The show, starring Danny McBride and featuring appearances by Will Ferrell, is about a washed-up baseball reliever (McBride) who gets run out of the big leagues and is forced to go home to North Carolina and work as a substitute teacher.

We’re not sure which former Cubs player this resembles most (too soon for Rod Beck?) but McBride eerily resembles pudgy former Phillies slugger (and current ESPN commentator) John Kruk.
