Hard to say what to expect from the Bulls this season, but it seems fairly obvious what we're going to get from Derrick Rose.
Rose is going to be a very good player as a rookie. The kid is the real deal, and he seems to have the perfect mentality for the challenge he faces.
I don't think he'll lead the Bulls in scoring. But there will be games when he's the top scorer and most dynamic player on the floor.
And there will be games when he takes his lumps.
I'm not sure he'll be a this season, but he will be at times and I believe that's his ultimate destiny.
I think his biggest impact this season will be making his teammates better, especially Kirk Hinrich and Tyrus Thomas.
I'm excited to watch Rose this season. I couldn't say that too many times about the Bulls last season.
ROSE KID TOOK A FLOOR LENGTH BOUNCE PASS A DUNKED QUICKLY AND FORCEFULLY ON A 6'6 FORWARD FROM DUNBAR AS A SOPHOMORE AT SIMEON.
HIS COMBINATION OF PHYSICAL ABILITY AND APTITUDE, COMBINED WITH THE MIX THAT MANAGEMENT IS CREATING WITH IT SHOULD BE FUN FOR US TO WATCH FOR A LONG TIME.WE'VE GOT A LOT OF WINNERS ON THE TEAM NOW AND THE RIGHT KIND OF COACHING STAFF.LET THE GROWTH BEGIN!
You are absolutely right Roman. We are going to enjoy watching Rose for years to come. Bulls have who they needed the most. The engine. NOW thats how you play point guard.
And I personally think Deng and Gordon have been holding back for the real season. If they play up to their abilities - watch out. Going to be a great season full of highlights. I think the Bulls have what it takes to take two steps forward this season.
I hope the vets on this team realize what this kid will become. They need to recognize he makes them better immediately if they let him. I assume Thomas is drooling at the thought of being out there with Rose. The question I have is for guys like Gordon, Gooden and Hughes. If they were smart, they'd jump on the train...
You can let Gordon go right now.
Rose is not only the future of the Bulls but he is the present. The moment he walks onto the floor for their first game he will be their best player.
I am expecting a breakout year for Thomas with the up tempo offense and I hope that Deng remembers how to go to the basket.
Late in the 3rd, Bulls down 73-72, Dung hit's a lucky jumper. Capt Kirk drains a 3 to end the 3rd 82-75.
Gordon starts the 4th w a 3 pushing it to 85-75. Gordon never let the Bucks close after that. Despite missing over a week of practice, Gordon nearly led all Bulls in scoring. He did that playing 10 min fewer than Dung.
It's the same ole Bulls. If Gordon's on fire in the 4th they win, if not they probably lose. Yet Roman's gonna tell me how great Dung is. I'll take Thomas 10 rebs & 15 pts over Dung's measley 4 rebs & 21 pts any day.
Thomas was the real star of the Bulls tonight, but Roman will try to ignore it. It must be a Duke thing.
I do think the Bulls will be good because their logjam at the guard position keeps a lot of fresh bodies on the bench. Kirk & Gordon will have more energy to play better defense this yr. But I don't think Dung will do anything to prove he's worthy of being the highest paid Bull. I won't be a bit surprised if Thomas doesn't outplay him all season.
When he starts proving to me he's worth the cost of squeezing Gordon out of the cap, then I'll call him Deng.
Good job Bulls! Good job. I know Skiles wanted to throw up. Vinnie is definitely smarter. I KNEW the Bulls made the right pick for THIS club. I watched carefully as each guy handled the ball and its clear to see there is noone in Rose's class at handling the rock. Vinnie's line-up is the RIGHT one for the Bulls YOUTH. I still like Gray over Gooden. Gray has the size and skill on the block. He is young, but so what. Portland dispelled all of those youth questions last year. I believe in SIZE. And Gooden is a scrapper, but he had nothing on the block last night. He is just too small. I would even go with Noah in situations when we are playing against younger players. Save Gooden for the veterans.
Of course I loved Thabo and Rose defensively, Rose, Deng and Thomas offensively, and Noah, Noch and Thomas's intensity. Kirk is a good backup, but paid much too high. Gordon is an exceptional 6th man. And Noch is Noch.
The new starting lineup should feature players that are the right size and compliment Rose's abilities. Those are Thabo, Deng, Thomas, Noah and Gray (he is the right size and young). Everyone else must find a role to compliment Rose. They are going to have to get rid of Hughes or Kirk as quickly as possible. One is simply not humble enough to take a backup role (behind Thabo who needs the time on the floor), and the other is not the right size. Both are overpaid. And neither wants to come off that Bench.
And that brings me to the bench which should be exceptionally strong and one of the best in the league if Vinny is SMART and don't give in to those "Vets". They ALL are bench worthy and will be our strength this year if they buy into it. If not - make them part of the A and B trade conversation...."C-YAH". That goes for Gordon, Kirk, Hughes, Gooden, and Noch. And um glad they signed Ruffin the Cro-magnum man. That head is huge! But we will need his rebound and edge this season.
Can't you tell um excited??? All it took me was one game to see it. Bulls can challenge anyone in the East with this team. Our starters are going to struggle at times, but our bench is superior. I like it.
If you can dunk on someone from Dunbar....then...there is no telling what your capable of.
I'M HAPPY FOR DERRICK ROSE, I OFTEN THINK OF RONNIE FIELDS, HE WAS

Gordon showed his worth last night. The lead started to slip but Ben heated up and pushed the lead. His D will never be good but his instant offense makes him the perfect 6th man. He should be making the money Hinrich makes.
I think this team can def. make the playoffs around 40 wins. Great start
Culzie I almost spit coffee on my keyboard!
Dunbar is my alma mater!
