I have no "inside information" on what the Bulls hope to do before Thursday's NBA trade deadline, but one person who does have a couple strong NBA connections says don't be surprised if Amare Stoudemire heads to Toronto, Chris Bosh comes to the Bulls and a package featuring Drew Gooden and Tyrus Thomas heads to Phoenix.
What do you think?
Will the Suns want to trade Stoudemire now that Alvin Gentry has replaced Terry Porter as head coach and has vowed a return to Mike D'Antoni's running, gunning ways.
Will the Suns want to deal with Bryan Colangelo?
Like Stoudemire, Bosh is part of that 2010 free-agent class if he doesn't exercise his player option for 2010-11.
If the Bulls can make this deal, jump on it immediately.
Bosh is a fantastic 24-year-old power forward, averaging 22.7 points and 9.5 rebounds. He may not be as strong as Stoudemire, but he's long and athletic. Another good fit for Derrick Rose.
Maybe if it was Hughes instead of Gooden - Drew's expiring deal is too valuable.
But in general, trading Tyrus is a HORRIBLE idea. He is an absolute weapon. I get the fact that the Bulls will have to give something of value to get something in return. Stoudemire and Bosh are available because they are overrated, while Tyrus is underrated. Tyrus has upside; Phoenix and Toronto have seen the best Bosh and Stoudemire could do and have decided to move on. What does that tell you?
Ok, now this I am down with. Bosh is a much more complete player than Stoudamire. Not quite as strong but he plays defense and rebounds and score as many points nad is a good teammate.
Let's go for this. Forget Amare
What do I think? You make that deal as fast as you can before anybody has second thoughts. I'm having a hard time thinking of any guy who would help the Bulls more than Bosh would, and it isn't Stoudemire.
Ummm, seriously though?
This is a joke and you want to see how fast this rumor spreads?
I like Bosh better than Stoudemire. Stoudemire has been a very selfish player, wanting to be "the man" and forcing shots that are not there. Bosh is a better deal if the bulls can really get it.
Yeah right! and in other news President Obama is coming over to my house Thursday for dinner, I'm making meatloaf!
WIN WIN WIN
I like it for all the parties envolved.
Can we throw in Hughes somehow too?
Seems kind of pointless. I'd assume there would be more players/picks involved because otherwise, why wouldn't Chicago deal directly with Phoenix? If I were the Bulls, I'd take Stoudemire over Bosh everyday.
Bosh is imo the much better player and if Pax could somehow pull this out before he retires or whatever he's going to do, it would make up for the Pau Gasol trade fiasco.
Damn you Roman, why are you trying to get our hopes up!?
What's the motivation for Toronto in this? Money from the Bulls? Picks? I don't get it.
Oh hell yeah!
He will give you 20 and 10 every single night and he is only 24 years-old.
Bosh can shoot, drive to the hoop, rebound, block shots... everything that you hope that Thomas will be some day... Bosh is right now and has been from day one.
If this is a real possibility then do it right now before they come to their senses.
They would need to get him signed first or else uncle Jerry would screw it all up by letting him go by being a cheap clown.
Billy Ray, why don't you back to tipping cows. Your absolutely not "Human" in my book. Idiot
I could honestly see the Bulls not making a big trade this year. Especially with everyone jumping onto the Tyrus bandwagon(but seriously? we had to wait 3 years for our number 2 pick from the 2006 draft to avg 9.7ppg and 6rpg...it may be another 3 until hes half the player Bosh or Amare is. Do we really wanna wait that long?)And no matter what anyone says, Drew Gooden is a very solid player and has a good post game the Bulls have always wanted. But... if they somehow do land Bosh or Amare what makes everyone think they will want to stay around after the 2010 free agency. They may wanna go to the highest bidder or go play wherever Lebron goes. Though I do think that either player would make this team a whole lot better and Pax needs to get someone before this deadline. I say the best deal right now is Tyrus, Thabo, and either Hinrich, Hughes or Noah to get Amare. Keeping Gooden and his expiring contract would be huge plus hes a solid big man. The Suns would probably go for it because we had to pay the Sixers to draft Thabo so we could trade for him so the Suns would'nt get him. Tyrus would be a grat athletic big for the rebuilding Suns and if we sent them Hinrich he could be the next pg after Nash. I guess in my dream world they land Amare this year, Wade in 2010 and they create the next big three with Rose and the Bulls are immediate championship favorites for a long time.
The bulls should pass on any trades that includes tyrus thomas
they need to make sure they get rid of hughes in any trade they make.
They can win with the rest of their team if they can aquire one of the clippers centers without giving too much.
