From the Associated Press:

Oprah Winfrey says pop star Rihanna's alleged beating by singer boyfriend Chris Brown has the talk show queen so sad she'll do a show dedicated to dating violence this week.

The hour-long episode of "The Oprah Winfrey Show" will air live from Chicago on Thursday. Winfrey offered Rihanna advice on her Friday show, saying "Heal yourself first and also, love doesn't hurt." She also told the couple they should seek counseling.

Winfrey says the Thursday episode is "dedicated to all the Rihannas of the world."

A Los Angeles police affidavit alleges that on Feb. 8, Brown punched, bit and choked Rihanna until she nearly lost consciousness. He has been charged with two felonies and will be arraigned in April.

I am a Rhianna fan, but as a woman and mother how can i support this woman who condones domestic violence. I believe in "stand by your man" however this is appalling. It has been proven that a man who hits will hit again. I have two girls and in this world we need strong women who know that they can make it on their own and do not need a man in their lives to make them complete, especially a man that beats on them. These young women should be educated and gain self esteem. Rhianna there is a sea full of men hunny, find yourself a dolphin and get rid of the shark.
