I've tried to stay away from the movement to get Lovie Smith fired.
After all, it started during the Bears' Super Bowl year. People like pretending they know more than the coach no matter the circumstances, but Sunday's game did not reflect well on the Bears' coach.
First of all, can we all agree now that the Bears miss Ron Rivera? Yes, the Bears are a couple of years older than the SB year, but they shouldn't be so far over the hill that they get handled like this by this Green Bay Packers team.
They went from a fearsome unit to a laughable one. At least they were good against the run before this week. Their lack of a pass rush has been stunning. I'm not sure if it's the scheme, but I do know under Rivera they were getting to the QB and they were stripping the ball.
And Lovie's playcalling, especially before the half, reflects very poorly on his preparedness. In fact, the whole team looked ill-prepared for this game, and it was a fairly big game.
So at some point, the head coach should be held accountable. Is it enough to get him canned? We'll see after the season.
It is very sad week after week to watch this defense stumble to mediocrity. No wide receivers while B Berrian, B Wade, B Ingram, J Gage all start for other NFL teams.
This team is done, a head coach with no emotion, a D coordinator without a clue and a general manager who can not evaluate talent. Chris Harris to Carolina. Not to mention ownership that does not care about winning as long as they are making money.
Good luck to the faithfull Bears fans that have to put up with this.
Sorry Roman, but Lovie is here to stay, besides, do you really want to see ANOTHER botched hiring with the Bears getting the second or third choice at coach ? The players are responsable for their play. Time to trade whoever we can, ala Kansas City and stockpile draft picks. Hey Jerry, I'M old and slow too, mind throwing a million MY WAY ?
It's time for Lovie Smith to move on (and backward) to the collegiate level (Tennessee) and time for the Bears to get in the Bill Cowher sweepstakes. This team needs a coach that will instill enthusiasm and heart !!
First of all, Lovie hardly ever blatantly blames himself for anything. He is a stubborn-to-a-mega-fault football coach who evidently can only coach one system and requires little more than a "yes man" to pilot his defense. I can't believe how much credit we give to Lovie for getting us to the Super Bowl. That may have been a curse in disguise as this success now has a supreme hand in making him our football coach for a very long time. Even "da coach" couldn't be our coach for too long and his personality captured the imagination of virtually all of Chicago!
I listened to a reporter on the sideline interview Lovie and he said in his typical tone "we'll make the necessary adjustments at halftime." Boy, did he ever! He is a wizard at his craft, isn't he? Heck, I think he should be our coach for life because, as so many suggest, he can't block and tackle. This is an interrogative to those coaching apologists, "When is it the coach's fault?" Someone from that point of view please answer that question for a myriad of fans who believe quite the opposite.
Hey Roman, how about that talk about the University of Tennessee being interested in Lovie? Think Lovie got a little Nick Saban and Bobby Petrino in him? Time will tell
The inept coaching staff and the over paid, under achieving players are the responsibility of Angelo. He should be fired first, then proceed down the organizational chart.
Doug Buffone and others have pointed out specific flaws but the coaching staff seems unable to grasp. Today he railed pregame about just the kind on play that was the Packer's first td. This was before the game, not after!!!!
Time to can Angelo AND coaching staff!!
Roman, i couldn't agree more. The Bears looked like they weren't prepared. There is something obviously wrong with this defense, I give the Packers credit but there is no way that this defense should be looking this bad. If they don't score 30, they don't have a chance to win
Unfortunately, this isn't the only blow out on "D" we've had this year. Even tho' we beat Minnesota, they still put up 41 points. Not good. Detroit was also close and shouldn't have been. Got lucky against a Philly team that TIED Cincy today. As far as I'm concerned, we should only have 2 wins (Indy and the first Det game).
Wins hide mistakes and problems. I hope we get them corrected, or at least lose to get them corrected sooner than next year.
Can Lovey? Are you kidding?
Lovey made a major adjustment since last week. Now we are a balanced defense. We allow just as many rushing yards as we do passing yard!
I think the Bears players are better than the coaching staff. Conventional wisdom says that the players win or lose the game. They play the game. Yes, but to a degree. This management and coaching staff is inconsistent at best. Lovie and his staff make the worst half time adjustments in the NFL. Babich and his cover two defense have taken the teeth out of a once proud group. I don't think they have responded to this coach or his scheme. I have thought Ron Turner should go since he has been here. At times he looks brilliant. More often his attack is predictable to the point a novice can guess the next play call. To his defense, this is one bad offensive line, and one mediocre set of receivers. At the end of the day it all runs through Lovie. The buck has to stop somewhere. And as far as bucks go, it seems they did not go far with Briggs, Hester, and Urlacher. Overall this group, especially the defense is underachieving. I blame the men in charge.
LOVIE SMITH SAID WE WILL MAKE THE NECESSARY ADJUSTMENTS AT HALF TIME, ZZZZZZZZZZZ !!!!! SAME OLD LOVIE, SAY THE RIGHT THING DO NOTHING , LOVIE SMITH WHO ARE YOU CRAPIN !!!!!!
I worked today, ( 11 hours )as I have for the past three Sunday's. Overtime is optional, and as a rule, I used to refuse Sunday work during the football season.
Not any more.
The economy sucks, and so do the Bears; so I figure I'm better off with the $600 I made today than I'd be if I had spent an almost equal amount to watch the Bears, had they been playing at home.
I'm not a big fan of hitting the "caps" key, but in this case I'll make an exception:
They're NOT worth it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Not worth your money.
Not worth your time.
Not worth the emotional investment.
They're worthless.
I caught the score on WSCR's postgame show, and it only reinforced my belief that I made the right decision in abandoning this lackluster football team for the opportunity to make a few bucks.
They're gutless, brainless, and heartless.
And please don't waste your time telling me that I'm not a, "True Fan".
What I'm NOT ...... is a, "sucker".
I am sooooo sick of how poorly this defense is playing. I couldn't even watch the game ( I live in Dayton, Ohio) because they televised the Bungles game??? That in itself is a statement, when the Bengals override an NFC North battle for first place. Can Lovie and his bff.
The problem isn't the coach or scheme, the problem is the d-line. When you run cover 2, the key to it working is for the front four to get pressure, and be able to get penetration. Since the superbowl season this has not happened. They went into the season knowing this, thats why they came up with having the linebackers play the line. The only problem with this formation, the linebackers can't get into the zones to stop quick slants, and 15 yard ins an outs. You see it even when we blitz, they always seem to be blocked(linebackers, safties). When Tommie Harris was getting that good penetration and Wale had to be doubled our linebackers would be able to attack the runners, now there are always blockers on them allowing runners to get to the secondary( like today when we ran cover 2, or cover 1). The bears need to get away from these little lineman, 250 lbs d-ends, and 270-290 lbs tackles. Most o-lines are pushing us around. Our Lb's are still good the d-line, ain't getting done. Just look at Tampa Bay, when they do blitz linebackers and safties they get through because their d-line gets it done. Believe me Belichek or Cohwer wouldn't fare better with this defensive line.
Lovie has got to go.. As usual, the Bears organization does not care about a winning team.. It is all about money or the poor choices that go along with that thought.
I have never been a fan of Dummy Smith and the Bears going to the Super Bowl did not change that. It reinforced it in my mind. That title was right there for the taking and he had no idea of how to grab it.
He is out coached in every game that they play and I really believe that they win games in spite of him.
Try to think of just one moment where Lovie rose to the challenge and his moves lead to a win. Try to remember a single game where Lovie out coached his counter part.
A single game where you did not yell at the TV at least once and ask “WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING?”
He never seems to have a grasp on the situation at hand and everything is hindsight for this staff.
He stands on the sideline looking like a deer in the headlights week after week while the needed adjustments are as scarce as a pork chop in a Saudi lunch buffet.
No sense of urgency.
No idea on how to manage the clock.
No clue about how certain situations can and probably will lead to missed opportunities for the Bears and unnecessary ones given to the opponents. He did it again before the half and let the Packers have another shot at scoring...and they took advantage of it.
Or him I should say.
He is never looking even one play ahead and the game plan seems to be a mish mosh of random moments. Like each play of the drive is not connected to any of the others and that goes for both sides of the ball.
Alzheimer’s football is what I call it.
Have a 2nd and eight situation and momentum on your side? Then Dummy Smith will guarantee you 3rd and seven and a drive killing answer every time.
Have a play on either side of the ball that is working and the other team does not have an answer? Then Dummy Smith will save the day and stop running the play because “They were going to figure it out and stop it eventually”
Remember him saying that? Dumbest thing that I have ever heard a coach say in my life.
It seems that his whole philosophy is to play and pray for field position and that will lead to an occasional score.
That may have worked when Devin Hester was giving you the ball at mid field all the time but now he has to be a real live grown up NFL coach and the cupboard is empty.
Speaking of Hester…. why is it obvious to everyone under the sun but Dummy Smith that Manning is far more productive returning kicks than Hester at this point?
Make the damn change and start living in THIS season already!
“Bend but don’t break” means you are fine with giving up ground in 10 yard chunks until the other team scores just as long as they did not burn you for a 60 yard TD. What a moral victory coach!
"We'll look at duh film an go from thar"
"Tough lose... what can ya say... Evra won played extremely hurd..."
"Like I said... Rex is our Quarterback"
"We get off duh bus runnin duh ball"
Just gibberish mumbled by a guy who is clearly in over his head and is not the coach to take them any place but .500 and another head scratching draft choice come April.
Hey...the Bears might not be able to afford Cowher..but how about Obama? I mean..he's been president for nearly a week. He must be getting bored by now. If he can save the world...maybe he can save this poor excuse for a football team.
I worked today too...
If I sell they buy one of the two houses they liked out of the 45 I showed them in 2 days. I will make 10K.
