Ok, so Flip Saunders got fired today and is available. Stop those Bulls rumors before they start.
If the Bulls aren't going to talk to Avery Johnson, why would they talk to Flip Saunders?
I still say Doug Collins is the guy, but I'm starting to wonder if Jerry Reinsdorf's insistence on a coach not having an agent is delaying things. Is Collins ready to negotiate a multi-year, multi-million-dollar deal?
As far as Saunders, he's a nice guy and probably a good coach. But he hasn't always been able to get his players to buy in, and he's had a lot of talent to coach.
Saunders was given 3 chances to take, not an up 'n coming team, but a solid veteran-filled team with talent and with multiple Championship experience and still failed to at least make the NBA Finals one time. Now there's a prime example of failing to take a team from Point A to Point C. Last year, he couldn't come up with any adjustments in stopping LeBron and in this season, his team lost twice at home in a playoff series. Not good. At this point, Doug Collins is still the better fit and a better sell to Bulls fans than Saunders.
As far as Reinsdorf delaying things with hiring Collins, I wouldn't put it past him at all just as I wouldn't be surprised if he messes up another business deal because of his stubborness and his bargain hunting tactics.
Maybe the Bulls are still waiting to talk to Tom Thibodeau? After all, Paxson owes us his due diligence, right? Sigh.
Bulls apparhently are going to trade the #1 pick to Miami for Dwade and the #2...and throw in Hinrich to boot.

Hey Roman, stranger things have happened in sports. Think about it, the Bulls trade the #1 pick and other options to Miami for D Wade and the #2 pick. The Bulls can draft who they really want Beasley. Trading for Wade would be for PR control since Wade is a local product. I hope all of this is hypothetical and just rumor.

Culzie, I thought you learned your lesson after last year's rummor! You already have a pink hat photo. Miami's community would burn down that stadium and rightfully so. There is no such rummor because Paxson would have personally flown down there with Jerry Reinsdorf to seal the deal and announce within that same hour, and I would have been at Ohare with the rest of the fans to send them off!!!
