The excitement is back at the UC

And you know what sport I'm talking about. Went to the Hawks-Ducks game last night, and I have to tell you, I haven't seen hockey that exciting since Savvy was playing with Secord and Larms and Douggie at the Old Barn. What a game.

I've been listening to my buddy Dan McNeil talk about how now is the time to buy season tickets, and he's right. This Blackhawk team is young, talented and hungry.

The anthem gives you goosebumps again and the action was playoff-calilber.

Kane and Toews may not be Michael and Scottie, but these guys are unbelievably talented and tough for being so young.

The Hawks protected their young goalie, took the body and attacked offensively.

The UC wasn't entirely filled because it was a Wednesday, but this team is worth the price of admission.

You're absolutely right about something special happening, and it is great to see. I live about 600 miles from Chicago, so i'm somewhat limited in my attempts to be able to see them play; however, i live where the Predators are seen, so i have got to see a couple games. But being a die-hard Chicago fan in all sports, sorry White Sox, i'm all Cub, i root very hard for the teams that especially show heart and grit, and i believe the Hawks show both. And being so young to boot, it leaves fans with alot of hope for the future.

And for all the people who were so quick yesterday to blast Denis for starting Crawford, while giving Lalime a blow, it sure put a smile on my face to see Crawford not only get the win, but a shutout win was just great. How about all you know-it-alls leave the coaching to Savard, and let's see where he can take this bunch of hard workers, OK!!!

Question: How many posts will this thread get?

Roman responds: You can't feel the buzz because you're in Ariz.

Roman, I am completely with you. I took my 12-year old son to the game Sunday against the Canucks, and I too have not seen such an exciting home team in Chicago for decades. This team is indeed hungry and aggressive, and very talented too. In the last four days and three wins, they have knocked at least three pucks out of the air for goals, including a back-to-the-net deflection by Patrick Sharp that was one of those plays that makes you realize how talented these guys are. This is a very exciting team, and it is really exciting to watch them play and charge toward a playoff spot.

Roman, I've decided I will only support professional Chicago teams that are playoff contenders. I will give each team (White Sox, Hawks, Bulls, Bears) the benefit of the doubt. As long as the phrase "if the season ended today" is complete with "the ___ would make the playoffs" I'll continue to show up at games.

The Hawks remain intriguing & the Bulls a severe dissapointment.

BELIEVE!!

Exciting time to rediscover the Hawks! There is no quit in this team and the best years are ahead. Don't know if they'll make the playoffs this year or not but they're certainly making a great charge at the right time. Great to see Crawford's first win/shutout coming against the defending champs. GO HAWKS!

If the Hawks do the nearly impossible, and squeeze themselves into the playoffs, expect to see sellouts consistently next year. This franchise is back. The team is young, exciting, and on the rise, the ownership has reversed course from everything it did wrong in the past, and most importantly, the Chicago sports landscape is ripe for the Hawks to regain its perch in the city.

Go Hawks!

I was at the Celtic Crown (on Western) for Trivia last night and was watching the game. They were playing a basketball game (Indian -vs- Minnesota?) on the big screen and I requested they switch to the Hawks game. They were kind enough to make the switch, and man was that a fun game to watch. I couldn't concentrate on the Trivia! I was telling a buddy of mine about the Hawks last week, how they are really coming around, and he was there watching the game and agreed that they looked really good. It has been too long since I have been excited about a Hawks team, way too long. They were all over the place, they got the Ducks off their game what an exciting game to watch. Great intensity on both ends of the rink. And how cool is it that the kid Crawford gets his first NHL win with a shutout? What a great game, this team looks like it is going to have a great future with these young guys.

Go Hawks!

yes they are...commit to the Wampum....attend a game

Like I said before...within 2 years, we'll be back to the mid 70's. Hawks will be the hot ticket. Bulls will be an after-thought

Tommy...you forget....Bad Acid and Annonymous Sex..

Best Glaucoma Medicine.......

What's it like out there anyway? I mean the medicine. Arizona glaucoma medicine, that sounds better than Northern Lights!

As soon as I stepped away from my computer I changed my mind. I actually think you are a likely Jeopardy aficionado, probably good at history politics and movie quotes if I had to guess.

Took my 9 and 4 year olds to the Vancouver game Sunday. Now they get home everyday and fight over who gets to be Patrick Kane or Patrick Sharp when they don their mini sticks in the basement. Great to see and also great to see some home games on the tube. Nice gesture from the home fans Sunday when Bobby Hull and Espo were shown on the Jumbo-tron receiving a standing ovation.

Yep. They play a few games and may/may not make playoffs.

I've seen enough pathetic Hawks games (including this year) that I'm tired of getting ripped off bookoo dinero for the poor entertainment.

2 goals against in the last 5 home wins; with all of those teams ahead of them in the standings. Another rough one with the Sharks Friday, but Lalime will find a way to shut them down too. Go Hawks!

And now, back to the show....It is great to be a Hawks fan again! Live in Idaho now but, don't miss a game because of Center Ice. Home games on in Chicago is fantastic but, could be so much better with with one change; bring back Pat Foley to do the T.V.. John Weideman is great on the radio, he should stay. But, the t.v. coverage is painful to watch and I always listen to the other team's broadcast when available.

It would be nice to be home to experience the re-surgence of Mullet army that is BlackHawk Nation.
