Gameday: Bears vs. Packers

| | Comments (73)

The Bears' strip club is open again, but Green Bay is moving the ball at will.

How slow does Adam Archuleta look?

This Bears Team is WITHOUT A DOUBT the WORST in the NFL! I can't see a team on their schedule that is a sure win. If they win 4 games I will be impressed. Lose tonight and the Matt Ryan watch is on!!!!

Griese looks weaker than Grossman.

The Bears are BAD!!! This team will win no more than 5 games this year. What the hell were they working on in the off season and in training camp? When they draft in the top 5 this year they need to spend all of their draft picks on offense. This is brutal to watch. The season is over after five games!!! P.S FIRE RON TURNER.

Was Archuleta just getting a snack at the concession stands??

well... with proper props to Denny Greene.

"They are who we thought they were".

man... they SUCK.
The defense, although without key components... this is funny. Favre has around 250 yards passing at halftime and 2 GB rb's have combined for over 100 yards rushing.

The Bears offense?

what offense?

they suck bad. Really really bad.

oh yeah.. it was ALL Rex Grossman's fault hahahahahahaha

Griese has just destroyed the fantasy football value of Brian Berrian.

How many more games does Griese need again??

I hope he comes around in the 2nd half for their sake.

Hey...we have a QB on the bench who is 18-8

ummm....

Alright!!!!!

Bears had their chances! At LEAST we are in it! Greise is at least...moving the ball! Tied UP! Go Bearsz

Archuleta looks a lot faster than #1 receiver MM.

The bears are winning the turnover battle, but you know what all you Griese lovers, he does NOT look any better than Rex Grossman.

Its all Olsen...

Benson is just not what we need. No instincts.

Ron Turner, where have you been.

Griese is finally playing like a real QB

Ron Turner, where have you been.

Griese is finally playing like a real QB

well I'll give them credit and I'll give Griese credit.

but let's not delude ourselves, Green Bay had this won and they blew it, with all those stupid penalties and the turnovers.

their offense also got strangely conservative late in the game.

but let's get to the bottom line.

Green Bay is a pretender, we all knew it and they've been exposed. However, the Bears are also a pretender. The entire NFC outside of the Cowboys is a fraud, a joke actually.

can we start the playoffs now, and put the Cowboys in with say 3 REAL teams from the AFC (Pats, Colts and another)

and figure it all out?

Wow. Take the win and run. Brian Griese showed the veteran poise and leadership that the Bears were seriously lacking before. And give Tillman a ton of credit. He pretty much saved the game early on with his two huge strips.

Sweet Win!

Griese looked like he found a little rythem.

Cedric gets better after 20+ carries.

Using Tight Ends is Good.

P-Nut is the MAN.

Urlacher is Favre's Dad.

Lovie Owns Lambaueauau

BEARS!!!!!

this is funny reading all this stuff being posted during the game.
Bogey, if you want to get real, the Bears had the Chargers,Cowboys and Lions beat and they blew it. So go off yourself with that jibber jabber. The Bears won because they won.
Case closed. On to next week and the next simple simon who dares to go one on one with me. Oh and what was that girl's name....the Big B.G. fan? She was right.....thanks for the positive spin..........oh- Rebecca...though only it wasn't spelled that way..I don't think.

