Say what you will about Gordon Ramsay...but the abrasive chef appears to know what he's doing when it comes to saving restaurants. At least the people at La Grange's Cafe 36 seem to think so; since the restaurant's appearance on Ramsay's Fox show, "Kitchen Nightmares," last week, it's gotten a huge boost in reservations and Web site hits.
How much of the increased interest in the American bistro is due to Ramsey's efforts at revamping the Cafe 36 menu (entrees include veal medallions, braised short ribs and trout almondine) rather than mere television-induced curiosity remains to be seen, but for now, expect a table to be tough to secure.
