UPDATED SUNDAY 3:10 p.m.: Promoters have just announced that the final day of Lollapalooza, like the two before it, has sold out of single-day tickets. Saturday, spokeswoman Shelby Meade said the "sold-out" number was "about the same" as last year, which promoters put at 75,000 per day, or a total of 225,000 concertgoers in Grant Park throughout the weekend.
UPDATED SUNDAY MORNING: The Lollapalooza Web site still is listing single-day passes for the final day of the festival on sale at $80 each.
Temperature at the park already this morning (10:46 a.m.): 9o degrees. But there is a (warm) breeze blowing from the lake.
UPDATED SATURDAY MORNING: The Lollapalooza Web site now is listing single-day tickets for Saturday as sold-out. Single-day passes for Sunday are still on sale at $80 each, though it seems likely those will be gone soon, too.
If attendance numbers follow last year, that means another three days with a total of 225,000 people in Grant Park.
PREVIOUSLY: An update on the ticket front: Promoters say they have sold-out of three-day passes to the festival, as well as Friday single-day tickets.
A limited number of single-day tickets remain for Saturday and Sunday.
No word on attendance numbers yet for 2009, but the promoters said that "sold out" meant 75,000 people in Grant Park per day in 2008.
