Sun-Times columnist Dave Hoekstra remembers "the best soul singer of all time," Solomon Burke, who died this weekend in an airport at age 70.

OK Go was in town last night. Yes, they can perform a show without YouTube videos.

Chrissie Hynde was back here last night, too, with her new side project JP, Chrissie & the Fairground Boys. (It's her third visit after last spring's chat and summer's Lollapalooza stint.) But Chrissie was in a mood.

P.S. Anyone expecting to see the Godsmack show this Friday should keep reading ...

Because of technical issues (the screens and light rig allegedly won't fit in the pavilion), the Godsmack show scheduled for the UIC Pavilion this Friday has been moved clear out to the Rosemont Theatre. And you have to get another ticket.

From Jam Productions:

For fans who have already purchased tickets for the UIC Pavilion, those tickets must be exchanged for new tickets at the Rosemont Theatre box office (in advance or on the night of the show). Box Office hours are from 11 a.m. thru 7 p.m. Due to the different seating configurations of the UIC Pavilion and the Rosemont Theatre, all ticket exchanges will be based upon available seat locations at the time of the exchange. No new service charges will be applied for ticket exchanges.
