The facts have been revealed. Cedric is innocent...in case you didn't know already.

To be honest, the first thought that came to my mind when I saw that picture was if I could fly over and join the party! It looks like harmless fun to me. However, the picture proves absolutely nothing. All it does is fuel more hate comments and tasteless jokes from the meatheads of the crowd to pile on Benson. You'll see soon enough.

I think this would add evidence to Benson's side of the story. Here he's young, rich, and on a 30 ft. boat with bikini-clad hotties. Isn't it reasonable to assume that the Lower Colorado River Authority would be somewhat jealous? They are human after all.

I'm just saying the pic looks to help Benson's cause. Whoever is right or wrong in this matter, more facts are needed before any conclusions can be had.

Roman, ? for ya. Does Marriotti receive his regular paycheck for writing a story on Benson three days after every news source had reported on it? Oh, and for repeating pretty much word for word what had already been known?

The truth will come out with all the witnesses. But a few points weigh in Cedric's favor -regardless of his football ability, (no thanks to that idiot popinjay, Jay Mariotti):

1. Broad daylight..His Mom is on the boat...nice(decent)looking friends...New boat...tied up to other boats - not showing off. This is not a scenario for going wild.. this is a barbeque.

2. Texas rent-a-cops. In Texas, almost anyone can be a pistol carrying sorta-cop. I lived in Houston and learned of a unique "Magistrate" system they have there of "Independent" cops who rent themselves out and serve the "independent" Justice of the Peace's there. It is really incomprehensible to us Northerners...but may be a factor here.

3. Texas "surly" cops. There is a 'Macho' attitude of "some" cops in Texas which is akin to the "Macon County Sherriff" mentalilty.

Interesting story, but my sense of fair play is offended by cheap shot artists like Mariotti. Jay should have been let go years ago.

The thing I though about when I saw the pic was that Benson has some cute lady friends

Roman, they look like beer bottles to me, not vodka, but I really don't know. Then again, there might be more blown up picture than the one you posted in other sites that show that bottle. Even then, I don't know any house or boat parties hosted by ANYONE older than College kids (or frankly, even College parties for that matter) that doesn't have beer, red bull, vodka, wine coolers, tequila, mike's hard lemonade, etc., whatever, unless it was like a children's birthday party. Regardless, the picture will not be used as evidence in a court case. It was released online and in the newspapers to help sway public perception in favor of Benson or to the police. In fact, I believe the picture was submitted by Benson's friend and 1st witness, Ms. Elizabeth Cartwright, correct? She obviously thought this picture would help Benson, not hurt his case. I was just saying that if the average Joe already didn't like Benson as a Bear, this picture will not make him or her change their mind. It will only have the Benson bashers pile it on even more.

Those dirty filthy cops are probably Cowboys fans. As a Bears fan I want to see Benson have competition and earn the job this year. I look forward to that and it would be a mistake to waste that opportunity over this bs. That only benefits the Bears and regardless the weight falls on Cedric to help his image. Well, seems to me he is enjoying himself on a nice Sunny Day with his mother.

The problem that lies in this situation is that he is a target, by redneck police officers, who are from Texas, and want to prove the Cedric that since he is an NFL football player, they still have more power over him.

So they single him out, and harass him every chance they get. This time, they crossed the line, and I hope that the judge throws the book at them. Screw these police officers, they give the good police a bad name.

My thought was he sure looks cocky and insulting, how can he drive a boat like that, oh wait he isn't driving, he's eating. Well driving a boat while eating should be illegal in texas, especially if you and your friends are having more fun than those texas boat rangers will probably ever have. Cops in Texas have been historically racist and Benson would have been considered a thug if he would've shot those cops in self-defense. It's good to see that some people, both Black and White, see that the media is trying to steer the people's opinion towards him being guilty. Benson may not be Walter Payton, but he's still a Black man, wealthy in a hater's world. These cops see this well built attractive young black man with these white women, mediocre at best, and become jealous. He's rich, he doesn't eat donuts for the entire 3 meals out of the day, he's not getting shot at for a living for $50,000 a year, and he can get the young white women that the cops wish that they could pull. Isn't it interesting that Benson's female friend stated that her Black friend was being beaten up by cops? That just goes to show you the mentality embedded in the minds of these white people, especially in Texas. Because there was alcohol on the boat doesn't mean that Benson was drinking. He never denied that there was alcohol on the boat. If it was a popular boating and drinking spot, why wasn't anyone else arrested? Probably because they wasn't Black and rich flaunting young white women like Benson.

OK, I may catch some heat for this, but looking at the picture and knowing Texas rich racial history, has anyone considered that maybe Cedric Benson was arrested for BWBWHWW (Boating while Black with HOT WHITE WOMEN!)

While we pretend to be a little more evolved in the North, there are still big problems with it in the South. On another note, I've listened to Sports talk radio in Austin when I found out about this (because I actually dont consider him a bust yet) and heard a lot of callers saying that Benson's story is not far fetched.

As long as Benson is a Bear, we should hope that he does well, Why are there so many people hoping that the Bears get rid of him? Instead we should hope that we have two good backs in Benson and Forte that can help us get back to the Superbowl!!!

Clearly Cedric has learned nothing since living in Chicago. He's missing a few things, namely: mustard, onion, sweet pickle relish, a dill pickle spear, tomatoes, sport peppers, a dash of celery salt and a poppy seed bun. What an idiot!

I've boated on Lake Travis (Devils Cove) many, many times. This is just my opinion so take it for what it's worth.

Good or bad, the place is crawling with cops all over the place. People who live down there know to not even try getting behind the wheel if you've had a drink coming off the lake, because these cops are VERY zealous. While that sounds like a public safety issue, it can at times border on harassment. We've had our boat pulled over for fabricated reasons, just on the chance they may find something.

I think this is a case of an overzealous cop trying to exert his authority. Cedric may have said something "cocky" but my guess is the punishment far outweighed the crime. That's Texas justice.

I hear that the city of Gurnee is sending their tactical unit down to Texas to stage a raid on Bensons's boat. seriously what I see is a group of white sports columnists who have very little experience in the "real world". many of which are eager to convict Benson or any other black athlete before the facts come out. face it racist cops don't arrest and beat down white men(unless they are gang bangers)in the name of justice. the message I get from the media is that the police are just doing their jobs and that black men are dangerous. the media lacks the courage to address a system of justice in which racists can mistreat and disrespect other human beings without facing any consequences for their actions. fear and ignorance of non white people is a greater problem than a few "Pacman" Jones type trouble makers.

The onions must also be chopped....that is the only way they can coexist with Plochmans yellow. Of, course the bun must also be steemed, leaving a soft pillow for the poppy seeds to stay in place.
