Shaq Trade to Suns Just 1 'Yes' Away
Trade Would Send Dominant-Yet-Aging Big Man From Miami to Phoenix

Share The seemingly improbable pairing of an aging Shaquille O'Neal and the run-and-gun Phoenix Suns is just a final "yes" from the Suns away from happening, according to NBA front-office sources.

Sources told ESPN.com on Tuesday night that the Miami Heat have already agreed to send O'Neal to the Suns in exchange for All-Star forward Shawn Marion and out-of-favor guard Marcus Banks. Miami is simply waiting for Phoenix management to complete a medical examination of O'Neal and formally accept what would rank as one of most unexpected trades in league history.

Culzie I think this one is going to go through. oh-oh, Pax is going to need some security.

Hey Culzie, you should sell Shaq some beautiful lakefront property in that desert of yours!

BCulz:

Shaq will only be renting.

Maybe Julie B. can give him online yoga classes. Perhaps that will help Shaq play more than 5 games.

KLSS:

Pax's bullet-proof limo is waiting (is it to keep angry fans at bay or because M Villano is organizing a hunting party?).

One last thing to ponder...

If Ice Dancing is considered a sport, can we then have a blog topic on ballroom dancing?

Sounds like a plan, Seedster - but I'd rather give him yoga lessons in person. The mental image of Shaq in Downward Facing Dog would be priceless.

And what is it that you wanted to discuss regarding ballroom dancing? You'll never get a blog topic because if Roman doesn't even consider golf a sport, you can forget dancing, ice or otherwise.

Here smarty Pants...

There are more than 16,000 acres of desert lakes surrounding the Phoenix-metro area, including Roosevelt, Apache, Canyon, Saguaro, Bartlett and Horseshoe reservoirs, and the ever-popular Lake Pleasant.
Near Mesa, the Lower Salt River is a bastion for tubing, swimming, and cooling off, while in the high country scenic lakes, rivers and streams wait for your fishing line, canoe, or bare feet.

Anyone else want to sound stupid??

So are you gonna sell him some or what? You do have a beautiful pitch. And leave my pants out of this.

Julie B:

In person?

You are a glutimus maximus for punishment.

Downward Facing Dog? Sounds like the name of a rock band.

BC:

There may be 16,000 acres of desert lakes, but there are also 13,000 homes in foreclosure (according to the WSJ). Shaq's renting.

Seedy I believe you're right Shaq will be renting aren't don't high-class rentals handled through realestate agents also?

And I believe Bobby Knight is available for M Villano's hunting party but I doubt if Cheney is.

And I also believe Downward Facing Dog is my ex-wife's native name.

How many of those foreclosures are $5M or more?

Good thing I dont list homes. I buy them.

Do the Math seedy....if you buy homes and prices are dropping, is that a good thing or bad thing for you?

CHICAGO ON TRACK FOR SNOWIEST WINTER IN ITS HISTORY...

CHICAGO -- Snow across the Chicago area on Wednesday wreaked havoc with travel schedules, closed several malls and caused numerous minor crashes on area roads.

The storm system dumped about a foot of snow in some portions of Chicago's north and northwest suburbs. Temperatures dropped overnight and black ice formed on local expressways, including Interstate 90 and Interstate 55.

Hey thanks for the update, BC. For the life of me, I just could not figure out what that white stuff was falling from the sky. Seriously, if it weren't for your last post, I might not have realized that it's January in Chicago. Screw Jerry Taft, I'm lookin' to you for all my weather reports from now on. You and the groundhog.

If you buy and the prices are still dropping that's a bad thing.

If you buy thinking that the market will eventually rebound, that might make sense. Unless (and there's always one of those) in addition to those 13,000 existing homes in foreclosure, there are hundreds or thousands more new homes that have never been lived in, but still are part of the housing stock. Then you are in a heap of trouble, as prices will only drop. Now, of course, all those baby boomers may retire in the next few years and move to AZ, but then again, they have to sell their homes to do that. And the air quality in Phoenix is poor.

I hope you make a killing, but you better have a 10 year plan for doing so.

Oops, check that - it's February. I'm going to flip my calendar right now.......

Seedy...

I dont come to Devry and show you how to teach pimple faced kids how to write code....

so... you shouldnt tell me how to do MY job!

Roman...how are the Brass at ST bracing for this? It appears the Real Estate industry is not the only industry in trouble.....as a matter of fact....I have a feeling, that NO industrys will go unscathed (points?) in this time of market uncertainty....

Shrinking ad revenue realigns U.S. newspaper industry
By Richard Pérez-Peña Published: February 7, 2008

In just the past few weeks, The San Diego Union-Tribune eliminated more than 100 jobs, one-tenth of its work force. The Chicago Sun-Times began a round of deep newsroom layoffs, then put itself up for sale, and publishers in Minneapolis and Philadelphia warned that tough economics could force cuts there.

Not long ago, news like that would have drawn much commentary and hand-wringing in the newspaper business, but in the past few months, reductions have become so routine that they barely make a ripple outside each paper's hometown. Since mid-2007, major downsizing - often coupled with grim financial reports - has been imposed at The San Francisco Chronicle, The Seattle Times, The San Jose Mercury News, USA Today and many others. The same trend is affecting newspapers in Asia and Europe as well.

Devry? Where'd that come from?

You are about as far afield as they come.

I'm a "closet" economist, which is difficult to say and admit. My day job is also very far afield of economics.

But I enjoy reading the tea leaves.

This struck me as funny...In a.. EnglishActorInAGaySnuffFilm Sorta way..

when..was it you, Seedy....who rip't off with...

"You are a glutimus maximus for punishment."

Now...have I just proved this is an unbearable off season for us or what?...would you let me speak for you this horrifically.. is what I'm trying to really ask...

I have no idea what this thread is about