How stupid is Lovie Smith? First of all Griese showed tonight he is an NFL Quarterback, unlike the Bob Avellini Mini-Me, Rex Grossman. Lovie sticks with Rex, loses the Superbowl, nearly ruins the 2007 Season because of Rex, almost gets every member of the defense hurt because they are on the field 75% of the time and FINALLY he bows to the pressure and is FORCED to bench GROSSman although you can tell he really doesn't want to. Then tonight, after Cedric "Rally Killer" Benson has proven in the 1st 4 games of the season and with 25 carries for 56 yards that he is not a running back but a sack of s--t and a fumbling machine, what does Lovie do? After the Defense has played magnificently in the 4th quarter, he puts the ball in Benson's hands repeatedly. It costs them a 3 and out, then with 5 minutes left Lovie gives him the ball AGAIN on two straight plays and nearly costs them a chance to win. If not for A. Peterson, Olsen, Griese and Clark, Lovie and Cedric Benson would have lost the game for the Bears. Someone please tell me why Lovie is still the coach? He had to be forced into benching GROSSman and now it looks like he will have to be FORCED into benching Cedric Benson. Why does he persist in playing the wrong players? Would any other coach in the league hesitate to bench Benson? Play R.J Pope and Peterson. Look at Green Bay, they played two 7th round draft picks at running back vs the Bears and they both ran better and harder than Benson. Cut him now or at least bench him and the season may be salvaged. We have to get someone in there who can run the ball to open up the passing game now!!! By the way I guess Griese's arm is strong enough to throw the ball downfield. Lovie do something right......for once!

Can Griese start now? What poet Justice that we beat Favre and his guys again at home with Madden and those guys acting like someone died at the end of the game. They are supposed to be impartial but they appear to be Favre-lovers. This is why they play the games and not just on paper. Not to step on any toes but Benson didn't do Bo-Diddly as the game went on. I was texting a guy I work with all fourth quarter who is a Packer-backer and he even said that Benson was no threat. Other than a few runs including his TD he doesn't do it for me. Peterson got the tough yards when needed. He deserve more touches. The Bears are deluding theirselves if they think he got stronger as the game progressed. 25 carries and 57 yards at one point. Griese did a great job when he got on track. He did act shellshocked a few times but I like the authority that he brings to the huddle. It just takes too long some times. Tillman got the rewards that he deserved. Briggs came up with a few good hits and stops and Brian had a great INT that a guy who was less an athlete would have dropped. Anyone can be beat so I'm not giving anything to another team and I'm not taking anything away from them either. It's good that you have guys posting during the game but I think it's better to reserve judgment until the gave is over.

Greetings from Nepal- where it is Monday morning and I am just learning of our loss to the Bears. While we were 4-0 going into the game, I had a bad feeling because you can never go on past performances or win-loss records when it comes to these two teams facing off. So congratulations to the Bears - I had checked the socre in the third quarter when we were leading and this only proves that the games isn't over until the clock hits 00:00. Hopefully this will instill some confidence in the Bear's fans and when we meet again in December it will be another action packed game. I can't wait to watch American football instead of having four channels of cricket games to choose from......

Chin up Bears fans....

Roman responds: Hey, thanks for the post. See, not all Packers fans are losers, this nurse is in Nepal helping out the poor. Be safe.

Kind of an ugly win with the way the first half went, but it's still a big win and keeps some hope up for the rest of the season. Thanks to Tillman. Have to beat the Vikings now, and that's very likely to happen. I don't understand the announcers acting like the Packers lost it on their own. The Bears defense shut down the running game in the second half and was getting in Favres face pretty good. I was ready to give Griese a C minus, until the last TD. I'll give him a B for the game. Receivers need to get open downfield, and Griese needs to find them when they are. Bradley was open down the sideline on the play Griese tryed running for a first down. Good to see Olsen getting some action. He made a great catch for a TD on a badly underthrown ball. Benson ran with a little more enthusiasm, but didn't have a game like the Bears need from him. Some plays he didn't have a chance though. It's always sweet to beat the Pack, especially at Lambeau and the Pack bringing a 4-0 record into the game. Gotta beat the Vikings now.

What a game huh!? The looks on all those cheeseheads' faces was PRICELESS! Felt kinda bad for ole Ceddy once again though, what like 20+ carries and about 60 yards........WHAT A WAY TO RUN THE ROCK CEDRIC, keep that up and you'll have a thousand yards by 2015. All jokes aside and all things considered, with Rex outta the picture I would like the Chicago Bears to just play 1 game like an NFL team, they don't have to look like a juggernaut but MY GOODNESS! will we ever see a game where this group puts it all together? We've yet to see this in a Lovie tenure, Jauron or even Wannie! GO BEARS!!!!

