The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame announced its next class of inductees this afternoon, and they are ...

• Albert King
• Randy Newman
• Public Enemy
• Rush
• Donna Summer

Producer-manager Lou Adler and producer-arranger Quincy Jones will receive the the Ahmet Ertegun (nonperformer) Award.

Jones is a Chicago native. Our town's Paul Butterfield Blues Band was eligible this year but didn't make the cut.

For the first time this year, the Hall's inductee selections allegedly factored in voting from fans.

The 28th annual induction ceremony will take place April 18 in Los Angeles -- its first time on the West Coast.
