With Mark Konkol

Recently in Roscoe Village Category

Don't let his power tie fool you, Marty Rogers isn't your typical copier salesman. The rather portly, 40-year-old Roscoe Village man, lives a double life as "The Sheriff," front man of his country music parody band, Z28.

You can catch Rogers' and the band March 13 at Hog Head McDunna's, 1505 West Fullerton, Chicago.

Wanna beat that hangover or fight off the flu?
Try this concoction courtesy of Sparki-the-bartender of the Four Moon Tavern in Roscoe Village.

Sara Chazin is a sweet lady with a great store, and it's only when you stop to chat with her that you'll find out she has a great story.

Speaking of interesting characters, what I really want to know is ...

At his best, Mark Konkol is a White Sox fan. He lives on the South Side. He enjoys cold beer. At one time or another over the last 10 years, he's covered Chicago and Cook County government, city schools, transportation and the ins-and-outs of neighborhood life. E-mail him at mkonkol@suntimes.com.