I'm glad they won because I'm a Bears fan. But let's be honest, the Packers are weak like I've been saying ALL season. Favre threw a pass from his knees for Christ's sake! I don't like the way Lovie and Turner tries to back into a victory! Real teams ain't gonna make 5 turnovers like the Pack! I will give the Bears credit for one thing: The play action TD to Clark that won the game. I told a friend, before the play, that it would be the perfect call, but I didn't think they had the nerve to call it. Good thing for them they did.

Like I said, Bears win. I was off on the score, and on the benching of Benson, still should happen by the way. But was correct on our QB and the win. GO BEARS

Papa Bear is smiling. The race does not always go to the swift.

Thank God! Not all news this week from Chicago is depressing.

Sports are so difficult to watch because they are dominated by jocks, and jocks aren't terribly smart. I mean, what were Lovey and co. thinking when they got rid of Jones? It was obvious that that meant they were starting the season with no QB and no RB, and that makes it hard to score touchdowns, doesn't it? At least now we seem to have a quarterback, even though he's only mediocre (still an improvement).

Glad we got rid of Tank Johnson. Our defense obviously doesn't need him. We're just as good as last year when he was around. Glad we can't look forward to seeing him next month, but hopefully he'll help the Cowboys kick New England and Indianapolis' butts.

Maybe our defensive coordinator last year wasn't to blame for the SuperBowl failure. I thought it was his idea not to blitz Peyton Manning, but now I'm starting to doubt that. One thing is sure: our defense last year was three times as good as it is this year, and injuries can't explain all of it.

Hester should be used on nearly every play, mainly as a decoy, as he draws double coverage a lot and is always a threat to break one for a touchdown.

Thank God the Green Bay coaching box is right next to the Bears. Their offensive coordinator got Ron Turneritis in the second half and just handed us the game. Watching our tepid offensive plays still makes me sick to my stomach, though!

Man, I honestly gave up hope at half- time. I thought, "here we go again". And to lose to Green bay- in Cheeseland. But someone lit a fire in our loveable losers and I am so proud of their effort! This is the way I knew they could play all along. They were playing with passion and heart. Brian Erlacher is the heart of this team- I saw his face in the first quarter. He was disappointed. He knows what all TRUE Bears fans know- they are a great team. C'mon- we were just at the Superbowl! Three cheers for Da Bears! Yeah, sometimes we suck- but sometimes we rock!

Thank Packers Coach McCarthy for last night's win. In the second half, he seemed to lose his playbook -- the one with the quick slants that the Bears could not stop.

Our defense is still suspect -- but should be on the mend and getting better as long as no additional injuries pile up.

On offense, HEY, THE BEARS DO HAVE TIGHT ENDS. They let Benson carry the ball 20+ times and posted a win?!?!!? Olsen is a match up problem for most teams and Griese took advantage of it. All things contributors to this blog have suggested for weeks.

Hey Roman, anyway to slip this blog link to Turner? He could get a lot of additional ideas for his offense.

Walter Paytom couldnt find the tiny holes our line is making for the running backs. Keith, it would be like having you at offensive tackle. A total NO NAME.

Benson had 2.nothing yards/carry again....I guess 220 lbs of Benson doesn't wear down defensives any more than the 220 lbs of Thomas Jones did....subtract TJ's good feet, his speed, blocking and receiving ability....

Hey Culzie!! It's almost like TJ never left!!!

