Behind the record setting ground work of Illinois running
back Mikel Leshoure, the visiting Illini beat Northwestern 48-27 Saturday at
Wrigley Field.
Leshoure had rushed for 319 yards with about seven minutes
to play in the game, setting a new school record. He also scored two
touchdowns.
NU running back Mike Trumpy had a career day, rushing for over 100 yards and scoring two touchdowns, including an 80-yard run in the first quarter that was the eighth longest TD rush in school history.
