Morrissey postpones Chicago show -- again

Morrissey fans: Apparently, we want the one we can't have.

Morrissey has postponed his sold-out concert scheduled for this weekend, Jan. 26 at the Chicago Theatre. The show was itself a rescheduled appointment after the famed British singer postponed a string of concerts last fall to care for his ailing mother.

This time, a band member has fallen ill, according to a statement just released by the promoter, Jam Productions. Word is actually several members have picked up the flu.

That statement also reads:

Those who have already purchased tickets for this Saturday's Chicago Theatre concert are encouraged to hold on to their tickets and stay tuned for information regarding the rescheduled playdate. If you are still holding tickets for the original concert date from October 27, 2012, those tickets will also be honored for the new date and will not need to be exchanged.

The tour will resume Monday, January 28 in Asheville, NC.

Morrissey would like to thank everyone for their understanding and patience and wishes his band a speedy recovery.

A third date allegedly will be announced shortly.

Morrissey was due to perform tonight in Flint, Mich., where news of that cancellation came just four hours before show time. Friday's show in Minneapolis also has been postponed.

Misery, now, heaven knows, etc. etc.