If they're not gonna play Peterson..."making the Superbowl without a running game"....Well?...Da Bears new slogan?...maybe Kruetz should print some shirts

and now for the self gratuitous promotion...go me

Our defense is what I said they were...and, haha, with McGowan...the TE's were right where I pointed to (and wow.. they became the top two wr's??!!), our QB isn't a little %$#@%, Hester's line-in up on O, "Hello Mark Bradley, we love you!!!," and Adrian Peterson made a nice open field move Cedric is practicing... right now... in his mirror at home..

ok now...Orton needs to beat out Grossman....he should be the #2 guy if Brian gets pasted

The Defense and The Special Teams get the game balls in this one, I think

Adrian Peterson, of the minnesota petersons, isn't gonna punk out like DeShawn Wynn did (visions of Chuck Muncie barfing in the Superbowl), so I hope we're ready..

Cedric ought to look laughable against Minnesota's front 7...and then... 'Adrian Petersons' for everybody next Sunday!!!

Where's Onterrio Smith?....(ie...better than Benson...even when he's baked...or even, get this... wearing the whizzinator....all floppin, tryin to trip him.....doesn't matter...he's still better)

I know it's kinda funny, but wouldn't bringing in Ricky Williams and Onterrio Smith come cheap and reap huge dividends....that's arguably better than Byner and Mack....No really...(you have to subtract 420 greeny points from the opinion you're currently experiencing)

we should sign them both...April 20th.... at 4:20 in the afternoon ....We Gotta make sure neither one of'em is at the "festival"

Anyway, I want Onterrio and Ricky....and I wanna use RexandCeds money to do it....Chicago needs a RB....I just gave ya two

Throw in some Orton, and I'd probably quit complaining...

Now, an acceptable name for that RB tandem...

Roman responds: I liked TJ a lot with the Bears, but he hasn't done squat in New York.

Thoughts on the game:

- Griese was adequate, just what you would expect
- Benson is useless, just what you would expect
- Not enough Hester, Olsen, Bradley, Wolfe & AP on offense
- Defense showed much heart in the second half

The Bears have at least stopped the bleeding. They have a chance, but only if they play like this again, to get to 5-3 before the bye week. More Hester, Olsen, Bradley, Wolfe & AP - less Moose and Benson would help us get there.

I don't think Lovie has the guts or common sense to do that, unfortunately.

the defense (inspired by Tillamn's stripper routine) finally woke up and quit buying into the Farve mystique and played like the "Monsters of the Midway" in the second half. Somehwere along the way Ron Turner either found some confidence in Greise or just said the hell with it this game plan ain't working let's try something different, either way he finally started calling some decent plays. Greise (with the exception of one INT) played a good game and showed veteran patience and ability. Could this possiblly be a turning point in the season that leads back to a play-off berth?

It is nice to win and the D woke up in the 2nd half but I see some real problems with this team.
The recievers can not get open at all (play Bradly!) while Benson looks like a total bust.
He does nothing between the tackles (where he supposed to be at his best) and when he gets outside he just runs out of bounds. He looks like he has no heart at all.

Olson looks like the real deal and it was nice to see the TEs actually used like a real NFL team for a change.
Hester spreading the field seems to be a good idea and I would like to see Wolfe on a few screens.

Wow, what a great win. I thought our guys showed a ton of heart and character by winning a game they shoulda lost. That said, this team really sucks. The offense was inept for the most part. Our running attack is nonexistent. Receivers don't get open and the o-line can't block. I predict the Bears D will continue to give up a ton of yardage week after week. I DON"T think that we'll be the beneficiaries of 4 turnovers every week. Unfortunately that's the only way we'll win any games.

As I sit here in western Wisconsin savoring a Bear victory over the dork-led Pack-it-inners, I can't help but be optimistic. Surrounded by Packer and Viking fans and a local media that thinks the Packers are the only team and Favre the only quarterback in the N.F.L., I love the idea that the Bears caused Favre to tie Blanda's interception record. Two hundred seventy -seven interceptions and one hundred forty-three touchdowns! And Minnesota next week, which means I'll get to watch two Bear games in a row since Fox focusses on the Pack and Vikings here. Life can be occasionally rewarding, even for once-again disappointed Cub fans.

