The 16th annual Hideout Block Party, now a joint venture with The Onion's A.V. Club, has announced dates and acts for its 2012 late-summer shindig: Sept. 14-15 with Iron & Wine, Glen Hansard and more.
Also on the bill: soul band Lee Fields & The Expressions, the Corin Tucker Band (Sleater-Kinney), the Waco Brothers, plus special performances by the Redmoon Theater Co.
More acts will be announced in two weeks.
Two-day passes ($40 now, $50 when that batch is gone) are on sale now via hideoutchicago.com. Single-day tickets will go on sale later this summer.
Proceeds benefit a variety of Chicago charities, including Rock For Kids, Literacy Works, Drummond
Elementary School, and Oscar Mayer Magnet School.