Well Neal, i think they would stay because there is no better point guard to play along with than Derrick Rose. He is unselfish and has no problem not being the star of the team. Also, Drew Gooden needs to be involved in any deal for the specific reason o his expiring. Many teams want it, and w cant get all-star talent without giving it up.
how about hinrich and gooden for bosh?
This deal would definitely be a win for the Bulls. Tyrus will never be as good as Bosh is now. I would even throw in another player not named Rose or a draft pick to get it done. Bosh is an allstar. Bosh is more complete than Amare. I would take Bosh if he is available.
I don't believe it, but if true, I would make this deal yesterday if not sooner before someone realized the error of their ways. Bosh is a natural fit for the team the Bulls want to be. Stoudemire is a nice player, and would fit well with some teams but would be a mis-fit for the Bulls.
People complaining about trading TT (who I still love) are like the ones saying we couldn't throw Deng in, when the Kobe trade talk was occurring. Wake up! We have a bunch of marginal players and one potential superstar. Now you have a chance to add an ALL-STAR to the mix - what is wrong with some of you people? You'd actually have a shot at something, if this deal went thru.
I know there is a lot of Kirk hate out there, but trading him doesn't make sense unless it's required to get the deal done. He's your only backup pt guard and can play spot 2 guard.
Roman responds: ESPN.com is reporting the Suns are now likely to keep Stoudemire. The part of this trade that didn't make sense was Toronto giving up one guy whose contract is up after next season for another. Unless the Raptors were going to get a draft pick as well, but Amare is making slightly more than Bosh. Who knows, at this point, the safe money may be on no big deal.
Roman, the reason Toronto wants Amare is Colangalo. The trade would give the Suns the cap room and TT and a draft pick, Raptors get Amare to reconnect with the ex-Suns guys, and the Bulls get their all-star, Bosh. Great trade for all three teams. I then think we try to get Kaman for Hughes, Gordon and Noce. Playoffs here we come.
Kaman/Gray center
Bosh/Noah power forward
Deng/Thabo small forward
Hinrich/Thabo off guard
Rose/Hinrich point guard
nice rotation.
Too good to be true. It's hard to deal Thomas for a guy that won't even be around next year. But if its true, you go for that Bosh deal! That's as real as it gets. Bulls need to send Pax, Mike, Scottie, Worm and Wennington to go get him if they can. Bosh is what you need to run with Rose and to attract the right star in here. We get Bosh, and then the Bulls are in business for real.
I think you are right Roman, the Bulls are going to be alright even if they don't make a move, but its a luxury Pax can't afford because he allowed Gasol to get away. I don't hold him responsible for Kobe or KG (was never going to happen), but he IS responsible for not closing on Gasol. A deal makes your club better FASTER. The Bulls are going to develop, but they also need that help via trades and free agency and managing the contracts. Gordon and Hughes are major contract problems. If Bosh gets traded and the Bulls miss the boat, Paxson needs to ask Kenny and Charles for a fishing rod.
Derrick Rose is saying: "Get me out of Chicago! I'm tired of losing every damn game!"
These scenarios could change daily from here on. I'll take a raincheck. I shop better on Thursdays anyway. That's when the deals are actually DEALS.
Ok, if you say you didn't want Stoudamire, I can go with that. Even though most of you in that camp probably still ride Paxson for not making the moves (that weren't really even there), there are plenty of reasons why Amare wouldn't be a good fit for this team and lets not give up those pieces for him. BUT... if you're going to say that you'd rather have Gooden and Thomas over Bosh, you have no idea what you're talking about and are clueless about the game of basketball. The problem is this article is garbage hearsay. I highly doubt anything like this has been remotely discussed. Stop spreading unfounded rumors.
If Pax made this trade it would totally make up for not getting Gasol and KG which probably wasnt mainly his fault. The Bulls should go to the mattresses for this trade give them Thabo a first pick maybe two first picks along with Ty and Gooden. The Bulls could easily woo Bosh over other options after 2010 and probably sign him to an extension before the start of next season. Bosh would have the exposure of chitown, Rose as his point guard and the tradition of the Bulls. The NBA runs on superstars and there is no guarantee that Tyrus or any future picks will be superstars so make this trade ASAP. If Pax really does want to step out of the GM job this would be the perfect swan song move to go out in style.
did a pacers fan just bash the bulls for losing every game? indiana has a worse record than chicago! this bosh deal would be absolutely golden. i don't care how much upside tyrus thomas has, this is chris bosh! the guy's a perennial all star and him and rose would be a dynamic duo. bosh is one of the league's six best players. pull the trigger immediately. too bad there's no chance of this happening.
I wonder who sits out on Wednesday?