I figure thats nearly 1K for every over thrown Ball that Orton couldve completed for first downs.
Here is what cracks me up the Most...
I went back and re-read the Live Chat....and Roman..
you said this..
Roman Modrowski: WHAT'S THE POINT OF HAVING ORTON IN THERE NOW
My Answer to your profound question is...
Maybe they wanted him to at least break 150 yards passing with his 13/26 passing.
What are we betting that Orton wont sniff a Superbowl EVER?
WHAT A SAD SACK OF SHIP PARTS!
Had the privilege of going to a Father/Daughter football gathering at a local pizza joint out at Northern Illinois. Great to see the daughter, pizza was O.K., door prizes were cool, and played my first $2 squares of the season. As for the game; holy----! I knew the 'O' may struggle a bit with a gimpy Orton, but the play calling was as bland as South-of-the-border jail mush. G.B. ran left 8 times in a row; EIGHT! Special teams didn't block a lick, Harris and Dusty never made any push forward, the corners must have thought the Pack receivers had the worse contagious disease on earth, the first Bear contact on any G.B. run was a pinball, #55 was obsolete, #54 was one less, AGAIN not a blitz in sight and I swear I could hear Papa Bear through the ceiling tiles at halftime screaming to; "FIRE THAT ?*@ OF $#!? NOW!"
Lovie is too soft and too blinded to be in such a position of a truly barbaric sport. There is nothing like a mean streak in a player or coach to get the ball rolling and there seems to be a strange aura of Skittles colors coming out of this coaching staff that SCREAMS SOFT.
I agree 100%: nothing like a square chin to chisel this group back to what they are capable of doing. A Cowher would never let this happen; never. No spark, no adjustments, no preparedness, nothing. Just a blank stare like the one on Lovies face every time the camera shows him, and I know everyone sees the same thing time after time.
Todays game was SICK, and I hope Papa Bear rolls into someones dream real fast. Otherwise, I fear this nightmare to only get worse.
LOVIE,
THESE PLAYERS DON'T RESPECT YOU, WORK FOR YOU, AND QUITE FRANKLY, IT APPEARS THEY CAN'T STAND YOU. i KNOW THE SEASON TICKEET HOLDERS HAVE STOPPED PURCHASING ANYTHING WHILE AT THE HOME GAMES AND SOON, JUST LIKE WE HAD TO DO TO HAVE THAT OLD BAT VIRGINIA GET THE POINT WITH WANNSTADT, WE ARE GOING TO KEEP OUR SEASON TICKETS AND PUT NO BUTTS IN THE SEATS. THEN WHEN WERE ON TV YOUR STADIUM WILL BE VISIBLY EMPTY. SECTIONS 430, 435, 230 WE HAVE TRIED TO WRITE YOU ABOUT OUR DESIRES, BUT YOU ARN'T GETTING THE MESSAGE. THIS GUY, LOVIE SMITH HAS RUINED THIS TALENTED TEAM. FIRE HIM BEFORE MONDAY, MAKE TURNER THE INTERIM COACH AND CHALK THIS UP TO YET ANOTHER COACHING FAILURE. LIKE YOU, WE LOVED RON RIVERA BUT LOVIE DIDN'T. HE HAS MADE TERRIBLE COACHING AND PERSONAL DECISSIONS. IN ANY BUSINESS, MAKING THIS MANY BAD DECISIONS GETS YOU FIRED. EITHER HE IS GONE, OR YOUR CUSTOMERS WILL BE. YOU DECIDE AND DECIDE FAST!
OK,OK,OK- I figured out why Hester can't get run back any punts or kickoff's anymore- the money in his pockets he got for a new contact is weighing him down. Wish I had problems like that.
I'm going into hibernation.
Wake me up when the nightmare is over.
Great points everyone. I think it all starts at the top and that's the McCaskeys. The Bears sell more gear than most teams and they are always sold out. I think it's time for Bear fans to quit acting like Cub fans(I'm a Sox fan) and stop supporting them. I can't Bear to watch this mess. I'm sick of looking at Lovies' blank expression no matter what happens. I believe Angelo and Lovie are both talentless. Angelo drafts and Lovie plays them. They both should go
How do you get rid of the coordinator who produced a 5th ranked defense and higher a guy who spent that year holding a clip board.
This was a rivalry game and we played like botches.
Go S.F and Tenn. That's where the last real Bears are coaching.
If the Bears miss the playoffs, one has to wonder if Lovie and Babich will be fired. Can there be a return of Ron Rivera, this time as head coach?
Bears coaches- "We'll have to look at the film"
I got a better Idea- Take the game film, put it in your pipe and smoke it".
When's the draft? 1) Get a safety who can cover. 2) Get a d lineman who can rush the passer. 3) Get a linebacker who can shake a blocker and tackle. We can't start totally over but we'll rebuild. Lovie's not going anywhere. However, I think he might might the bullet and bring in a new d and /or o coach. We're stuck with Angello too. Their contracts won't be eaten.
Roman and the rest of you, I am shocked. Haven't you been chided and scolded by William R. Donald? He believes it's downright silly to express our disappointment with the current coaching staff. So let's all whip out our crayola crayons and paper bags, draw some happy faces on them, and then wear them to the next game to show how pleased we are with Lovie, Boob Babich et. co.
But seriously folks, Lovie was known for two things: defense and beating Green Bay. The defense is a train wreck, and as most of us assumed, Rivera was the mastermind behind the D. And it's not just us in Chicago who believe that, Commentator Joe Buck was saying the exact same thing. Rivera's Chargers D didn't do too bad today by the way.
As for Green Bay, well...
In short, Smith is absolutely worthless now as Head Coach. He and yes-man Babich should've been fired after the Atlanta game. They should be fired after this one too for playing Orton who was obviously still injured.
Wait, what am I saying? I don't want to be chided.
Happy faces folks! We're all smiles!
When was the last time you ever saw another team adjusting to what the Bears were doing offensively or defensively. It's always the Bears reacting, or in most cases trying to react to the their opponents' gameplan. The coaching staff is incompetent and incapable when it comes to making adjustments.
Or better yet, how about the bears go out there and impose their will on their opponent from the start - when was the last time you saw that happen?
Don't blame Babich or Turner. Make no mistake this is Lovie Smith's team and gameplan and he needs to go NOW!
Pull the brinks truck up to the NBC studios and throw whatever it takes to pry Bill Cowher out of his studio analyst chair. Well, it's nice to dream because we all know that will never happen, at least not with the McCaskey's in charge.
I bailed at half time to run around the corner to Guitar Center.
What a relief!
I would rather talk to some condescending sales guy named Steve over there then to watch the condescending sales guy named Lovie any day.
Came back just in time to see the total melt down.
not saying this will happen, but...
...if this season turns around, what will you say about Lovie then?
Here's the deal, Lovie Supported Obama who is also unqualified for office. Just like Obama who surrounds himself with questionable characters, Resko, Wright and Bill Ayers, Lovie surrounds himself with incompetent players.. Then just like Obama who wants to punish the taxpayers and promises the world to anyone who is dumb enough to vote for him, Lovie wants to stick it to the fans with last year’s defense. Both Lovie and Obama are guaranteed losers.
Please fire Lovie. He was brought in as a defensive mind. But since Rivera left, his defenses have been terrible. And you know what? He has never had a top 10 defense of his own.
Better start calling Cowher or Rivera now.
Well, they are in first place. And they have a weak schedule so they could still make the playoffs, but won't be pretty. What was that running play the packers kept hammering the bears with? The radio announcers called it almost a like a rugby scrum. It looked like three of the packers o line would angle block all tightly packed together and just push and ride the bears d line at an angle across the field. No way any of the bears d line was big or strong enough to stop all three of them, and in order for the bears to try and stay in their gaps they had to slide backward and along the line in front of the scrum. Then on the back side of this wedge, there was two solo blocks and huge cut back lanes, really really big gaps.
It looked like an easy way to defeat the gap control fronts the bears were playing, especially when the bears were trying to stop the pass. Forget the cover two, this was in every coverage, and is the whole scheme for the bears front d line.
Looks like every team in the league now knows how to beat the bears' defense, both with the pass and now with the run. And it's not just the cover 2, it's the gap control fronts too. Guess you can't keep doing the same thing year after year and not expect people to figure it out. Only question now is can the Bears come up with anything new to play that will work, or will they even try?
I think lovie may still turn out to be a good coach, just don't think it will be here in chicago. Sometimes a coach needs to change jobs once or twice so they can make changes and improve things without losing face or looking bad in the place they were at first. Like Jauron going on to buffalo and benefitting from all the tough times in chicago. Hard to change and make major adjustments in the heat of a season and the glare of the media and fans. Lovie just needs the right opportunity to come along and he'll do fine somewhere. He'll probably have to go through a couple of rough seasons before the bears are willing to give up on his multiple year big dollar contract but no doubt he'll land on his feet somewhere. This almost always happens with first time rookie head coaches, its the exception that just stays at one place anymore.
I just can't take this no more! Game after game after game the smae old mess.Nothing new, nothing fresh. No one even mentions "Monsters of the Midway" anymore because the defense doesn't scare anybody.Anytime a player or team tells you before a game that they know its gonna be holes open in your defense that receivers can be open in and then goes out and does exactly that all game long... its the ultimate sign of no respect.I echo what others are saying in that this defense, which was being compared to the "85 Bears" a couple of years ago, hasn't been the same since Ron Rivera left. Bob Babich is not the answer. The whole coaching scheme and coaches including Angelo the GM don't seem to have a clue on how to put a winning program together.Time for a gut check! Please!
As a true Bears fan, I am sick of being told I should not blame the coaches, management, or the players for their COMBINED failures. This is a bad team. Lovie and his coaches left Orton on the bench while giving us the Rex debacle for years.
