Frank Calabrese Sr.'s defense

FrankCalabreseSr..jpg
Frank Calabrese Sr., in happier times

In this trial, Frank Calabrese Sr. is in a jam.

He's had his hitman younger brother, Nick, testify about the murders they went out on together.

And he's had his eldest son, Frank Jr., secretly tape record him talking, in great detail, about some of those very same murders.

So what's his defense?

C-O-N-S-P-I-R-A-C-Y.

Frank Calabrese Sr. is going to claim that his brother, Nick, his son, Frank Jr., and a second son, Kurt, conspired to keep him in prison forever, so they could steal from him with abandon.

Why the need for the second son to be involved?

Well, remember this.

Nick detailed hits he and his brother allegedly did together.

Frank Sr. allegedly talks about some of those very same hits on the recordings his son made.

Nick's testimony corroboroates the recordings and Frank Jr.'s testimony and vice versa.

It's not as if Nick and Frank Jr. have been collaborating on this because they haven't spoken in years.

So Frank Sr. needs someone to point to as a go between.

That appears to be his son, Kurt.

It's unclear how Kurt managed to coordinate a multiple series of complex lies.

It will be interesting to see how Frank Sr. explains this.

Under Frank Sr.'s theory, that would have to be some pretty fancy storytelling.

Frank Sr may have a point when he stated his family stole money from him.

I have no doubt they did just that because after all Frank Jr stole $600,000 which part of that loot belonged to the Hook from what we know!

But the million dollar question is where did Frank Sr get all that money? He didn't hold a job or legal investments that would account for all this money and we all know he was involved in collecting street tax for the mob and shared the wealth from those he extorted!

Here is where the government could hit him with another blow and some of his family members as well, Tax evasion! Somehow Nick and Frank Jr should be made to pay for what they did as well