WE CAN MAKE THIS DEAL WITHOUT GIVING UP TYRUS! MAKE A PACKAGE DEAL WITH MORE PLAYERS AND DRAFT PICKS TO MAKE IT HAPPEN. BUT KEEP TYRUS. IMAGINE A STARTING LINE UP OF ROSE,BOSH,DENG,TYRUS AND WHO EVER ELSE YOU WANT TO STICK IN THE FIFTH SPOT. GIVE UP GOODEN, TABO, JOKIM AND A FIRST ROUND PICK. WE EVEN HAVE SIMMINS OR WHAT EVER HIS NAME IS TO THROW IN.
YOU got to be kidding. Tyrus SUCKS!!!! He is an idiot when it comes to actual basketball. He doesn't know what he is doing. The only reason why people think he is good is because he can dunk. I'd take Bosh in a heart beat.
This is a flavor-filled deal. Big Joe is right, if there is any way to get this deal done w/o TT; then do it!! What about Bosh to Chicago for Capt. Kirk (for value), Gooden, Noah -- do the Rptors really want Amare'??
i love that trade....I think to make things even better we need to go after caron butler...if we get bosh, then we can move gordon, draft pick for butler.
this lineup is pretty nice
rose
kirk
butler
bosh
noah
thabo
hunter
gordon
TRADE Tyrus Thomas ASAP! I know everyone thinks he's turned the corner and maybe he has but this guy will never be Chris Bosh or Stoudemire. Don't drink the Kool-Aid, trade Thomas now while his stock is highest! Bosh and Rose could be legendary...
I have said before that Amare would be a great fit for the Bulls. But Bosh would be a BETTER fit. Bosh is an all-around big who PLAY'S D. I don't doubt this scenario is being discussed. In the event it is, the Bulls will contend for the ring if this deal is finalized. No matter who the give up they'll contend cause this team is full of 2nd and 3rd option role-players. The one thing they've been missing is a back-to-the-basket post player. Time for Bulls brass to man up! Make this deal happen and the NBA will benefit as well as the Bulls.
I think the Bulls should keep Tyrus, and trade Noah because he's been the big upset for the last two years. He has no offense, he's too weak to play defense on big man's like Amare and Dwight and hasn't improved. I think if you have Derrick Rose, Ben Gordon, Loul Deng, Tyrus Thomas, and Chris Bosh or Amare you have a Championship team. So I say trade Larry Hughes or Thabo (either one because there the same type of players), Drew Gooden, Joakim Noah, and if you have too some draft picks, to get Bosh or Amare. By the way Ben Gordon is underrated this guy is one of the best scorers and closers in the league he is going to be a All Star in the next year or two, lets try to keep him Bulls!!

roman for real you play too much man but u do make a strong case but if and i say if that happens we still need to move hughes and or noci to get another big but like that trade better than amare coming here bosh gives us offense and defense
I understand why a lot of you folks think TT is "turning the corner" or whatever cliche you want to use but the fact of the matter is that recent elevation of play from the backcourt has opened up a lot of things for TT and Noah. The way Rose, Hinrich and Gorden have been playing together has been great and any addition of a all star player in the front court would make the guard play outstanding and would just add to the front courts play. Its hard for me to believe that as well as TT has played that Bosh or Amare wouldn't have put even better numbers in the same situations. Having Rose and Gorden starting with Deng and Bosh/Amare would absolutely leave teams baffled defensely. How many teams can stop those four positons , against those players, man to man. So we get a litle weaker on the perimeter defense. It still would make other teams become jump shooters and well, we have seen how well that worked for the Bulls the last 2 seasons. Do something Pax, we have the ways and means with this team to make it special around Chicago again to watch the Bulls, don't be scared!
This deal is a no-brainer. Bosh is more complete than Amare, and actually has a post game. Plus, he's coachable--Amare with VDN as coach is a disaster waiting to happen. Tyrus has finally begun to hustle--the lack of energy was limiting his athleticism. But, he will never be more than a 16 pt. 10 reb. guy. Bosh w/ Rose can be a 25 pt. 12 reb. guy for the next 12 yrs. Pax, redeem yourself--MAKE THIS HAPPEN!