Lovie fired our defensive coordinator when we were the most feared unit in the league. Lovie sounded like a parrot mouthing "Rex is our quarterback!" over the past few years. He never demanded production from the position, and he never got any. He hasn't demanded that Babich's kids produce, either, and you can see what is going on.
These players - one after another - have demanded, and got, outrageous contracts, then disappeared. And I am tired of hearing about schemes, injuries, and bad luck... those are all excuses people user for "no heart" and "no preparation". If these guys don't - or can't - step it up, maybe it's time to flip burgers or sweep up litter in the streets. There should be a law against impersonating an NFL player.
Last, Jerry A needs to step and admit he has made one STUPID decision after another - Haynes, Grossman, Bradley, Benson, the Muhammed and Archuleta pick ups, trading Chris Harris for squat. Getting a few mid and late rounders right doesn't make for a good record, or a good team. Please, no one bring up the Hester pick again, either.
I think that has to be one of the worst games Love has coached as a bear. This was a complete meltdown. That is why LAST WEEK's game was so important and the ones that were within our grasp. You just have to chalk this one up to a bad day at the office. That means, while I am angry as a Bear, I don't consider this the last straw.
Roman you are absolutely correct - NOW its time to "look" at Lovie because he is starting to become part of the problem. Poor management of the clock before halftime was a MAJOR momentum swing. Those 3 points are to be credited DIRECTLY to Lovie. I never thought I would be calling Lovie out, but for the first time IMHO he has been the reason the Bears went backwards instead of forwards. I have even given him a pass with his conservative style, and that is all the more reason to NEVER make a mental mistake like that. I cannot remember the last time we laid an egg like this. See thats how good Lovie has been in the past. Even he knows, that you don't lose to Green Bay like this. Its a complete embarrassment reflective of the temperature of this organization. Bears offered NO resistance to their bitter divisional rivals. MUST NOT HAPPEN AGAIN.
We are getting NOTHING on special teams except from Robbie Gould. Turner is too predictable. Babich IS an idiot who needs some media lessons or something (He is Palin-ish). KREAM (above) effectively described whats wrong with the defense. Offense put up 3 points. Recipe for disaster. Looked liked the Washingon Generals vs. the Globe Trotters!
Villano and Culzie - in the words of John Witherspoon "count-joe-pay-pah...now count-it-ahgin!!" I fell asleep at halftime (me and my buddy), I woke up played a video game with my son and went to Sams Club with my wife in the 4th. I am still a Bears fan, but like Kenny Rogers sang, you gotta know when to walk away, and when to run.
Coaching is to blame unfortunately! Rex should have still started for an effective offense to rest the defense! We have a great team with no Leadership! Kyle Orton was limping the whole game! How do you not Realize this? Just call him Gimpy! The Coach that is!
People This Was A Green Bay Bear Rivalry Wasn't it? No Sense of urgency, no desire! NO HEART!!!!!!!!!!!!! What's going on?????
Uh yeah! I would say that this game was enough of a statement to sway the audience into a "Fire Lovie" movement. We got to the SB with coaches that predated Lovie's time here (Rivera). The lack of an offense that year was confounding, but considering who we had at QB, not especially so.
But the removal of Rivera and the installment of Babich followed by a year and a half of mediocre football should serve as a wake up call that Lovie is not ready for prime time. I bet he hired Babich because he was a "yes man". I bet he constantly but heads with Ron because Ron had a better handle on things and Lovie got jealous. But who PLAYED this game shoulder to shoulder with more legends? Rivera. Unlike Singletary, we can see that Rivera is well suited to be a coach RIGHT NOW as he is already a talented defensive play caller in his own right. Maybe Lovie sensed that Ron could have had his job and needed to remove the threat...? Maybe I'm just a conspiracy theorist, but I think there is some truth in at least one of these speculations. Lovie needs to go.
The solution is in all likelihood just too simple for the brain of Lovie to comprehend. Run the football; play "smart and aggressive" defense; and win games! My wife, who does not really follows the team, said to me yesterday as we watched the game on tv "Every time I see the Bears Coach on sideline he has the same expression on his face, like he is on drugs". I said correctomundo to a very accurate diagnosis. What I wouldn't give for a nice simple run-oriented smart defense Bears win of 7-0. The Georges (Halas, Bill and Allen) must be spinning in their graves.
I have been a fan since the fifties and can not recall a team more deviod emotion that this one. It starts with the coaches and ends with the coaches. They are the leaders and have failed miserably at instilling a winning program. Lovie was lucky with the one run he had and gave the boot to the one that did instill some emotion into the team. Time for the Halas clan to step to the plate and clean house and get some people with the skills to lead this team. I can no longer watch the rest of the season and this is the first time since being a fan that I have thought that or decided that is what one should do. We are not better than the Lions and the only one to think so is Lovie. Time to move on Halas clan.
Coaches are always the first ones blamed for travesties in player performance. No matter how good a defensive or offensive game plan is, execution is necessary or abysmal mediocrity will result. Blame the players, who showed the passion of a typical twelve-year old dog that hates to see his nap interrupted---, get up, turn around, lie down, and go back to sleep.I thought Orton should have been kept out another game because of his injury and Grossman's record at Green Bay. That would have been a coach's decision, but without the players executing, the game would have been equally pathetic.
I'm so glad this is the topic. For once I was able to hear the pre-game interview on the radio with Lovie and he literally said nothing but cliches for 5 minutes. He repeated "we have our game-faces on" several times. He said absolutely nothing relevant about the actual game, preparation or specific players. All cliches for 5 minutes. So I'm just left wondering how he possibly communicates with the team. Do they really pay attention to that garbage?
But now, how is he going to prepare for the Rams? I'm not joking. We've made every opposing QB look like Dan Marino. We've proven week in and week out you can beat us in the air, you can beat us on the ground and we'll let you score 30+ points on us. Tommie Harris gives me a stomachache. Kyle at 50% is no better than Rex at 100%. Danieal Manning should be returning punts. I could go on, but what's the point. We all know how this season is going to end.
I am so sick of "we will make the necessary adjustments", "we have been down this road before", "we are still tied for first place", "no one is finger pointing", blah blah blah blah blah. He needs a shrink... this is called denial!! I agree with someone who wrote earlier, when HAS he made adjustments or coached to where it made a difference??? He has gotten by not because of his coaching, but more because of luck, Devin Hester (when he was Devin Hester) and a defense coached by someone who knew what to do. I could call a better defensive game plan and make adjustments better than bff. Hey Lovie, give me a call and pay me to be your consultant. Better yet, sice you were deemed to be a defensive guru, before you were hired, do what some other coaches are doing and take over that side ofthe ball. If it fails, then we know that you ARE to blame. If not, then it is your beloved bff. Either way, someone will have to go.
What makes me sick...is last two years we had the same problems...and ALL the blame was placed SOLELY on REX.
Kyle Orton SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
FACE FACTS PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm still sick of what you would call a defensive performance. If anything it was offensive to call it defensive. I saw an interview done with Jennings, of the Pack, and he said that he watched film on previous games of the Bears defense and found holes all over the place. If a player from another team sees this, why doesn't the Bears coaching staff?? Do they not review game tape?? Do they not look at what went wrong?? Do they not say to the players,"Why did you do this when you should have done this"? Do they do anything with the ton of information, screaming at them, on what is wrong with the defense. Coaching requires a self examination of what went wrong, why it went wrong and what could have been done to correct it. Then when is before the next game. I'm so sick that I didn't even spend time following the game on gamecast, I instead watched a rental movie. A movie that I don't think even made it to the theaters. Sad. They are truly unBEARable.
Some great points especially kream it all starts with that light/small defensive line, the DE's look worse than they are because there is no push up the middle and not only have they been exposing the linebackers but the safeties and corners as well. With no push it leaves passing lanes and the O-linemen are getting to the second level. Bottomline it's Angelo and Lovie for buying into this little and fast defensive line theory, they have not caught up to the idea of large mobile linemen no longer being out maneuvered by small quick ones. ALL the very good defenses have that one monster of a tackle that anchors and pushes the middle back into the backfield that is also why our O-line is overwhelmed they are too small. The Bears have to catch up to the times "BIG IS BETTER" and right now thats the difference.
Two years ago we were compared similar with the Giants... Look at where the Giants are and where we are now. Fire this sorry ass coaching staff!
One example from yesterday: Harris was covering Olson when he was in slot. That leaves someone open. All Turner had to do was put Olson in slot and use him as a decoy until GB cought on, but our adjustments = the same thing.
Geno nailed it.
The players (at least the defense) don't appear to like or respect Lovie or Babich. They have played like crap all season. The only players who seem to show emotion are Alex Brown, Payne and Briggs. I mean, why are players like Tommie Harris and Mark Anderson even on the field. I would rather see a tired but competitive Idonije, Harrison and Ogunleye rather than Harris and an utterly lost Anderson.
Orton shouldn't have played or at least if you are going to play him, let him run an offense. Whatever it was that we ran was not offense. I mean, we get 7 or 8 yards on a first down run and then run it twice more and can't pick up a first down? We throw to our TEs early, but never again. We can't manhandle a Dline that has been manhandled all season.
I think the game against the Rams will be telling. IF the Bears are embarrassed about their performance against the Packers, they will pummell the Rams. IF on the other hand they have tuned out Lovie/Babich, this game will be one of the ugliest, most boring games to watch.
Tick tock, tick tock.
Lovie, the clock is two minutes to midnight.
Bculz, go sell some real estate. Orton is way better than Grossman (even Aikman said it during the broadcast) and Grossman "leading" the Bears to a Super Bowl is a gross exaggeration of what actually happened.
