Elton John and Billy Joel were supposed to be playing Wrigley Field this week, but that quickly imploded. However, it looks like there will be a concert at Wrigley this year, after all: the Dave Matthews Band announced on its Web site this weekend that it's scheduled to play two shows at the ballpark Sept. 17-18.
Matthews was originally announced to do a show at Wrigley this summer, but no date had been set until now.
Jason Mraz is scheduled to open the shows.
Ticket info: Fan club members get a pre-sale; the rest of us can start buying at 10 a.m. July 17. Tickets are priced at $85, $75, $65 and $49.50 and will be
available at www.tickets.com or by calling (800) THE-CUBS. (Tickets will not be sold at the Wrigley Field Box Office.) There is a six ticket limit per customer.
These shows will close out the band's summer tour.
