Not a record you want to break

Federal judges determine the sentences for convicted criminals based on a point system.

It's complex, but basically, the points are totaled based on your crimes and your criminal background.

The scale tops out at 43. You get a 43, you get life.

Mob killer Frank Calabrese Sr. got a 54, the highest the judge in the case had ever seen.

This guy is a real piece of work.

Thank you for your article dated today January 31, 2009. It is very good. I was in the court room and grateful that I had my say in front of Calabrese. It was hard to do but gave me closure at the same time opening up a great wound and great void in my life.

I have to say that I agree. It was hard to speak infornt of him, but it was very healing. I just hope that Nick's goes as well. Even though he turned all these guys in, he still did enough horrible things himself to spend the rest of his life behind bars.

I agree about Nick Calabrese.

when will nick calabrese be sentenced

STEVE WARMBIR RESPONDS: Nick Calabrese will be sentenced after Anthony Doyle, but that date hasn't been set yet. Likely in a few months.

Steve Just a Comment on yesterday`s sentencing of Joey Lombardo.I was sitting right behind Joey. let me say one thing, Whether you like him, or hate him, you have to admit That he truly is a Gangster
No remose, no conscience, just sticking to his story. I don`t know if anyone else noticed this Fact, that Joey was
treated with more repect in court than calabrese was.Joey was talking to several people,He wasn`t lead out of court in shackels, he was givin a break to use the washroom.these are little things I know but when you have nothing and no rights they do mean a lot.
Good Bye Joey.

Steve, I have a question on the double jeopardy clause,How can they
Convict Lombardo on Charges he already served time for? and Can`t the defendants file suit against the government for trying them all together? Lombardo would of walked a free man yesterday if he was tried by himself, belive me.

STEVE WARMBIR RESPONDS: Lombardo wasn't tried on the same set of facts. He went to prison before for trying to bribe a U.S. Senator and being part of the Outfit's scheme to skim Las Vegas casinos. In this case, he was charged with other crimes while he was part of the Outfit, including killing a federal witness, Daniel Seifert.

All the defendants already asked the judge for separate trials, and he denied their requests.

Expect Lombardo and other defendants to appeal their convictions based on both matters.

Nick should get life too he admitted to killing the most people.

aww... look at that... making the old guy do the perp walk...

Steve, Has there been any reports "Twan" has started cooperating with Feds? Just seems suspicious that his lawyer came down with an "illness" after the Indian got 20 plus without any murder counts. A similar sentence he could be facing. Buying time?

STEVE WARMBIR RESPONDS: No reports that Twan has been cooperating. His lawyer has long been looking for a continuance on the sentencing date, well before the Indian got hit hard with 20 years. I understand what you're saying, but I don't think it's true in the case.

Also, remember that Anthony "Twan" Doyle was not accused of any murders, so he's not looking at quite as serious time as the other defendants.