Lovie Smith is a fraud of a football coach, but in the end Jerry Angelo is the one most at fault for hiring him. Jerry, Lovie and coaching staff need to go at the end of the season if ownership cares about us Bears' fans... What I predict will happen is that the Bears will finish 7-9 and then Lovie will fire Ron Turner and use him as the scapegoat for everything gone wrong. He will then proceed to tell us to "trust him" just like he did when he let Ron Rivera go. We then will suffer through another mediocre season before Angelo forces Smith to fire the clueless BFF Babich. It's going to be a long couple of years for us Bears fans before the obvious happens and that is to fire Lovie and hire a real coach like Cowher... I hope I'm wrong, but my instincts tell me otherwise. Go Bears!!!
Hey Mike, ummmm....it's obvious you didn't realize the record of the Chargers and the fact that they LOST or you wouldn't have made such a STUPID statement stating how good the Chargers played today Under Ron Rivera....
Lovie has a choice. Fire Turner and Babich before this season is over or he's gone. He is clearly on the hot seat. He needs to realize that he made a mistake in picking Babich and he has to go. This blind loyalty to this coaching staff and the players has to end. Heads must start to roll. No more "we'll go from there" drawl. Suck it up and bring in coaches who like to attack on defense, and who knows how to create a "today's-style" offense.
That was embarassing as a fan to watch yesterday and am stunned that the so called "leaders" on this team haven't been pulled to the carpet for this as well. Urlacher, Harris and other so calls all have gotten paid, which brings us to the ring leader of this pathetic circus, Jerry Angelo. I remember reading an article awhile back calling Angelo one of the top GM's in football. I laughed then, and I am laughing even more now. We are now saddled with huge contracts to a punt returner who now doesn't know what he is doing, a injury prone overated DT, and an aging LB with a neck/back. We gave long term contracts to two DB's whom all of sudden can't cover. We gave 15 mil to a RB who is now running for another team. We drafted an OL with bad back and while other "smart" teams shyed away. Don't forget Okwo, Baziun, and other BUSTS.....
No, Angelo put this crap together, he MUST be first in line at the chopping block.
Lovie, you BETTER do something fast, or you're gone....
BEARS
Its a pure disgrace to the Chicago Bears play the way that they did. If Kyle Orton is not healthy enough he should not play out all. There relying on a rookie running back to do to much, how in the world is your RB. your leading rusher, leading reciever, and also lead your team in catches. "F***ing horrible" Bob Babich needs to escorting from Halas Hall first thing this morning his defensive playing is next to horrific, Lovie Smith needs to take charge period point blank. Players is always out position ie Daniel Manning, this guy been messing up for 3yrs consisently and if this was the real world he would have been fired. Nathan Vasher is just sorry pure simple. The Defensive Line need to look in the mirror because all of them suck major azz. I'm tired I'm done
Questions to ponder:
1) Would Bob Babich be a defensive coordinator on any other NFL team?
2) Can anyone tell me the last time the Bears actually made adjustments at half time?
3) Will Urlacher give back money now that he is "under playing" (the opposite of last year's "out playing") his contract?
4) Will the Bears have the gall to raise our ticket prices again in 2009?
Serenity Now!!!!!
This was the first Bears game that I have seen in years where I knew we had no chance of winning BEFORE HALFTIME. How depressing that we can't get it together for our arch-rival Green Bay. I think our season is over.
Roman,
I'm glad you've seen the light and are joining the "Fire Lovie" movement. As I have been saying for two years, Lovie is total disaster as a Head Coach and the coaches under him suck. Period end of story. Lovie is making this Team the Detroit Lions Western Branch. Or the Raider's Eastern Branch. Take your pick.
In fact I wrote on this Blog that the players should quit playing hard in order to get Lovie fired. I took heat for saying that and so I followed up with a Blog stating that the players didn't have to quit playing just execute Lovie's schemes and they would lose the rest of their games.
On Sunday, both of those things happened: 1, The players executed Lovie's schemes and "adjustments" to the letter and Green Bay crushed them running and throwing. 2, There is no question that they quit on Lovie. They have no confidence that Lovie and the coaches are leading them in the right direction.
But why should we expect any different? From Angelo on down this organization is a total mess.
The only solution right now is to have the fans stop supporting the Team with their time and money. Until the McCaskeys start losing money they won't make a change. So Fans, stop watching the games on TV to kill the ratings, don't buy tickets to the games, Season Ticket Holders don't renew your Tickets, stop buying and wearing Bear's Gear.
Put all your energy into the "Fire Lovie Campaign". Blog, send E-Mail and Letters to Bear's management, fill up the phone lines on Talk Radio with anti-Lovie calls and if we are lucky they will fire him before year's end. Otherwise the Team is doomed.
And don't feel sorry for Lovie and want to give him a chance. He won't be unemployed for long, he worships Obama and we already know Obama loves to be worshipped. Maybe Obama could hire him as Chief Bootlicker for the President. Even Lovie couldn't mess up that gig.............well maybe he could if he hired Turner and Babich to be Bootlicker Coordinators.
Either way let's start the ball rolling now.
Yell our chant: S.O.B!!!!!
SAVE OUR BEARS!!!!!!!!!
I had to turn off the tv after the second Packer touchdown as I was
getting physically ill.
Even with all the bad sport's seasons we've endured in this town
that was a first.
Bill Cowher would be a nice change for no other reason that I'd
like a coach who demonstrates he feels my pain but I can't call
for a person to be fired no matter how much money he walks away
with.
It appears the only question now is "How low can we go?"
Seedy - Great Post! Culzie you are cool as a fan, but you are just wrong about Rex.
Bears have their faults, but we should not be up in arms - just yet. However there should be a lot of chatter about it. Its time to turn the heat up on Lovie, but not the axe. Lovie is better than almost every coach we ever had. ONLY one other coach (in the modern era) has led us to the SB. I am not buying into the argument about his demeaner, just his very questionable decision making before the half. Ditka is revered, however he ran off the best Defensive Coach in the game at the time. And his lil act got old quick. Lovie has shown some heart on offense under Orton - who has executed on 4th downs. He also pulled off a trick play with special teams this year and kept possession of the ball. He has been in it intellectually until yesterday IMHO.
Seedy I agree with you - NEXT WEEK.
By Roman Modrowskion November 16, 2008 4:28 PM
And Lovie's playcalling, especially before the half, reflects very poorly on his preparedness. In fact, the whole team looked ill-prepared for this game, and it was a fairly big game.
********
Well Rex Grossman feeling pretty good right about now! At least no one can point fingers at him saying he screwed up the game.
I stated last week, much as it pained me, Grossman was not the problem.
There is inept coaching all-around and yesterday, the two players who came to play was Mike Brown and Matt Forte!! This is not taking anything from Kyle Orton! I want him as the QB, but the Chicago Bears coaching staff did not call a game for him to be able to win the game and once getting down by so many points pull the guy so he doesn't get really injured in a losing effort.
Devin Hester, maybe we expected too much from you, but man do it seems like he does not want to gear it up a notch! You can't possibly go from that freaking good to returning the ball like you never seen a silver of daylight and just bust one for sixty yards. I don't even expect for him to take it to the house, but damn, he ain't even getting to the thirty and forty yard line anymore.
Has he become a prima donna? I am being too critical!
But Lovie Smith is full of it! I actually believe the team quit yesterday especially the defense when he gave the Packers the ball back with a few seconds before half-time! How do you not get up for the Packers?
Lovie is not coaching! Lovie has always stated simply managed the game as not to lose it. Okay Lovie, you are not managing the game to WIN it! How do a coach not make adjustments when watching his team being run over by the other team?
Somebody please tell me again why the Bears gave Peanut Tillman all that money? Nathan Vasher gets pushed around by the opposing teams receivers. Is this the best we got and if so don't you know how to give help to your weak areas on the team? I MEAN IS THE WHOLE FREAKING TEAM WEAK IN ALL AREAS OF THE GAME??...
Frustrated Bears Fan who walked away when Lovie mis-coached the team right before half-time. Hell, I went and cleaned up and you know your lady friend knows it is a @##$%$%&*( game when you start cleaning up without having to be asked!!...*sigh*
By darryl m on November 16, 2008 10:30 PM
not saying this will happen, but...
...if this season turns around, what will you say about Lovie then?
*****
Mr. Darryl M, I will still think he sucks as a coach! It is not like I am not giving the guy a chance and rooting on his side. But Lovie is not adjusting his game plan when things are not working.
Let's be honest, we all think Lovie is a nice guy. Some on here respect Lovie because he doesn't scream and shout at his players. There are others who respect Lovie because the Bears went to the Super Bowl recently in his coaching tenure - regardless of how inept the team looked - but you know when the season ends Darryl M, fans are going to have the mixed emotions which are the same for Rex Grossman! And they are not going to be nice ones.
Lovie Smith is killing his own career, not the players nor the sports columnists and fans! There is such a thing as Plan B, C, D, E.
And even F, G, H, I - if it is needed?
Okay, so we are tied for first place! After the last two losses and other losses earlier in the season do anyone really think this team is playoff bound and if reaching how far do you expect them to go?
Don't make comments too often. Hate repeating.Last year about this time I said:"the fish stinks from the head down"
Jerry A. "Lovie's our coach"
Lovie: Bob Babich is our Defensive Genius, or Rex is our quarterback.
BTW I jumped off the ban Rex Grossman wagon, when I realized it isn't his fault he isn't an NFL caliber QB. He's out there like you & me trying to make a bunch of money. And if he can do it because these bozos think he's capable, who's the fool?
Bob Babich: We're going to make the right adjustments. (Did I get it right Lovie)?
Ron Turner, we didn't think Kyle could do some of the things he normally does because of his ankle. But we kept him in just to make sure. (Did I get it right Lovie?)
Ted Phillips: Jerry A. you da man?
