Ronald Jarrett's name hasn't come up much during testimony in the Family Secrets trial.
He died in 2000, gunned down in a mob hit outside his Bridgeport home. The hit was sanctioned by mob boss John "Johnny Apes" Monteleone, according to previous courtroom testimony.
But a close look at the prosecution's case shows he allegedly took part in at least nine Outfit murders with his friend Frank Calabrese Sr., who is accused of 13 mob hits in all.
Jarrett is accused of the first murder mentioned in the indictment, the 1970 slaying of Michael "Hambone" Albergo.
He's also named in the murders of John Mendell, who allegedly burglarized the home of top mob boss Anthony Accardo, as well as burglar Vincent Moretti and Moretti's friend, Donald Renno, mob hitman turned informant William Dauber and his wife, Charlotte and trucking executive Michael Cagnoni, among others.
Expect to hear more details of Jarrett's alleged significant participation in mob murders as the trial continues.

The mob had to be concerned that if Ronnie was arrested by the Feds for dealing drugs he might spill all he knew about whatever mob activities he was a part of. It was also rumored he was being disrespectful to mob associates. But then again if some mob associates did not care for you they can invent stories to make you look bad in the eyes of the mob bosses so they can get a hit sanctioned. All it takes is a simple misunderstanding with the wrong guy!
