Frank Schweihs
Reputed mob killer Frank "The German" Schweihs - who had a fearsome reputation even among the most hard-core mobsters - has died.
Schweihs was recently transferred from the Metropolitan Correction Center to Thorek Hospital and Medical Center, where he died Wednesday evening, according to authorities.
Schweihs had been suffering from cancer and had been unable to stand trial with other top mobsters in the Family Secrets case last year. He was finally scheduled to go on trial in October.
Schweihs died from complications related to his cancer, said Assistant U.S. Attorney Marcus Funk, a prosecutor in last summer's Family Secrets trial.
Schweihs' standing among mobsters was legendary.
In one conversation secretly recorded by the feds, Schweihs tells a man that he won't be around because he has to go commit a murder - as most people would say they have to take out the trash.
The late mobster Michael Spilotro once warned his teenage daughter that if she ever saw Schweihs around their home, she was to lock the door and call the cops, according to testimony in the Family Secrets trial.

I couldn't imagine the kind of hell this man will endure in eternity. His wrath was brutal and to think there are other people like this that exist.
I've heard numerous odd stories about him that almost always included murder. What's amazing about stories of organized crime--past and present, namely street gangs--is that the people who do all the dirty work end up with nothing.
This guy, who was rumored to kill Marlyn Monroe, not only didn't have anything at the end of his natural life, he'll have hell to face.

Some men good or bad are the best at what they do,Schweihs was one of them. Unlikes the rat slobs that are waiting their sentences he would have taken his problems with him and never RAT on anybody.I knew Frank ,and yes you had to take him serious,but with him you always knew where you stood. Unlike those back stabbers who await their fate. And it would be nice to see how long they last when they get to Marion IL,

Schweihs would not have made it through the trial without being held in contempt. He couldn't hold his tongue during hearings.
I'm glad the prosecutors don't have to take the verbal abuse he would have spewed at them.

I guess you don't know about the Aryan brotherhood , I guess you remember John Gotti ,he went to southern IL and thought he could rely on his boys only. Well it did not work it cost him $50,000 a month to have his peace of mind. Since Mr. Schweihs has died, and there will be no trial, do you expect that we'll ever learn the details of the evidence that the FBI compiled against Frank? Had his case gone to trial, I presume that some very interesting information might have been revealed to the public.
