Lincoln Square neighbors — at least the ones who have organized under the banner "Save Lincoln Square — are planning a protest before Wednesday's City Council meeting at City Hall, 121 N. LaSalle.

Ald. Eugene Schulter plans to forward an ordinance that would allow the city to acquire the 4800 block of Western for private development. They plan to meet at 9 a.m. for the 10 a.m. meeting to convince aldermen to vote against the so-called land acquisition list.

We the residents of the 47th ward Gene Shulter's ward are tired of the development and will not stand for it anymore. We have no stores to shop as it is and now Shulter wants to take away Walgreens which has been here forever. Enough is enough. We don't want another Lincoln Park which is highly congested and over populated and filled with coffee shops. Who needs it. This area could use a little improvement but no more development. It's time for Shulter to resign PLEASE
