Oprah Winfrey -- who helped launch Dr. Phil into a household name and huge success -- is hoping to have the same kind of luck with medical genius Dr. Mehmet Oz -- a frequent on her daily talk show.

Oprah's Harpo productions is in talks to give the now-famous doc his own talk show, which would launch in fall 2009.

Oz's show would be the third attempt at branding a household television show -- she had huge success with both Dr. Phil and Rachel Ray, whose shows are distributed by CBS, according to Broadcasting and Cable which broke the story.

Last month Oz hosted an entire episode of Oprah's show himself, and he's made appearances on her popular XM Satellite Radio.
