Urlacher will attend minicamp

| | Comments (11)

So Brian Urlacher will attend the minicamp. What do you think the motivation is: being a good teammate or showing some good faith to increase his bargaining position for a new deal.

I'm guessing it's a little of both, perhaps more of the latter. Plus as Brad Briggs reported recently, if Urlacher did boycott he would have risked losing millions from his signing bonus.

This way, Urlacher can show he's healthy and won't be a distraction.

The Bears probably will respond by sweetening his deal in a compromise that will make both sides happy. So it was a good business and PR move for Urlacher.

Gee, big Bri, don't do the Bears any favors....it's only your JOB which you have a signed contract for. Go tackle yourself.

Nothing more than a PR stunt. He knows the fans are starting to hate him, so why not go to the camp and look like the good guy for once.

I hope we don't make the mistake and pay him.

Blessed be thy name...

He can play, or walk as far as I'm concerned.

I used to be a BIG fan, but this guy is a tool; and if he never suits up in a Bears uniform again, I wouldn't shed a tear.

"In The Beginning" I really liked him, and the skill set that he brought to his position.

But he's 30 (?) ... oft injured, and isn't the good character guy that I remember him as being earlier in his career.

He's a brooding boor, who doesn't have time for the media, and therefore doesn't have time for the fans ... who are the direct link between him and the various reporters who are the people that relate his perspective to those who aren't privy to having a "private" conversation with Lord Urlacher.

Screw him!

So what. Are you going to have a thread when he has a bowel movement too??

Roman responds: Yeah, you're right. Face of the franchise, star linebacker, threatens to miss a mandatory minicamp because of a contract negotiation, then does an about face and shows up and you don't want us reporting it.

It's all about the Benjamins Roman, I have to agree with you. Child support took more than he expected I guess.

"Roman responds: Yeah, you're right. Face of the franchise, star linebacker, threatens to miss a mandatory minicamp because of a contract negotiation, then does an about face and shows up and you don't want us reporting it. "

well...uh...now that you put it that way.

see... the first way made it sound different. Ok...got ya..keep a chill on it it. Hows the Balcony this year? What you got growing??

The Urlacher may be for the Face...

But Hesterizer will really condition your Hair while you shampoo!!!

I happen to like this kind of modern-day reporting. Gone are the days when the star linebacker, The Face if you will, could pass gas and we would have no idea. Can you imagine - the horror!!! If he farts, we'll know what it smells like - pronto! Whew.

Werent some of you who claim this isnt newsworthy the same people who almost burnt down Halas hall last summer at the mere whiff of a Lance Briggs hold out??