We all needed that didn't we.

Thanks Bears.

BEAR DOWN!

How refreshing. A QB who sticks around for the 4th quarter of a game.... Doesn't think his job is over just because they are behind....

Of course, if I hadn't watched all of Griese's games, I wouldn't have had much hope from the 3rd quarter on. I have watched them though. :) The best part was, the whole team got it together. It's going to be fun watching them get more confidence in each other with every game. I've seen it before, but the trouble was, there were a few grossmanesque players on each of those teams. Hopefully they don't have any left on the bears.

I guess some of the first posts are from having Cubbie Anger & Disappointment lingering and took it out on the Bears. The Bears have average 27 points in the last two games Brian played. The three games Rex played the average is 11 points per game. Now which would you guys/gals perfer?

I can take a lost, but go out trying to win the game!! (If that means slinging it 50 times, GO FOR IT!) Do NOT simply get a butt-kicking and then talk about as if it was a tennis or golf match. Maybe I view the game of football differently than some others.

Give me 24 to 35 points - and be prepared for a shootout - every game and we have a damn good chance of winning the game.

GO BEARS! ( WE WON, forget all the rest!)

Since Delhomme is done for the season and Carr is hurt, NOW is the time for Angelo to earn his salary and unload Grossman on the Panthers for at least a 3rd round pick.

Maybe we'll have to throw in Benson too but it will be worth it so Lovie can't play him anymore. Sometimes you have to take the toys away to make a point.

It's a good thing Green Bay is not as good as their record shows. I am really starting to wonder if I made the right team choice in the Bears. At least next week will be an easy win, but then again Detroit was supposed to be an easy one also. Wonder what happened to this team? The offense plays good and the defense plays bad and so on. I just can't see thios team going further than seven wins. Thats about how many easy teams they play this year and they already blew one of them. The sad reality is that the NFC north is the saddest and biggest joke in the NFC this year. Green Bay will win the division, but only because someone has to. Seven wins? If we're lucky!

Even though I still think he's an average back, Ced got the ball 27 times and guess what? We won! Go figure.

Did NBC show Rex on the sidelines at all? Just curious, because he basically acted like a disinterested spectator throughout the game. First of all, no one really talks to him. He stands there tossing a football 2 feet in the air to himself most of the time. When Griese and Orton are talking to the QB coach, Rex is nowhere near that meeting. Every once in a while, someone (not teammates) will walk past and say something to him and one time I saw him sit next to Griese and Orton on the bench. Other than that, he's a total loner on that sideline. There's no backing from the team obviously, but wouldn't it be mandatory that he meet with Pep Hamilton after an offensive series? the other QBs do, presumably to learn something, right? And I will say, it is nice to watch an entire game with no fumbled snaps.

BTW, I told you guys 2 months ago that Greg Olsen's a stud!

And I have a theory or 2 about why there are only bleachers at Lambeau, but I don't want to offend any Wisconsinites. But if I ate all that cheese and cured meat all the time..........

Roman responds: They showed Rex once. I was waiting to see if he would start laughing like he did last week, but he didn't.

Also, what's the deal with Bernard Berrian? He looked like he had a foot problem on the sideline, but I didn't see anything specifically happen to him. Anyone?

FYI, I'm proud to say that while I acknowledge that the food choices at Soldier Field aren't the best, at least it's all normal/edible colors. The nachos at Lambeau are green and gold. So disgusting!

Im with Julie on this one..

Cedric needs 25+ carries a game for us to win.

Also...no joke, Favre looked worse last night, than Ive seen Grossman look in two years.

Anyone else think that last night??

JohnF - that was a great post!!! ahahahaha! I WISH!!!!! Sad part about Rex is that i believe he STILL is not learning a thing and simply thing he went through some bad luck.

