Chicago Sun-Times
Are you out in it? We're on it. All the street-level tunes, flicks, chow, cocktails and more from sources around the city ...

Because tonight belongs to ticket-holders

Can you still name all five Spice Girls?

Bummed that you won't be going to tonight's screening of "Patti Smith: Dream of Life" at Northwestern's Block Cinema (it's sold out)? Us, too. But we're cheering ourselves up by looking at the awesome music movies still to show as part of the Remake/Remodel: Rock and Roll Movies series. Witness:

2/4: "Spice World" ("A Hard Day's Night for the '90s")

2/11: "Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars" ("Bowie at his most flamboyant and outrageous")

2/12: "Chuck Berry Hail! Hail! Rock 'n' Roll" ("this just might be the catchiest documentary ever made")

2/18: "DiG!" ("Jerry Springer-esque," says Brian Jonestown Massacre lead singer)

2/27: "The T.A.M.I. Show" (James Brown's best performance ever?)

3/4: "Joe Strummer: The Future Is Unwritten" (“It’s history, criticism, philosophy and politics, played fast and loud")

3/12: "Don't Look Back" ("a defining study of celebrity as suffocation")

3/13: "Gimme Shelter" ("A thrilling glimpse into a legendary and terrifying day in rock history")

All screenings are at 8 p.m. at the Block Cinema, 40 Arts Circle Drive, Evanston. Unless otherwise noted, tickets are $4 for students, $6 for general public, and tickets go on sale 30 minutes before showtime.
