Good for the White Sox. How depressing it would have been to finish the season on a six-game losing streak.
And I firmly believe they'll beat Detroit on Monday and then beat Minnesota on Tuesday.
Why not? Few things have gone according to plan this season, especially recently.
Mark Buehrle pitched well again at home, where he hasn't lost since July 4.
Paul Konerko continues his late-season resurgence.
I picked them in this blog a while back to win the Central and I'm not changing now.
Floyd vs Garcia, Danks vs Lariano. The WSox should be favored in both games. If the bettors think they can do it, that's good enough for me.
The team will be sky high if they beat the Twins to go to Tampa. That should give Javier the edge in game 1 of the ALDS.
Roman I hope you are right for theirsakes. Sox might be looking at the Cubs and trying to get out of the way. If Obama looses, that will be all my heart can take. My boyz let me down this year. I am happy for the way they closed the season. Mark Buehrle saved our honor! Classy guy.
Sox control their own destiny, that is all you can hope for in a playoff race. Should be easy win over detroit, they had their bags already packed after sunday, so they'll just be going through the motions. Game on tuesday might be a little tougher, but still a home game against a mediocre road team so sox should roll over them. Should be in playoffs easily.
Sox back into the playoffs somehow, it wont mean a thing, but it would be nice play anyway. Great time to evaluate.
Roman, does Carol Slezak still think that one game in the entire baseball season is meaningless?
My heart goes out to Cub fans who get to witness Jim Belushi as your master of ceremonies...
OMG - can this city be any lamer???!!! Is that the best we have to offer for a celeb? I'm not even a Cub fan and I'm embarrassed.
OMG!!! How on earth did that pic in Quick Hits pass ethics or code or whatever it is that differentiates the Sun-Times from porn?
Damn was I feeling low until I saw Alexi wave his hands as the baseball left his bat! He was so sure I didn't have to wait for Hawk to say Strecth! Strecth! Strecth!...Homerun!
Now that is some feat to hit four grand-slams in one season. I haven't research it yet, but I have to find out home many players with 500 or more homers have hit grand-slams for a career.
The Baseball Gods are shining on Chicago! Twinkies - come get your A$$ kick tonight! We ain't playing in no stinking dome baby!
Roman, tonight is the gutsy win you were thinking about!
Roman you called it like Babe called his shot!!!!
