aldeancubs.JPGOctober and baseball season's winding down -- but already we have the first Wrigley Field concert announcement for next season: Country star Jason Aldean will headline a concert at the Chicago Cubs ballpark July 20, 2013, with Kelly Clarkson, Jake Owen and Thomas Rhett.

The news came Thursday afternoon at a press conference at Wrigley by promoter Live Nation, with Aldean on hand, shivering in the cold and occasional rain in right field.

"A summer show's sounding pretty good right now," Aldean said.

Tickets for next summer's concert go on sale Nov. 3 via, or by calling (800) THE-CUBS.

Aldean released his fifth album, "Night Train," on Tuesday. The album is projected to sell up to 400,000 copies just this week and debut at No. 1.

He's currently on an arena tour, which wraps next weekend, but this next go-round is a clear step up. In addition to Wrigley's 40,000-seat capacity, Aldean also announced Thursday a July 13 concert as the first country star to play Boston's Fenway Park.

How does he feel about stepping up into Kenny Chesney-sized venues?

"Well, you know, your show is your show, whether you're doing it for 40,000 people or 5,000," Aldean said. "This just gives me a chance to do something bigger and better. ... Me and my band are pretty locked in with what we do. We can rock Wrigley, no problem."

A third national concert announcement from Aldean is expected later Thursday.
