Tuning in with Thomas Conner

So you wanna see Radiohead somewhere else...

As it turns out, the much-hailed (and hyped) British art-rock giants are starting their summer tour, their first U.S. visit in three years, at Lollapalooza in Grant Park on Aug. 1 (thereby kicking off the festival -- and leaving open the question of who will close it on Aug. 3. Nine Inch Nails? Kanye West?).

The rest of Radiohead's summer tour dates follow the jump. Meanwhile, Time Out Chicago's blog makes some interesting points about local bands (and the lack thereof) at Lollapalooza, now that promoters C3 Presents are becoming an increasingly active part of the concert business hereabouts.

Here are Radiohead┬╣s August North American tour dates:

Aug. 1: Chicago (Lollapalooza / Grant Park)

Aug. 3: Noblesville, Ind. (Verizon Wireless Music Center)

Aug. 4: Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio (Blossom Music Center)

Aug. 6: Montreal (Parc Jean Drapeau)

Aug. 8-9: Jersey City, N.J. (All Points West Festival / Liberty State Park)

Aug. 12: Camden, N.J. (Susquehanna Bank Center)

Aug. 13: Mansfield, Mass. (Tweeter Center For the Performing Arts)

Aug. 15: Toronto (Molson Amphitheatre)

Aug. 19: Vancouver (Thunderbird Stadium)

Aug. 20: Auburn, Wash. (White River Amphitheatre)

Aug. 22: San Francisco (Outside Lands Festival / Golden Gate Park)

Aug. 24-25: Los Angeles (Hollywood Bowl)

Aug. 27: Chula Vista, Calif. (Cricket Wireless Amphitheatre)

Aug. 28: Santa Barbara, Calif. (Santa Barbara Bowl)

Minnesota's not a bad place to play! Why not Minnesota, Radiohead?!?!? :p

Jim, do a bit more research. The band's tour starts on May 5th, at Cruzan Amphitheatre in West Palm Beach, Florida, not, as you said, at Lollapalooza. I'll be there (not quite so) front row (but) center.

Andrew, you need to read closer. He wrote: "Radiohead's AUGUST North American Tour Dates."

Actually CL, he does say that they are starting their American tour in Chicago. You should read closer.
