Should legal authorities investigate A-Rod's story?

So if Michael Phelps was being investigated for possible criminal charges just for a picture of hitting on a bong, shouldn't Alex Rodriguez be investigated for what he confessed to during his news conference Tuesday?

If we're to believe A-Rod, and some of the stuff from that news conference was unbelievable, his cousin brought illegal drugs over the border from the Dominican Republic.

And Rodriguez said his cousin did that his behest.

I'm no legal authority, but it seems to me transporting illegal drugs over the border is a bit more serious than hitting a bong.

But Rodriguez may have anticipated this line of questioning and said he didn't know what he was injecting into his body. He reportedly tested positive for two substances, including one that is illegal. So if his cousin transported that substance, that sounds like a crime.

And to no surprise, the infamous cousin was found. Bud Selig had talked about investigating the possibility of punishing A-Rod, and it will be interesting to see if legal authorities get involved.

NOPE! But they are going to do it anyway. Wasting our tax dollars!! They should be going after Roland the Weasel Burris and all these oily Banks and Brokers who have hurled us back to 1929!!! But NO, lets waste time and money going after lying sports figures - who entertain us. Government should be tightening their belts from such trials!!! The rest of us have to!!

DEA law has a 5 year statute of limitation.

If A-Rod's cousin was supplying the entire west coast with drugs and Phelps was helping distribute them I'd say gom after them but I agree with Keith, it's a waste of time and tax payers money that would be better spent putting people like Madoff away and trying to recoup the money they stole from the working people of this country.
