You've barely finished breakfast, but here we are ready to stir up some lunch cravings. How does some spicy, meaty chili sound? Pretty good, right? Well, you only have to wait a couple hours 'til you can get some at Rockit Bar & Grill's first-ever ChiliFest, running through Friday.
Like the restaurant's annual summer BurgerFest, this event will offer guests four different preparations of the featured dish throughout the week, plus one special variety courtesy of executive chef James Gottwald. We suggest going for the $8 chili sampler, featuring Wagon Wheel Chili (black angus beef, wagon wheel pasta and cheddar), Rockit's signature turkey chili and a portion of that day's special; the list includes a gumbo-style chili in honor of Fat Tuesday and the Four-Alarm Farmer, a meatless version with garden vegetables and dried ancho chilies. Speaking of four alarms, firefighters get a free bowl of chili just by showing a badge.
Seeing as Gottwald won last week's Mac 'n' Cheese Smackdown, you might also want to try the chili mac, which includes four-cheese mac 'n' cheese with turkey chili on top ($12).
The full schedule is after the jump. Rockit opens at 11:30 a.m.
