Oprah Winfrey has canceled an episode of her talk show that was to mark the 10th anniversary of the Columbine High School massacre, saying it focused too much on the killers.
The episode titled "10 Years Later: The Truth about Columbine" was to air Monday, the anniversary of the massacre in Littleton, Colo., that killed 12 students and a teacher.
Winfrey posted a message Monday morning on her Facebook page, saying that after she reviewed the taped show she decided to pull it because of its focus on the two gunmen.
She urged viewers to keep the Columbine community in their thoughts.
Winfrey said she would air a program about a mother released from prison in place of the Columbine piece. Her company Harpo Productions confirmed the announcement.

Who cares?!!!
Television stations change their programming schedules all the time and they don't get front- page, breaking-news coverage as a result.
Oprah needs to get over herself.
She ain't all that.
Couldn't she have just changed up the show a bit? Maybe focus on the families and how they are doing now? Seeing how the community is working to heal and move forward? Ditching the show altogether is a disappointment.
Yay. Another story about Oprah...
Good for you Oprah, if more shows would do the same, we would not have so many crazy copycats......
I applaud the move not to air a show that focuses on the gunmen. That was part of their objective.
The radio station I listen to 850 KOA, will not mention their names either during the broadcasts. They focus on the lives of those lost and the ones who were injured. 850 KOA started the "Never Forgotten" Scholarship awards--they are given to current seniors at Colorado Schools. The scholarships are given to students and one teacher in the name of those who were killed at Columbine. It's a great story.
