Bad break for Scott Lindsey, Fenwick

There hasn't been a player in the Class of 2014 who has raised his stock more this summer than Fenwick's Scott Lindsey.

Fortunately for Lindsey, the Hoops Report's breakout performer of the summer, he did his job and impressed when he needed to in July, because the 6-5 senior will be out of action for a few months.

While on his unofficial visit to Vanderbilt this past weekend, Lindsey broke two bones in his lower left leg while playing. The good news with the injury is there doesn't appear to be a need for surgery and there is zero tendon or ligament damage.

Lindsey, who will be in a cast for six weeks, is expected to make a 100 percent recovery. The best case scenario appears to be a return to action in December.

Fenwick, with first-year coach Rick Malnati and the return of Lindsey and several other key players, is expected to challenge in the Chicago Catholic League and be a Top 25 team when the season opens in November.

The recruitment of Lindsey, a skilled and versatile perimeter threat who has gained consistency and confidence, picked up every week he played in July with Illinois Old School. He went from a few offers to double-digit offers, including high-major offers and interest.

Lindsey's official visits won't change despite the injury. He will visit Nevada the weekend of Sept. 14, followed by an official visit to Iowa on Sept. 21. Lindsey will head to Northwestern Oct. 5 and return to Vanderbilt for an official visit Oct. 19.