Julie - I agree about Ced. He doesn't impress me AT ALL. I like the mix at RB they showed yesterday. Send a full attack! Line up everyone and use Benson as a battering-ram since he loves it. He runs like a fullback. Hester has to stay in the playbook! He drew 3 defenders in the secondary yesterday! With the efficiency of Griese - and that field positioning we get from teams refusing to kick to Hester is instant offense!

Its VERY interesting how good the team is feeling/playing all of a sudden the QB is producing. That one guy has everyone playing better. Bears never needed a sensational QB, but a good one like Rothlisberger in Pittsburg. Bears are back and the Bulls look good!!!

Bears strip club...Tyna Robertson... Featuring... I'd save the flyer ...Brian's sig = frame

Onterrio Smith and Ricky Williams should be our running backs...

Cheech and Chong...

It's always sweet to beat the Pack, especially at Lambeau and the Pakckers being 4-0 coming into the game. Thank God for Tillman keeping the game in reach. I was ready to give Griese a C minus for the game, until he hit Clark for the winning TD. I'll give him a B. It does seem like all the Grossman haters are turning to Benson now. I don't think it's all his fault. As long as the opposing defense stacks 8 or 9 in the box, it's tough to run. There were 2 to 5 defenders hitting him at the line a lot of the time. As long as there is no threat of a vertical passing game, the defenses will continue to stack the box. The receivers need to get open downfield, maybe Olsen will help with this. Griese still needs to find receivers downfield when they're open. Bradley had his man beat down the sideline on one play and Griese didn't see him. Give Lovie some credit for lashing out at the defense at half-time too.

Just a few thoughts from the game.

Yes Ron Turner, we DO HAVE tight ends on the roster, thank you very much!

As much is said about Peanut being the key to victory, he got beat solid both times by a rookie, who fortunately couldn't hold on to the ball. No. 80 catches them both and scampers for big yardage. I'm not convinced as yet.

I'm sorry Mr. Urlacher, but Mr. Briggs is our best defensive player. Period.

Is it me, or is Lovie the one that looks like a deer in headlights?

Yes AGAIN Mr. Turner, we DO HAVE tight ends on the roster, thank you very much!.

I still like Benson at RB, but the Bears have to create more match up problems. Olson is a threat and a match up problem. Hester is a threat and a match up problem. Wolfe could be a match up problem, but isn't on the field enough. These guys need to play more and others -- Muhammad and Bradley -- need to sit more. Also, would love to see us use the shotgun (hmmm, what other teams use the shotgun, uhhhhh, the Colts, the Patriots, the Steelers, the Packers, the Cowboys -- okay, nobody who is good!), but I know I'm asking too much. Afterall, Ron Turner just found out this week that tight ends are allowed to catch the ball!

Roman responds: Wolfe's a match-up problem for the Bears. He's tiny.

Roman responds: I liked TJ a lot with the Bears, but he hasn't done squat in New York.

Leon Washington coming in on third down... where TJ is very effective... is hurtin him.... and I'm gonna have to replace him on my fantasy team if Mangini doesn't wise up...and then I have to tell Culzie Ced is God...what BS

TJ's a complete back...

ok, Ricky and Onterrio...anybody got any better suggestions?

Actually Roman, Rex did laugh once. It was when the University of Wisconsin marching band tuba section did their thing in the end zone then turned around one by one. The spelled out "Nice Clipboard Rex" with their tubas and he was watching and laughing. It would've been funnier if he had been holding a clipboard at the time, but we got it. It was pretty funny!

Roman responds: That's a lot of tubas.

bculz, Favre does throw picks sometimes, but he made mistakes at critical times in the game last night (very Grossman-esque) and that was unusual for him. Anytime an opposing QB has more turnovers than whoever is the Bears QB that week, it is unusual now that I think about it. The Packers had so many costly penalties and turnovers and they definitely had the attitude "we're going to win anyway." The Bears 'halftime adjustments' were immediate and it was clear this team was on a mission to create and take advantage of Packers' mistakes. Great game! And I made it home alive - not always a given for me in enemy territory.