Does affirmative action stop now that we've proven it works?
But how can it be Lovie’s fault? Look at his overall record as Bears coach! His playoff record as Bears coach also goes down as one of the best in Bears history. It can’t possibly be his fault, he’s “only” the head coach. He’s not the guy on the field not making any plays. Aren’t the players responsible for motivating themselves? The players don’t need pregame and halftime speeches because they’ve heard it all, trust me. It can’t be the offense or defensive schemes because it’s worked for Lovie in the past and don’t forget, the Bears don’t really use the Cover 2 defense as much as people like to think. They really only use it like 20-25% in an entire game, you knuckleheads. The coach can only do so much, it’s the players who have to execute. Sometimes you just have to give credit to the other team, tip your cap to them and get ready for next week because that’s all you can do. Lovie gameplanned the best that he could, but the Packers outhustled them today, simple as that. I know we lost last week to an unbeaten Titans team, but they proved why they’re a great team because great teams figure out a way to win. The week before we beat a winless, but determined Lions football team. Sometimes teams with bad records are difficult to play against because they have nothing to lose. Remember, we’re still tied for first place in the standings. There’s still hope for the playoffs and everyone knows that once you make the playoffs, it’s a whole new different season. Overall, I don’t understand why fans whine about the head coach all the time. It’s not like Bill Cowher would have made a difference. It’s just 1 game guys. Oh wait, make that 2 games in a row only, but point is, just soak it in and move on. Losses build character and next week, this team will show their true colors against a good Rams team who are a lot better than their record indicates.
Hehehe…
As a regular blogger here, I’m enjoying the Lovie rants. Keep at ‘em folks! Most of the fans’ rants and points are nothing that I haven’t already mentioned all season long every week!
MAN, alot of great comments that ive also been saying all along. im gonna say this, for all the people out there who say urlacher is no good anymore. how do we really know if he's the same person when they are ALWAYS sending him into coverage? no one out there would get the tackles and sacks that he's used to if they are always backing up covering. im about done with vasher, if he isnt hurt he's in there playing like crap! i dont get why bob and lovie decided to try and help out on the pass defense, whatever they worked on in practice didnt help. it actually made it worse because they didnt stop anything!!! it also seems like every team besides the bears get up on the recievers and bump them for the 5 yrds, and the bears corners NEVER,NEVER do that! im also about tired of seeing hester call for fair catches when the defenders arent close, what, he got paid and now he's a wuss? he's not really showing anything on offense, so why play him there and take away from his return game? the wideouts cant get away from anyone, all i have to say about them. tight ends are doing a really good job, but not enough passes thrown there way. forte, awesome job!!! i for one was glad when the bears pick him over mendenhal!!! orton has been doing good this year, but they never should have played him hurt! my take on the coaching staff is get rid of all of them EXCEPT toub. jerry i REALLY hope you get your walking papers. McCaskeys, SPEND some FRIGGIN money on free agency.........MORONS!!! man, i couldnt wait to get on here and vent some of this frustration!!!
I am sick and tired of the non stop, negative criticism of the organizations. We as fans should be upset, but my God what did we expect this year. A rookie running back, a quarterback competition, a offensive line in flux, and that is just the offense. They made Harris play on a knee that needed surgery. It is apparent they are stupid. Brown is coming off ACL, Urlacher a neck and back, and we have benched the only one capable of playing FS, Fricking daniel manning, because he blew one play two years ago. It is the coaching that has wasted the talent. Angelo has selected how wide receivers that start for other teams. Four at my count, and our coaching staff did not put them on the field when they were here.
IT is what it is ladies and gentlemen. Trade Brian, trade briggs, trade Devin Hester, trade vasher, and get draft picks in return. This process should have started at the end of last year. They only defensive veteran worth keeping is Mike Brown because he has heart and character to help teach the young talent this team needs. Draft a real defensive end, not the crap we have with inconsistent play (Anderson doesn't see the field, coaching again, and neither of the other two can get to the QB). Then we can a Cover 2 or whatever.
Draft Online and actually build a team that can win in today's NFL. WE got lucky in 85 because of 4 HOF players and new/ good scheme. You have to score in today's game. This franchise doesn't get that and until they do we will have fluke years like 06 where we were the best of the crap teams with a bunch of flaws. We had almost no offense and it showed.
Please start from scratch and do it right. That includes the coach, DC, but not Angelo. Get Cowher and do it right.
Also if harris' knee is that bad, freaking retire.

Does affirmative action stop now that we've proven it works?
Does the fact that you're racist enough to make a comment like that sufficiently prove Affirmative Action is still necessary? No? How about the fact that you're ignorant enough not to know white women have been the primary beneficiaries of Affirmative Action programs?
On the upside--at least you're honest about why you're calling for Lovie's job. (I'm calling you out, culzie, BBB, Julie, et al.)
Is it really that out-of-the-question that racism lies at the heart of this? I'm willing to admit it's merely a theory, but considering you clamor for a coach that inherited a 7-9 team, went to a Super Bowl in his 5th year, but needed 15 years to win a Super Bowl (during which time he had a three-year playoff drought), whereas Smith inherited a team with the same record and took them to a Super Bowl a season quicker...I have to wonder.
This is one of the many things I worried about when Obama won the election--white people would step back and say "LOOK!!! SEE?!?!? RACISM DOESN'T EXIST ANYMORE!!!" It's easy to say "I'm not racist; I've never called a black man 'the n-word'," then blast Lovie Smith for the unpardonable sin of not being able to win a Super Bowl with no offense. But do "you people" really think you're holding Smith to the same standard you held, say, Dave Wannstedt or Dick Jauron? It seems Lovie can do no right. He starts Rex, he gets roasted. He benches Rex, he gets roasted. He starts Thomas Jones, he gets roasted. He starts Cedric Benson or Adrian Peterson, he gets roasted. He runs more, he gets roasted. He passes more, he gets roasted. He makes adjustments, he's spineless; when he doesn't, he's a fool.
Of course (if Roman lets this post see the light of day), I fully expect to face accusations of merely supporting Lovie Smith because he and I are both Black--when facing this kind of subtle, unconsciously-programmed racism, such things are inevitable. I doubt I'll ever get through to anyone benighted enough to ask that kind of question, but I'll go ahead and answer it. Sure, I support Smith because he's a Black coach. I'll support any coach who puts up numbers and still has to deal with people calling for his job--in this case, the underlying attitude toward the coach is driven, consciously or otherwise, by the color of his skin. I have to deal with that kind of ignorance every day of my life--that he deals with it with dignity and honor is something I respect and admire.
What a Nightmare for me I work and live in Calfornia now, But I'm a Bear fan and is hard to say that now. I work with some people who just move out here three years ago from Green Bay and they are rubbing it in hard. I don't like sounding like coach Lovie, but I have to tell them (the Green Bay fan) that we can now look at the big picture and the trust is that we do play Green Bay again and right now both teams are at 5-5 and if we can win the game in Chicago a week before the end of the season, That game could be the game to see who goes to the playoff and the looser stay home Like the White Sox did, But in order for that to happen the Bear need to win some of the next three games and I do't no if the Bear can win I can't say that we are going to win against St Louis, or any teams that we play next because of the "D" just SUCK TO BAD
wow...in just 1 week, more than a few posters have thrown in the towel after suggesting the Bears would go deep in the playoffs after the loss to the Titans.
Bad coaches, O line, D line, receivers...hard to complain when the product isn't there.
Darryl M, seriously man, are you related to Lovie? I could care less if this team went on to the playoffs. Lovie still has to go. I mean, first it was "Rex is our QB," then "My B.F.F Bobby is our new D. Coordinator. Trust me." and we've seen a top 10 defense sink to the bottom. Last year, Benson started off the Seahawks game with 60 yards on 2 carries. What did Lovie do??? HE PULLED HIM OUT OF THE GAME! That's right. Supposedly the plan was to give A.P. some playing time so ole Lovie decided to go with that plan, raher than the "win the game" plan. And please, let's not even mention Atlanta. It's too painful.
And "guy" aka sorry you're parents were too lazy to find you a real name, do you have the cognitive abilities of a goldfish? Rivera just took over at D coordnator, like, a couple of weeks ago. As for losing the game, the D got pressure on the QB, made sacks, 4th and goal stops, and didn't allow a single TD! Rivera had nothing to do with the offense or their poor performance. I saw the game, did you?
Like I say to my son at the start of Lovie being the new coach back in two years ago that all he need to do is win the DIVISION games and take the DIVISION because all the teams in the DIVISION are going through a change some of the teams in the DIVISION have new CoachES, PlayER, QBS,DLB,WBS,RW,and all we need from Lovie is to win the DIVISION that'S all we need from him, But he not doing the right things that the team need to have a good anything right now, And now I would think that Lovie know that if he can't win the DIVISION he can't be the "COACH ANYMORE"
Yo Darryl M!
I'm not a racist, but I sincerely believe that Lovie would be a sorry excuse for a head coach if he was white, Asian, or pink and purple polka dot.
He just flat out sucks.
Darryl,
I have liked reading your posts in the past, but
I think what you said regarding racism and Lovie is uncalled for, but you certainly have the right to state it. I applaud your courage for doing so.
Nevertheless, it certainly isn't fair to me and I think it isn't toward so many that you either "called out" or indirectly referenced. As a white man, I actually like the fact that Lovie is African-American not that I feel that he should have a job just because he is. As a White Sox fan, I am also a Kenny Williams fan, but he will get criticized by me from time to time. As a teacher, I teach all races (black, white, Hispanic, a huge Native American contingent, etc.) and treat every one of them equally and fairly along with high expectations. Occasionally, I run into an accusation of racism, but in the end we discover that the parent(s) have unrelated issues that caused their unfair accusations and they all but retract from their stance.
