Lincoln's Jordan Nelson, arguably the best shooter in the senior class, has committed to Evansville.
Nelson, who recently took an official visit to Evansville, heads to the Missouri Valley Conference school as one of the premier three-point shooters in state history. The 6-1 guard had a terrific senior year, which included a 48-point performance against Springfield Lanphier and being named the Central State 8 Player of the Year. He finished the season averaging 22 points a game and knocked down 112 three-pointers on the season and a whopping 347 in his career.

I sure hope they can find a way to get him open. A great shooter but he's not on the athletic side. It's gonna be tough having him defend his position too at 6'1". Got some big boys in that league. Good luck to him. Glad someone took a chance on him. But it is a chance. It took a coach engrained at a school that worship him to take such a chance. He's more secure than most coaches. Probably why he took a chance on him.
Joe, I hope you follow all these 2011 recruits and give us updates next year as the 2012 class is on the weak side. I'll be curious to see if this kid can pull it off; if boatright can make an impact with his slender frame; and how much pt all these kids going to Illinois get. I think the kids going to Illinois will get frustrated for lack of playing time. And it will hurt their development, unlike how the few freshman at Ohio State excelled because of alot of pt. Maybe next year come this time you can enlighten us on how these guys fared, please.
They said Jimmer couldn't do this and that, but he found a way to get his shot off, hardwork got this youngster his scholarship and hardwork will get him in the line-up!
Congrats Jordan on your decision to go to Evansville!
