Following her 21-day, detox, Oprah more conscious of healthy eating

If there's one thing Oprah Winfrey learned from her 21-day vegan detox diet, it's that she's more aware now more than ever of what's on her dinner plate at night.

Winfrey embarked on the vegan diet four weeks ago -- cutting caffeine, sugar, alcohol and animal products from her daily eating habits.

What did she miss most? Wine.

"I want some wine. Bordeaux 82. Just one glass at sunset, almost broke down and had a glass. I didn't, mostly because of my commitment to fellow VCTers. Tomorrow, Scarlet…tomorrow is another day. That's my mantra for now," Winfrey writes on her blog.

Winfrey took on the challenge to jump start an inner makeover and blogged daily on her detox challenge.

"I used to say thanks before a meal out of perfunctory habit," Winfrey said. "Now I consider it true grace to be able to eat anything in a world of increasing food shortages and starving people."

I wish I could say I had the willpower to do this, but give up caffeine? It's like one of the five food groups for me.

Oprah, you came through a 21 day conn job. Sub-standard fake nutrition homo sapience, you and I, are not programmed for!
But don't despair, your 'cleansing' is a first step into hartsmartliving.com, living--- not healthy---normal.

My credentials: Omnivore, carnivore stile. I smoke, occasionally, drink, moderately. IBM 21. No medicine ever, no vitamins, health supplements ever. Medicinal expenses: close to zero.
This Monday's heart rate, double checked, 121--71--108. Only results count! All this from an very agile 83 year old!

I decided to cut out all animal products when I heard Oprah did. When she said on her blog that you can't be spiritually evolved and eat animals, that really got me thinking. I feel a lot less bloated and a lot more energetic, and my digestion process feels a lot more efficient.
