It's official: Dan Persa will start for Northwestern Saturday at Illinois, team officials said about 90 minutes before kickoff.
It should come as no surprise, since coach Pat Fitzgerald and Persa said they'd be surprised if the senior didn't play against the No. 24 Illini.
