Scheelhaase, Petrino clicking in second season

With a year under their belts together in Champaign, sophomore quarterback Nathan Scheelhaase and second-year offensive coordinator Paul Petrino are planning big things. That year of shared experience is a great foundation, they say.
``It'll be huge,'' Scheelhaase said. ``In my mind, coach Petrino is the best offensive coordinator in the country, not just from a strategy standpoint, but from a motivational standpoint. It's been amazing to work with him.''
With Scheelhaase in his second collegiate season, Petrino said, he'll be able to install--and call--a more diverse set of offensive plays.
``A quarterback being in the second year is real big,'' Petrino said. ``We put a lot of pressure on our quarterback to make a lot of checks at the line of scrimmage in the running game and in our [pass] protections. Mentally, Nathan is so much sharper, so much more confident. He can go out there and play; he's not worried about making mistakes. As a result, we can advance [the offensive sets] are lot faster because of Nathan being in his second year.''