It would be nice if we had some reasonable assurance from Bosh that he would at least consider resigning with the bulls after next season. But either way the bulls ahve moveable assets that people around the league does value some. I am totally mistified that some people would be against trading anyone not named Rose on this team. Not to make a bad comparison, but how many people were sitll playing for the bulls when they won a championship that were there when he was drafted. Some players showed some fire before the allstar break, but you can't get an allstar in a trade fo a bag of magic beans. I've been a bulls fan since they had all of the drug addicts was playing here. I waited a long time before jordan got here to see a good team (just about 10 years) its been just as long since they were. I think its time for the cycle to return in our favor. Do the trade and dont look back. The NBA should put the franchise on probation if they didn't give up anybody the suns or the raps ask for other than derrick

about tyrus, he will never be the player he should be here, because
the bulls don't develop bigs very good. as high as tyrus can jump,i
would have made him learn to play with his back to the basket. plus
he would have to learn the hook shot and moves around the basket. between the side and lane he would be a good post up player, then and only then would i keep him.he would probably get fewer turnovers
also. look at this roster. hughes is almost impossible to trade with
his contract.don't think i'm crazy for what i'm about to say. but the bulls have the best roster to trade from. and they do have a couple of players who are hard to trade, deng is one. but you can just about trade anyone but rose to get bosh and be a playoff team. it doesn't matter how much money the bulls have under the cap, if they don't get bosh forget wade, he won't even look at the bulls without bosh.bosh is the total package. amare, is not and eastern conference player because he doesn't play good denfense. i would give the suns and the raptors a deal they couldn't refuse plus my number one draft pick, cause he probably will be a role player who you are paying too much money for. don't worry about losing bosh cause the bulls would have the last say on money for him. PAX, THE FUTURE IS NOW.
The more I think about it the more ridiculous these rumors are
PHX isn't gonna trade Amare. The owner wants to dump money but I think Kerr is talking him out of it. Bosh isn't gonna be traded. He will be available in 2010 though so we need to make a real push for him. Also neither Stoudamire or Bosh are back to the basket guys. They both mainly drive and shoots Js. There are only a small number of true post players. Being tall doesn't make you a post player.
_rew Goo_en sucks. He has a little post game but prefers to launch 20 footers even though he's 6'10" and 250 lbs. And he is the worst defender on the team.
Regarding Tyrus....sometimes lottery picks don't take off from day one. I really think Tyrus has turned the corner and in the end will be a much more complete player than Aldridge who is just a skinnier _rew Goo_en. A big softy who shoots Js and doesn't play and D.
I think we should just go all out and get BOTH Bosh and Stoudemire. You can trade Hinrich, Gooden, and 1st Rd. Pick for Stoudemire and send Gordon, Thomas, and Nocioni or Thabo for Bosh. The salaries should match up and you'd be shaking the team up big time but you would have two beasts in the middle with Bosh and Stoudemire plus you'd still have Deng and Rose. I think I would shake this team up and make some major moves because giving up a lot of your team for two all-stars could be a huge difference. Look at what Boston did and now they're one of the best teams in the East and the big thing to remember is that Bosh is still 24 and Stoudemire is 26 so we would be a great young team still. What you guys think?
Everyone is assuming that Phoenix Tyrus Thomas with draft picks. Gooden's contract, although expiring, isn't that big. I don't think Stoudemire will be leaving Phoenix now that Porter has been canned. With that being said, I am all for Bosh coming to Chicago. We instantly become big hitters in the weak east. I just don't think it is going to happen.
GO BULLS!
This would be a good trade if it did not include Tyrus Thomas. He is young and extremely athletic. He will grow into a great player for the Bulls. How about Gooden and Gray or Thabo
Bosh is not just an all-star, he's an olympian. A blue chip player. And in a league where those players are so few and far between the bulls would be stupid not to throw Deng in with Tyrus to get him. Dend is a solid "B" as a player...and in a couple of years when his potential has hit the ceiling he's a C+/B-. I live in Chicago and watch a lot of basketball here and don't think Amare would be a good fit here. Tyrus would be an unbelievable talent running with Nash up and down the floor, and I"d bet money Shaq winds up being traded to the Lakers with Phoenix eating some of that STUPID contract. What no one has brought up is the re-uniting of Marion and Stoudamire in Toronto. The raptors need someone to be the "face" of the franchise...someone who responds well with reporters and has a great smile...and that's not Bosh. Is it me or does he seem to have trouble talking. Either way....I hope this is true....Chicago could compete with anyone, Rose is a WINNER.
It would appear that after reading all the above posts it's pretty much split evenly as to whether or not to include TT in a trade. First I have to say that I would rather see Bosh in Chicago than Amare and then I would give up Noah long before TT or even Deng before TT. I could live with a Gooden, Deng and Noah trade for Bosh. Giving you a starting line up of Rose, Gordon, Tyrus, Bosh and Gray with Hinrich, Noce, Thabo and Simmons coming off the bench.
Newflash people.
Neither Amare or Bosh will be traded. Neither team is that dumb. I wish these dumb rumors would stop.
Bosh will be available but only as a free agent in 2010. We should definitely go after him and either Wade or Joe Johnson. We need 3 legit stars.
I hear Hinrich and Gooden are heading to Minnesota for expiring contracts.