I frankly have come to believe that the "race card" is often pulled with recognition of the fact that the white accused always has a lot of work to do in order to prove otherwise. Hence, it's almost like a "cop out" crutch. I resent the "race card" when it isn't used fairly. I can prove myself over the course of a school year with my accusers, but certainly don't have the chance to do so in this forum. How do the rest of those you accused have a chance? When you bring up some "red flag" issues because of how it seems like Lovie can do no right, you have a point, but that isn't necessarily racism. Fans have put coaches of all colors in positions in which they're pegged or can do no right. It isn't necessarily a race issue.
Please, I've said it before, can we put to rest this racism stuff already. Yes, it exists (and that's sad). I'd be a moron if I said it didn't, but I don't think it's nearly as bad as you're trying to make it regarding Lovie. Heck, what about the fact that most of the NBA and NFL are African American? It doesn't stop white folk from getting immersed in these sports. Do white people in this town care that Michael Jordan is the greatest Chicago athlete of all time? I doubt that a significant number do care about that fact. He's a legend in this town--plain and simple.
Let's get on discussing Lovie as a coach no matter what his color of skin may be.
Josh... You cannot trade Urlacher, Briggs, Hester and Vasher.
The hit that they would take on the salary cap for players that would be playing for another team would kill them.
Darryl....if the reason that so many people are calling for Lovie’s head is because he is black, then why do you see some of the very same people calling for Mike Singletary to be his replacement?
The truth is that Lovie is treated just like any other coach that sucks.
MLK would be proud that he was not being judged by the color of his skin but by his sorry job as an NFL coach.
You mentioned that you support Lovie because he is black. That would be like me saying that I supported Dick Jauron because he was white which is dumb so your opinion is based on stupidity and therefore loses all credibility.
The bears are bad enough right now without someone trying to make this a racial issue so get real.

Don't you think it is a little absurd to call someone a racist simply because they don't support racial preferences? Don't you think it is even more absurd to believe that you can read what is in someone else's mind - and decide it must be racism - just because they don't approve of the job Lovie is doing?
I bet 95% of the fans here would cheer their lungs out if Mike Singletary was hired tomorrow. I know I would.
Roman: LOOK at the HOME PAGE. You have BULLS & HAWKS next matchup but no game date. Please include the game date. It helps the fans. Believe me on this.
As for Mr Smith goes to Chicago, I'll make it simple: the Bears biggest strengths in the Smith era HAD BEEN special teams & defense. They are now the team's biggest weaknesses. He has turned Hester from being a spectacular return man to below avg. That's not only hard to do but it was unthinkable before this season.
I like the man but I've starting to loathe the coach. Anything short of 4 more wins & he's got to go. Odds are weak of that happening.
I actually started thinking Kyle was looking decent, almost good for an NFL qb, then a funny thing happened. Defenses started adjusting to him. He needs some long drives to sustain momentum, keep his defense off the field, and motivate his offense. The playcalling is suspect, but so are the players. To call for Lovie's head after this horrible loss is only wrong Roman. Lovie still is a better coach than any we've had in Chicago in the last 15 years. Bears fans better wake up and realize. You let go Rivera, and blamed Rex for the SB loss. The true loss is these fans crying about how terrible the offense and defense are now.
I wonder why????? You fans are crying about how terrible the cover 2 is, but don't other teams run it like Indy. Kyle Orton has Kirk Hinrich syndrome. Just not talented enough, I'll wait so you can see how he is totally broken down by other teams and exposed now. Hey, put Rex in there now, and save the season. Put in Williams, move St' Clair to guard. Keep A Brown, put D Manning at safety. I mean, these changes started with the SB loss. The damn coaches started listening to popular opinion, instead of coaching based on their instincts. Corey Graham does not deserve the tick he gets, neither does Payne, Anderson, Dvor. Hester, Orton. Hell, too many changes. Bring it back to what it was, it took you to the SB, now bring it back. OUT.
urlacher was saying last week who's [ laughing now] well it sure as hell isn't me ,did he even play sundy never saw him. pissed and moaned before the season for more money now whats the future hold for him, hester ,harris cut your losses ted phillps stick a fork in them there done and for at least a couple years to come
The player have lost faith in the coaches and the orgainization. Why you say? Corporate culture is the answer. The coach fires the very effective defensive coordinator after two very good seasons for the defense for no discernable reason and replaces him with his best friend. The only apparent qualification this best friend has is that he is the head coaches best friend. If the organization won't employ the best coach for the job, why should a player think that the best player will be allowed to play. Something else is at work here. The head coach has allowed the offensive line to degenerate into a quivering mass of ineffective oldies and the most highly paid unit on the team to underachieve to the point of humiliation but he has his job and will continue to have it because the organization wouldn't fire him and have to eat his contract.
The General manager is one, maybe two, for six on first round picks. Three have been outright busts and his latest effort was to draft a lineman with a bad back! Last year's number two and three picks are out of football and he's outfitted this ball club with possibly the worst wide receiver unit in the entire NFL. He still has a job that pays really well and will continue to have his job because the organization won't fire him and have to eat his contract.
The president of the club refuses to get involved in football operations. He has earned lifetime employment by putting together the stadium deal that greatly enhanced the value of the franchise for the owners. He is president of this For-Profit corporation where winning is desireable as long as it doesn't interfer with profits.
Do you see a pattern? The players do. Medicority, ineffectiveness, mean nothing about determining who plays or works for the organization. Why should they bust a gut, or care about winning? It really doesn't matter in this culture. Only profits matter and why shouldn't they get theirs?
Tommy is right.
Moose is too.
Mike, you've been funnier.
BBB, where you been?
Julie B, you've been funnier.
Darryl M, How did you even interpret docs post?
Nobody told me Seedy and Phil were back together?
Roman is right, but he de-faced booked me again, thats wrong, I think Obama's press secretary still even has me on there.
Hitman, you need to get a wireless card.
Culzie is money, if anyone needs to buy or sell a house, let me know, I have his personal email.
Anyone who said Orton shoulda stayed out another game is right, but thats all coaching.
It's time to start thinking Singletary.
PV1
Come on Darryl M!!! You have to be kidding right? Race has not one damn thing to do with this. Last time I checked Babich is white and everyone here is calling for his head too. Also how soon you forget the days of people calling for Wannstedt’s head. I remember my first game at the old soldier field. I was with my dad who was a long time bear fan and I will never forget looking into the stands and seeing a huge banner that said "Impeach Wannstedt". It was right around the time the Clinton impeachment stuff was going on. I think it might have been 96 or 97. Trust me during that time people were way nastier about state of the team than they are now. I will never forget watching Wannstedt's face. He always looked confused and he had a look like "What just happened". He was probably confused because he couldn't believe Salam just fumbled again. Anyways!!! I think the reason everyone is upset is that we stunk last year and after a decent start, now it looks like we are regressing again this year. I hope the defense can turn it around. I really think Lovie needs to step up and evaluate what type of players we have and build the scheme around it, instead of building the players around the scheme. Also, I am getting real tired of teams tearing us up with the dang slant pass. Hopefully we can get this thing turned around.
Go Bears!!!
Darryl. M
Thanks for exposing yourself as a racist and someone who clearly hates anyone who isn't Black. It's so obvious when you make the assumption that everyone who criticizes Lovie here must be white and a racist and that everyone who supports him must be African-American and therefore incapable of racism. It's amazing that in 2008 when a African-American has just been elected President that there are still bitter, angry, racist morons out there like you. According to your racist logic when someone like Rod Marinelli gets criticized and fired it will be because he is a bad coach but when someone like Marvin Lewis gets criticized and maybe fired it will be because of racism.
Of course I'll bet that in your mind it's impossible for an African-American to be a bad coach, bad manager, bad player or bad any kind of employee and that if they ever get criticized or fired it's because of racism.
People like you make me sick.
As a result of your playing the race card people will be afraid to post anything for fear of being labeled a racist.
Thanks Darryl M. for killing this blog. Sorry Roman that people will no longer give their opinions here. It's sad since those of us who love sports really appreciated a place to give their opinions, vent, cry and mostly laugh as we discussed sports.
Darryl M. you'd better go after the Sun Times, the Tribune, WGN, the NFL Network, ESPN, S.I., the Major Networks, the Sporting News and a whole lot of Football analysts because they have all have criticized Lovie's coaching this year as well.
They must all be racists if they ever criticized Lovie right?
Oh and don't forget to jump on here right away and tell everyone I'm an example of a racist white guy who is spreading "subtle, unconsciously-programmed racism" when I want Lovie fired.
Please do us all a favor and find another site to spew your racist garbage.
I'm a bear fan in Missouri. I had the game on fox west. They pulled the game it was such a blowout. What an embarrassment. Mikey Mc and family are the whold problem with the bears. Sell them to Cuban. Bring in singletary, he has heart and bring back Rivera.
Well never thought I'd see Keith quoting Kenny Rogers, way to go Keith.....Culzie and Keith not in agreement? no surprize there lol...Julie why be surprised that pre-game comments by Lovie are all cliche's when he is nothing but cliche's after the a game? Edgar you're right Lovie isn't on the field playing the game BUT have the players quit on him much like the Bulls players quit on Skiles? Blame doesn't start and stop at Lovie, it starts in the McCaskey skybox and trickles down onto the field.
Hey Darryl.....
K.M.A. you ahole.
Don't EVER call me a racist.
Ed in Richmond...
you have been posting here for years....and you are just now startled by DarrylMs myopic world view?
now thats funny....
I am not defending Darryl M, nor am I affraid to walk the racial tightrope when I blog...but seriously...of all Darryl posts in the past, this is the least offensive.
I think he is right....I think he is on to something.
