is this where I answer hoods quiz? If so I say twenty years ago, 1987.
I responded 1987 in the comments link about 2 hours ago. I'm not sure if I'm doing this response correctly.
According To Howard Schultz's book "Pour Your Heart Into It," the First Starbucks opened up in Chicago in 1987.
The first Chicago unit was opened October 1987 at 219 W. Jackson Blvd. and its success prompted it to open a second espresso bar in Feb/Mar 1988 at 150 N. Wacker Dr.; and a third in April 1988 at 675 N. St. Clair St.
