Back from Vegas, where my buddy David Diaz put on an unbelievable display of courage in losing a 9th-round TKO to Manny Pacquiao. Looks like the Cubs also got TKO'd.

Go ahead, breathe a sigh of relief Bulls fans.

C'mon, this is a slam dunk, right? The Bulls can't afford not to pick Derrick Rose on Thursday.

I sat in the center-field bleachers Sunday night for Game 3 of the Cubs-Sox at Wrigley, and it was just what you would imagine.

What a bust - on and off the field. Cedric Benson was waived today. Was it the right move? The Bears sure are thin at running back.

Vinny Del Negro has been offered the Bulls head coaching job. Anybody excited about that?

Cedric Benson just can't stay out of trouble. I'm sure Roman will have something to say about this on Monday, but what do you guys think? Should the Bears just cut him now? Can Matt Forte handle the load by himself?

UPDATE 12:30 AM: Now that I'm finally off of work...

I heard a radio report the other day that if the Bulls didn't hire their coach before today, they would have to wait until after the NBA Finals because the league has a rule against making news during the Finals. Wrong.

Just heard Nick Swisher's sound clip ripping the media for writing how bad the Sox offense has been. News flash: it wasn't the media, it was your manager.

WNDU is listing 10 people with Notre Dame ties who might be considered for the Notre Dame athletic director job. Contacted today, Paxson said any speculation he might be headed to South Bend is unfounded.

Ok, so Flip Saunders got fired today and is available. Stop those Bulls rumors before they start.

Is there any other athlete in Chicago who combines talent and personality as entertainingly as Carlos Zambrano?

So is this truly a rift between Ozzie and Kenny or just a little heat-of-the-battle frustration?
