Check out Andrei Arlovski's video as he prepares to shock the world.
I'm predicting Andrei upsets Fedor on Jan. 24 in Anaheim.
Andrei's biggest obstacle in my opinion is conquering the aura of Fedor, who's got a Mike Tyson-in-his-prime thing going on. The word is some guys are so psyched out they lose before getting in the ring.
I think Andrei's confidence is genuine. The former UFC champ is fighting as well as he ever has.
And I think Andre is is a superior boxer and striker, and that's due to the tutelage of Chicago boxing coach Mike Garcia. I like and respect Freddie Roach, but Garcia's been improving Andrei's boxing from Day 1. I'm sure Roach has helped with some fine tuning.
Fedor is the No. 1 ranked heavyweight in the world, and a win for Andrei would be huge. Personally, I hope Andrei some day gets back into the UFC. I have nothing against the other promotions, but I'd still like to see Andrei back in the Octagon.
In the meantime, check out the videos. They're pretty well done.
I think Arlovski stands a chance for an upset, but he will have to knock out Fedor cold with a shot or quick combination. If he "only" hurts Fedor and then the fight is taken to the ground, then Fedor will find a way to submit him. In this case, I predict Fedor will win by submission because he's a smart fighter all around, but certainly, Arlovski stands a chance. I also agree, I'd like to see Arlovski back to the Octagon. Fedor should finally sign there as well so that we can finally see him up against the very best matchups, not against UFC castoffs.
I'm even scared of him.
Sounds like two countries or the title of a Godzilla flick! LOL!
Good hook mentioning Tyson and Chicago. Makes me want to watch.
The Arlovski video is impressive and looks convincing, but Fedor is the real deal. Most die hard MMA fans have seen Fedor fight and know he's not a fluke. Watching this video reminded me of the HBO 24/7 series covering the Roy Jones vs. Joe Calzaghe matchup a couple of months ago and the video clips on Jones' training and talking to the camera were also very well done and convincing, but then came fight night and Jones laid a serious goose egg and was thoroughly dominated from Round 2 on. Since then, I haven't really taken the video segments as just pre-fight hype now, but regardless, Arlovski has a puncher's chance in this upcoming fight as long as the fight stays off the ground.
the best thing about MMA is that with 4 oz. gloves anyone can win on any given day. Arlovski is one of the best technical strikers in MMA. his greatest weaknesses are his chin and his heart, unfortunately these are strengths for Fedor. Arlovski's lack of aggressiveness lead to his falling out with Dana White and the UFC. he has been better since switching leagues. I think Fedor is undefeated because of his intelligence as much as his strength and heart. he understands how dangerous Arlovski's hands are. I think he will try to close the distance and smother Arlovski like he did against Cro Cop.unless Arlovski can get a quick knockout, I see Fedor dominating like he usually does. Fedor is ripe for a loss, but is the better fighter.
I don't follow MMA, and I pretty much gave up on professional boxing after watching Mike Tyson drag the sport through the muck.
Nevertheless, I truly enjoyed the video. And based on that, (along with the fact that my wife is from Russia) I think I'll try and catch his next fight on TV.
As long as it doesn't cost me too much money.
very interesting fight, arlovski has alot of skills but his mind game has been known to be weak,of course hes gona be hungry tho because anybody that finally beats fedor will have their career shoot through the roof, but ultimately i think fedor will dispose of him without many problems, hes used to the ring and has fought bigger guys, better strikers than arlovski, and his gameplans are always right on. i predict a fedor win in the 2nd round after some ground and pound and a submission
i like arlovski beacuse hes carrying a dynamite in his fists but his just very easy to knock out
