To many people in Chicago, the letters LAX signify little more than an airport code in a city far, far warmer than ours. But to some, the letters inspire thoughts of fast-paced on-field action, goals scored and jukes executed. That's right, we're talking lacrosse. And so will you be, if you head to Duffy's Tavern (420 1/2 W. Diversey) on Tuesday night at 7 p.m. That's when there will be an informational meeting held on the Chicago Ladylax League, a (the only?) local post-collegiate women's lacrosse league aimed at getting girls back into the swing of sticks and nets. Free beers, too.
The league is run by Jennifer Sommers, who also heads the Chicago Lacrosse Association, whose goal is to promote a physically active lifestyle and community service. For more info/to RSVP, email Jennifer or check out the Facebook page.

This could be you.
