Foaming at the mouth?

John Nitti figured he had paid off his father's debts.

So he wasn't going to be making any more payments on the juice loans made to his father by Frank Calabrese Sr.

Nitti soon found out how wrong he was.

It was the mid-1990s, just before Frank Calabrese Sr. , his two sons and brother were to go to prison.

John Nitti was meeting one of Calabrese Sr.'s sons, Kurt, at a Target store in Melrose Park, to tell him that he wasn't paying anymore.

Nitti's father, who ran a travel agency, had been friends with Calabrese Sr. for years.

Frank Calabrese Sr. showed up at the Target too and told his son to go home.

John Nitti doesn't remember exactly what Frank Calabrese Sr. said.

But Calabrese Sr. told him his obligation wasn't over.

Nitti knows he was mad. He later told FBI agents Calabrese Sr. was foaming at the mouth.

"I was afraid there could be harm to my family," Nitti said.