There is a syndrome in the US, where we exault people to almost god like status, and then we tear them down to size.
You think that the act is silly, but it has an effect....
the effect is...when you exhault someone to a god like status and then tear them back down to a faulable human...you are also at the same time lofting yourself up on the pedestal as well.
Now that you have seen the gods do error, you think, well...i am flawed too....i must be like them....and now...you are that much closer to the gods.
This is just my observation...of course, but it seems that as a society, we do this more often with Black Males...than anyone else.
We did it with M.J., we did it with Sammy, we did it with Michael Jackson...we did it with MLK, we did it with....Mohamad Ali....
so....will we do it again?
Can anyone think of any black males who are reaching near god like status these days??
Well...mark my words....the tear down always follows the build up.
It is our nature!
I just want to clarify what I'm saying about the home page. Want fans I talk to want to see is this:
Chicago Bulls vs L.A. Lakers 11/18/08
Chicago Hawk vs Pheonix Coyotes 11/18/08
When you leave the date off & put a game time on the matchup fans think the game is that night. The date would end that confusion.
Likewise, don't wait until Thurs to put the Bears matchup up there. Do it Monday so fans can start looking ahead. And again don't forget the date of the game.
Killer Kane summed it up very well.
It is not just Lovie, not just Angelo... it is the whole culture that they have created here.
Sell the team and start again with someone who did more then just survive child birth to become the owner.
Let's not forget...Lovie's Ram defenses years back were pretty bad. Now that he's head coach he's proven:
- he can't pick good coordinators
- he can't make adjustments during a game
- he doesn't know how to manage the clock
Couple that with some horrificly bad drafts by Angelo and the result is not good.
On race relations I stand like many conservatives: I hate folks to think that we have made our achievements ONLY because of Affirmative Action. I understand why Clarence Thomas has such disdain for his Yale Law degree. Affirmative action opens doors that are locked. No amount of protest or hard work breaks down those barriers. You need LAW to force equality. And even with that, it only offers a CHANCE. Affirmative Action has been good for America, and definitely needs to stay until this nation is no longer weeping and celebrating every minority FIRST. BTW - that is exactly why black people support other blacks; because its so rare to see them in leadership roles - even though they've proven themselves. Everytime a black person achieves - we as blacks are proud because it means another door is open. Affirmative action made others who had no experience with blacks have an up close look for themselves to see - that blacks are not what the news says. There is a person that was hired at YOUR job, or that was allowed to move into YOUR neighborhood that is so cool with you - that you have changed your heart against judging ALL as a group - but individually - by the content of their character. And this is the hope of Affirmative Action, which made it possible for Barack Obama. We have come so far.
Lovie's record is his only saving grace in my eyes. Its a winning one. Thats why I said cut him some slack. As a brother I wish him well because he has achieved against the odds. But as a BEARS fan I stare at him with the scrutiny of a miserly tax attorney with thick glasses! And he had better win or THERE WILL BE BLOOD! LOL!
What I love about being Black is that my very suggestion that people hold people of color to higher standards than whites automatically becomes "playing the race card."
Before I start with the negative, I'd like to point out Killer Kane's post (certainly critical of Smith) makes some very valid (if somewhat vague) points. While I don't think Lovie Smith is just sitting back and collecting a paycheck, I can see the train of logic leading Kane to that conclusion and will acknowledge that he(she?) could be right. Kane's also fair enough to examine the other people's faults with the same attention to detail.
To Gig: "Heck, what about the fact that most of the NBA and NFL are African American? It doesn't stop white folk from getting immersed in these sports"
Not to imply anything about you, Gig, but I hope you realize that excuse was employed a great deal when people asked why there were no Black head coaches in the NFL. For that matter, you miss the point: sure, lots of white people don't or can't play professional sports, but there haven't ever been rules explicitly forbidding white people from playing professional sports because of the color of their skin (and, please, don't mention the Negro Leagues, okay?). Please don't interpret this as another "40 acres and a mule" argument; the bottom line is that you obviously think racism arguments need to be "put to rest," when I suggest that putting them to rest only further institutionalizes the attitudes that need to be changed. To put it another way: the "race card" would never be played if it didn't still actually exist. I'm willing to accept criticism of, for example, Marvin Lewis--he's had one winning season since taking over the Bengals, and he's no closer to coaching in this year's Super Bowl than Steve Spurrier. I've defended Lewis in the past, but it's fairly obvious his system isn't working, and the Bengals faithful (if there is such a thing-I kid, I kid) have every right to say he ought to be fired.
I just don't see that with Smith. I had low, low expectations coming into his tenure, but he took the Bears to the playoffs two years in a row. I have yet to see much this year suggesting the Bears don't need a new head coach as much as they need new linebackers or wide receivers (but even they've stepped up more than expected). If the season goes further into the toilet, then maybe a new regime is in order, but what if it doesn't? What if it turns around?
To Tom: again, Affirmative Action programs have by far benefited white middle-class women more than any group. I will take your bait, however, and point out that why are racial preferences abominable when white people feel affected by them, but a myth when I theorize they may exist?
To Ed: I rather explicitly referred to my idea of Lovie's criticisms being racially-motivated as "a theory." You're certainly free to re-read my post--although "read my post" would probably be a more accurate term, because I'm trying to figure out when I expressed any hatred for someone because they aren't white. (I must really hate my mother, then! :-P ) I also included some cursory, but somewhat fact-laden analysis of Lovie Smith's record as a coach and that of Bill Cowher; nowhere did I mention Marinelli or Lewis. For that matter, I wonder why you have--both of the latter coaches are more-or-less out of the playoff hunt this year, and neither of them have track records even comparable to Smith or Cowher.
When last I checked, I only called doc a racist. I merely called everyone else out for being dishonest about their reasons for wanting Lovie Smith fired.
All of the responses to my post beg the question: is racism really dead, when the very suggestion of its existence provokes such an outcry? If the only rebuttals of my theory are to call me a racist and say "B-B-BUT, no! We're not racist--see? We want ANOTHER BLACK GUY to replace him," and "B-B-BUT LOVIE SUCKS!! SEE? HE HAS NO 'FIRE,'" and "ZOMG U RACIST!! YOU HATE WHITE PEOPLE BECAUSE YOU DARE SUGGEST THEY MIGHT BE REACTING TO CULTURAL CONDITIONING,"and "B-B-BUT WE ELECTED A BLACK PRESIDENT, ALTHOUGH IT'S RACIST TO CALL HIM 'BLACK' BECAUSE HIS MOTHER'S WHITE..." I'll go back to my original point: is it really out of the question to suggest race has something to do with how Lovie Smith is perceived and treated, even if it's unconsciously?
No offense, folks, but few of you are doing much to suggest it is.
(Oh, and regarding the whole Obama issue--look, the first Black President doesn't prove racism has left the American mindset. The forty-second Black President might.)
Great post, Keith.
Darryl sez: "When last I checked, I only called doc a racist. I merely called everyone else out for being dishonest about their reasons for wanting Lovie Smith fired."
I wanted Wanny out of here after season number four.
I wanted Juron out of here after season number four.
I wanted rid of Smith after season number four, and for the same exact reasons.
At least I'm consistant.
Darryl, don't worry, racism isn't going anywhere. No one believes it is gone. People like you will always keep racism alive in America. Always questioning other peoples "true motives" knowing there is no way they can prove to you (or to anyone) what is in their heart. Always expecting the worst out of people. Always focusing on the negative. Only looking at the evidence that supports what you want to believe and ignoring all evidence to the contrary. If it wasn't for people like you constantly reminding me, I might forget what color Lovie is.

on this dunderhead here who just had to start something!
Doc on November 17, 2008 1:59 PM
Does affirmative action stop now that we've proven it works?
Does the fact that you're racist enough to make a comment like that sufficiently prove Affirmative Action is still necessary? No? How about the fact that you're ignorant enough not to know white women have been the primary beneficiaries of Affirmative Action programs?
*********
Damn, I hoped no one took the bait on this lunacy!
Brotha Daryl, I started to respond to the same idiocy, but it was not worth it man. You, I and others already know their is bigotry, hatred and people afraid of their small minds expanding outside of their normal caveman routines. Think Gieco commercials and laugh at this inanity.
But I do comprehend your need to blunt this type of ignorance with your words.
Peace man.
You know, I think Darryl M has a point. Racism is still very much alive and well in this country. Perhaps having Lovie Smith as head coach, despite his faults, is a good thing for minorities.
Right. That's why ole Lovie canned Ron "Chico" Rivera.
"Lost faith in Lovie"
Sounds like a country song!
I dun lost ma faith in Lovie..
Where did it all go wrong?
Listen to his weekly excuse conference..
Moanin the same old song
His players take easy..
Get knocked on their big fat rump
Coach Lovie Smith will hold their hand..
Talks jus like Forrest Gump
Ol Jerry will not fire him..
Even if that's what it takes
Cus Jerry never says "I'm wrong"..
He never makes mistakes
The fans keep payin money..
To see players with no balls
Guess that means, yes Virginia..
There is a Santa Clause
Very well put, Anne.
Lovie is making the kind of mistakes and having the ups and downs you expect from a first time rookie head coach. Shouldn't be any suprise to anyone.
I
haven't seen anything from him that suggests he is any closer to correcting anything or improving as a head coach than he was when he started. If the Bears and their fans are happy serving as a developmental stop for rookie coaches, gms and team presidents then fine, other teams may benefit from the bears efforts when the bears trainees move on and hopefully advance their careers elswhere.
For those of us bear fans who would like our team to win now, well we are just out of luck. And anyone who thinks it is somehow wrong or heartless to want to change coaches, think back to how the whole Wade Wilson episode was handled. He was axed, trashed and scapegoated and no one seemed to mind, because rex was our quarterback and lovie wanted us to trust him and kip or chip or whoever he hired as qb coach. Haven't heard much from him lately, guess his work with Rex isn't going to do much for his resume, he couldn't have been a first time rookie qb coach could he? Well?
