Northwestern RB Mike Trumpy has surgery

Northwestern running back Mike Trumpy tweeted Thursday morning that he was on his way to Northwestern Memorial Hospital to have surgery on his torn left anterior cruciate ligament. Trumpy suffered the season ending injury Oct. 1 in the Wildcats' 38-35 loss at Illinois.
It is the second consecutive year that Trumpy has suffered a serious injury against the Illini. In last year's Wrigley Field game, Trumpy broke his right wrist.
