Two Jeff Tweedy shows — next week! — just went on sale today. Tweedy's offering himself to raise money for a children's scholarship fund, the Emanuel Congregation, and the Kawasaki Disease Research Fund for Children's Memorial Hospital. The shows hit the Vic Theater Feb. 13 and 14 (happy Valentine's Day, fans!), and you'd better be devoted to his music and/or the cause cuz tickets are $50 and $100.
Tweedy's band, Wilco, also just announced they'll be offering up their new concert DVD, "Ashes of American Flags," earlier than much-delayed the release date. In an effort to boost excitement for Record Store Day (April 18), the band is making the DVD available exclusively to independent retail stores for the occasion. (It reaches all retailers two weeks later.) It will serve as a teaser for the Chicago-based band’s next studio album, expected this summer.