Anne
Darryl, don't worry, racism isn't going anywhere. No one believes it is gone. People like you will always keep racism alive in America.
And people who called Barack Obama a "secret muslim" didn't?
Do you people read what you say before you post?
Lovie Smith is played out. Its time for the bears to start making moves. this system is old and tired and no one is impressed anymore. Lovie had his chance to actually have some tenure here when he went to the superbowl. Rex Grossman is his downfall. he will always have that what if over his head. What if i had sat Rex down. Even though we will never know if a different quarterback would have brought a different result in the superbowl but we ca all pretty much assume any thing would've been better than the crap that was on the field that night.
The people who called Barack Obama a "secret muslim" fall under the description I gave just the same as you do. All of you look at skin color so much in your everyday life you think everyone must. But they don't. Most of us just judge each person individually by their own words and actions. The people you refer to made wild allegations against Barack with no evidence just like you made wild allegations against Julie, Culzie and BBB with no evidence. How are you different from them?
Anne - well put
Anne's right, Darryl. You judging me without knowing me makes you the same type of person you're persecuting. And I'd like to ask you, what exactly did I say in my post that you misconstrued as racist?
In my opinion, this blog is going nowhere. It has found a stalemate, ruined by a discussion much better suited for a college sociology "think tank" or at least a classroom. Myself? I normally enjoy such discussions in part because I seek the truth in matters. Nevertheless, while classrooms and such provide opportunities for people to hone their critical thinking skills, nobody will be swayed by anyone else's opinions on this issue--certainly not in a sports blog forum. We all know ourselves better than anyone else does--or at least we should. We know our hearts and our minds unlike all others. Personally, I also believe God knows my heart even better than I know mine. {By the way, it's additionally discomforting to feel like someone else is playing God with me and searching my heart for my true motives and intentions, but I digress from may main point}
This could be an interesting topic in another venue, but not here. This is supposed to be a form of entertainment, escape, relaxation, and so forth. Now, racism has to be under suspicion if there is to be any form of criticism of a racial minority.
Darryl, you've made some interesting comments, but I don't think this is the place for them. I also think that you've touched on the very core of what's wrong in race relations in America. Actually, it isn't the extremists like the KKK or the neo-Nazis. We all know where they could go! The real problem seems to be centered in the mainstream views from the majority of whites who would love to bury racism noting that the color of one's skin matters not! I think most whites now think that way. However, a great many of those whites who would love to live in a color-blind world may indeed harbor resentments against the attitudes you keep bringing up.
I understand that black people who speak out against the black population--like Bill Cosby--aren't popular with the majority of African Americans because he doesn't ALSO point out the institutionalized "Berlin Wall" nature of poverty, especially against minorities. I think I get that and I also think many whites do in 2008. However, that kind of issue need not be bandied about as though it's any of our fault and certainly not in the case of a success story like Lovie Smith! Lovie and any other successful African American should have little or no fear in today's society as far as being put into a racial box of some sort. He gets pretty much the same treatment by the majority of whites as anyone white person in a similar situation. You, and all those who understand you and support you, do appear to be bitter holding on to things that just aren't as true as they used to be and would hardly be true at all if you'd just stop harboring these points of views and applying them to everything you encounter. The final elimination of that type of thinking is what the majority of white people are hoping and waiting for. But, like so many things regarding the depravity of mankind, I suppose it never will because of our human nature. We all have an inner tendency toward selfishness which includes a feeling of superiority whichever form that takes.
This blog is over for me. I'm done. It's no longer a diversion. I can already sense it happening.
Roman responds: Gig, I love when people dismiss a thread and then weigh in with one of the longer posts.
Will everyone just stop living in the past, especially in Super Bowl 41!!!
For gods sake, the Bears had 2 leads in the game, one thanks to Devin, one thanks to Thomas Jones and Rex, and the Defense crapped it out...then Rex threw the pic and they lost by 12, and everyone blames him...get over it and move on for god's sake!!!
As for Lovie, this upcoming '6 game season' will forever tell how he will be remembered. Im sure he has heard all of this criticism, and now it is put up or shut up time for him.
IF they do good and go to the playoffs and do not get blown out anymore...he will still be here...and if this does not happen, he will have written his ticket out of Chicago....so lets just be patient...
All this bitching and whining on these forums just turns my stomach...its bad enough to sit through a Green Bay trouncing...its even worse to listen to all of you who have these "I know what the quick fix is...fire Lovie, Fire REX, fire Babich, fire the whole team and draft again and wait another 5 years, and trade Devin and Urlacher".....JUST PUT A SOCK IN IT!!!!!!!!!!!
Roman, touche'! Your remark was deserved.
"All this bitching and whining on these forums just turns my stomach..." -Chris Willette
And you know what's even more stomach-turning than fans who "bitch and whine?" How 'bout the self-righteous fan who "takes the high road" and believes himself to apparently be light years wiser than any us could ever hope to be.
And you know what's more stomach-turning than that? How 'bout unfounded accusations of racism and a clear belief in racial supremacy that almost makes me never want to come back here again.
And what's more stomach-turning than that?! How 'bout some clown who writes lame, fake interviews or gives people "funny" nicknames like "Boob Babich" all in a desperate attempt to get a chuckle or LOL! and actually feel clever for once in their life.
That's a lot of stomach-churning. I think I have a tummy ache.
:(
Lovie needs to go. Take Jerry with him.
Darryl M,
You are an ignorant racist and it shows in every post.
Julie. B,
I don't always agree with you but there is no chance in hell you are a racist and if Darryl M. had an ounce of character and integrity he would apologize to you.
Culzie,
Good call. I must be slipping or getting senile when I am surprised by Darryl M's myopic view of the world.
Philtration,
Awesome song!!!! That post was almost as good as Mike's "Lovie and Babich Interview".
Mike,
Best post on this subject. You've got me thinking. Apparently it's only people who criticize or fire African-Americans that are racist. It must not apply when other minorities are involved.
Where was Darryl M. when Lovie criticized and then fired Ron Rivera? I think Lovie only fired him because he was Hispanic!! Doesn't that make Lovie a racist? Where is the outrage over that? Hispanics are the largest minority in the country. Where are all the Hispanic NFL Head Coaches?? Where are all the Hispanic NBA Coaches? It must be that "unconsciously programmed racism" at work again.
Darryl M. please look into this obviously racist situation immediately!!!!!!!!
Let's get back to the real issue here: Why is a terrible coach like Lovie Smith still coaching the Bears?????!!!!!
I want Angelo and Lovie gone...does that make me an equal opportunity basher or a bi-racial racist?
As I think about it, I also would like to see the Bulls start over and get rid of Paxson and bring in a real coach. I'm thinking that makes me just 1/4 racist.
darrly M.....Having the First Black president isnt going to end racism....but I would tender forth...that Calling the First Bi-Racial Presdident the first "Black President" is a bit racist.
It totally denies his caucassion heritage.
Do you think there would be outrage, if we just referred to Obama as a white president, ignoring his black father?
HELL YES THERE WOULD BE.
Just an observation.
B
Also....why did my name even get dragged into Darryl original post?
I never called for Lovie's job? I just said that our Play calling sucked.
I just posted a slick rick video on my facebook...
you alls know i aint racist!
Culzie if you can tell me who folks is on the southside, I will provide you lifetime street credibility. And dont google it! I will be able to tell!
I was blessed a GD...in the North...so I was a people. I wasnt a folk. I am not down for the Vice Lords, I throw the pitchfork up and the VL down. I hate the 6 pointers...I am a 5 pointer of light. Hoover is my idol. I bank my cap to the left to signafy that I am Peoples...anyone who banks their cap to the right is my enemy.
What else can I tell you?
I did, but Roman, censored my gangbanging creds.
It's only fair for me to defend him when he does something good. When I saw the direct snap to Hester I nearly pissed in my pants with jubilation. The Bears get it! Louvie gets it! The rest of the NFL has to deal with it!
I now think 4 wins is not only possible but probable provided they continue to use Hester has a returner/slashback/receiver.
Roman: thanks for adding the date to the matchups. I like what you've done. My family buys the paper at face value 3/4 times a wk incl Church Sundays since Jay's left. Keep up the good work.
Truth is, my best friend in Jr.Hi and HiSchool was a kid who's parents moved him out of gang infested Gary/S.Chicago to N.Chicago to eventually N.Subs. He was bigger than me, and he basically imported his gangbanging knowledge and downloaded it to me and we started our own N.Suburban Wankster Chapter...
I know Gangbanging is a serious and sad thing for many people who actually have to live and deal with this on a daily basis.
I have had many many friends over the years of hooping, who had to live in Cabrini or the RT homes and I saw the life they had to live, and I saw the gauntlet of serious OG's they would have to walk through every day just to get to the school bus stop and I heard the abuse they would take by those thugs who had given up and who stopped going to class....
Just knowing who Hoover is, and taking a few ghetto field trips, does not a real mother f;ing G one make.
Culzie um surprised you are still alive! You have few things mixed up, but you at least know who folks are. Peoples are the opposite gang and they are vastly outnumbered.
You killed me with that Wankster!!! Um talking a closed eyes laughing! You are absolutely right. No joking matter. Athletes are allowed to ball and if anyone messes with them - um um um. That's why when you see hoopers with their hats broken off, they are just fronting. Ben Wilson paid with his life playing gang banger. I was never in a gang, I had 5 brothers and that was my gang. Culzie thanks for keeping it real.
Taking elbows from Keon Clark and Tommy Hamilton does though! ;)
lovie lost to the vikings. it makes me sad.
