Still savoring the Bears' rout of perhaps the worst team in the NFL?

A poll on suntimes.com/sports reflects the fans' attitude that the game reflected the Rams' ineptitude more than the Bears' excellence.

You've seen the best coverage of the Bears' romp over the Rams on suntimes.com/sports, so let's take a look at some of the other coverage.

In the Belleville News-Democrat, Rams coach Jim Haslett said it was dumb to call for the fake punt that resulted in a penalty.

Their writer also was consistent in his grading of the Rams.

The Trib's blogger said if the Bears could only play the Rams or Lions every week, they would be playoff-bound.

One local scribe said the Bears' playoff hopes rest on Matt Forte's shoulders.

Here are the Trib's grades for the Bears.

St. Louis Post-Dispatch columnist Bernie Miklasz has run out of words to describe the Rams while lineman Richie Incognito continues his feud with Rams fans. Check out the picture of Incognito egging on the fans and then saying he got off the field as soon as possible.

The Daily Herald celebrated a big two-interception day for Lance Briggs.

Looking ahead, the Minnesota Star-Tribune says the Vikings could be the favorites in the NFC North.

The S-T also said Vikes QB Gus Frerotte is feeling a little beat up, but he's not getting any sympathy from his coach Brad Childress.

Star-Tribune columnist Jim Souhan praises Childress for holding out Adrian Peterson for two series after he was late for a team meeting.

Roman, please don't ever post a link to "Rosenblog." You're a good guy and I think it's best that you have zero associations with the garbage on that evil thing's blog.

Mike...now you know I have to check his site out....

its true...bad advertising is still better than none..

cause..if you hadnt had said this, I never wouldve even noticed his site.

After watching about 5 games this season, work and other commitments have only given me this much fun(allegedly). I can now weigh in on the bears. They should put Williams in there, and move St. Clair over, Beekman is getting killed. Hester's wr play is really affecting his returns, as a wr, you have to finish the route, as a returner, you can freelance. Too much freelancing as a returner.
Urlacher has been replaced by Briggs as the man. Tommie Harris needs about one more offseason to get it together. Mark anderson is only a pass rusher. Mike Brown is the key to our rushing defense, he plays heads up. Brandon Lloyd won our hearts, then sat on the injured list and lost them. And finally.....coming from me....the man who rides shotgun on the rexwagon.....

Kyle Orton needs to be locked up, longterm. He has innate skills I just do not sense Grossman has, I think even if they do not lock Orton up, Rex cannot be the starter. One play summed it up. Orton about to get sacked, flips to Forte, he's stopped a yard short, breaks the tackle, gains the first down, goes as a rush on the stat sheets. Rex never woulda done that, showed me all I needed to know, he knows where everyone is and uses them well. He still sometimes hits guys in the legs, neck, behind them, over him, still erratic, but he has moxie, I like it.

Chuck --

Welcome to the Orton Fun-Vee! The drinks are on Rex, too (it's in his contract).

Re News & Notes on the Bears...

Did you read Haugh's Trib article about Tommie Harris this a.m.? One partly decent game and Haugh is saying Harris has signaled the league he is back to being a dominant player.

The Bears (or Harris... or both) must be paying Haugh by the word.

What crap! No doubt if Harris records one or two more sacks this season he will be demanding that the Bears rework his deal.

The Trib needs to rework its sports department. These guys are clueless.

Sorry Seedy I get back so late. No email at home, gonna get it by Christmas though, all these moves, and I just finally settled into my new place. Harris has looked real average, and judging by the injury, it is expected. No man cauld have his hamstring torn off the bone, and come back the next year and be dominant, he needs more time to heal, still like him though, and you are right, he will want W Sapp's so you think you can dance money too. Bears sucked sunday, but I can live with it there. Just gotta beat up on this easy schedule the rest of the season. Go Bears, and Go Forte.