What bugs me about Ced is that he goes down after the first hit and he can't cut. He never makes any spectacular plays either - y'know the ones where as a fan you go "now if only he could do more of that..."

The whole band was there - had to be 150 strong at least. Someone said they go once a year.

maybe Rex cant read...he did go to Florida!?!?!?

Roman, This was just the game the offense and defense needed, and gives us momentum, and more importantly confidence for next week's foe. Let us pray Griese stays healthy, and the team can heal up, and continue their improved play.

chicagosports.com has a blog called full-court press....weird...

Roman responds: I think we all know who had it first. Couldn't they think of a different name?

another koolaid drinking Bear fan.

The Bears had the Chargers and Cowboys games "won"?

they were dominated.... let me repeat that... DOMINATED in the 2nd halves of those games (ok, I can admit you can make the same case for Bears dominating the Packers in 2nd half, but the Packers misssd multiple chances to ice the game in the first half)

and they never had the Lions game "won" either, for that matter.

perhaps you're going to tell me the Bears also had the SuperBowl "won", but Rex blew it for them, it didn't matter that Indy was moving the ball at will, basically.

have another sip of that kool-aid.

or maybe being "stuck in the Wisconsin" causes degenerative brain disease.

maybe the NFC shouldn't even bother appearing in the playoffs, based on how the Cowboys are playing tonight.. hahaha

Please dont let them get away with that Roman...tell me you have a trademark/copywright/general pattent on that?

you could always borrow the name of my old HS underground team papers name.....

"Locker Roumors"

Why would you want to take claim for the name? It is not like it is very original, and it really does not represent your blog well. Yes, we all know you used to cover the Bulls, but I am assuming you have evolved since then. Your blog covers all sports not just B-Ball. Maybe you could call it "Sports Ramblings with Roman Modrowski". Play off your first name. Yes kind of cheesy but it just came to me. Anyone else have any thoughts. Lets' take over Roman's blog! lol

Roman responds: Ok, you're right, but I didn't bring it up. How about "Roman's Forum" ??

Great thing we found two tight ends, now we need to find a reliable slot receiver i.e.tom waddle. If you can just get that line to block for 1 more second Griese could do some more things with the ball,we may even discover a better running game.
People Lovie do not run personell.Remember when Nick Saban was being considerd for the coaching job and Nick wanted that responsibility and was told by Angelo that was his job.so Lovie
can only move marginal players, while Angelo hides and let Lovie take the heat for QB,RB,and Muhammed,He is too experience as a football career man to rock the boat. Don`t blame him either make the money and keep the job,no different from yours or mine.

Made a typo on Favre's TD's-443 TD's, not 143.

Hitman, your (notice the perfect grammar) deal with Culzie also included 2 weeks of no posts, right? You better man up and pull this out, find yourself a running back - do something! Search your waiver wire right now - someone's there worth grabbing. I heard Mewelde Moore might be headed to Tampa. Call Corey Dillon and see if he'll come out of retirement. I have no other suggestions, but I'll be disappointed if you lose this one. I also have TJ on one of my teams - the one that's in 1st place, ironically. I benched him this week.

Just a thought...If Eric Mangini isn't going to be using TJ, do you think he'd consider returning him to the Bears? I'm sure they won't ask for a receipt.

To clarify..the Deal was Ced's end of year stats vs. T2J's straight up...not FF team vs. FF team.

So..he can bench um, trade um, drop um, whatever...and the bet will still be who has a better year.

Im not going to get ahead of myself...and start bragging.....yet. but its not looking good for ya at this point.

Who knows...long season!

While I get your reasoning for "Roman's Forum"...the sports aspect of it is too subtle. Forum can be associated with many things. You need something that someone can get instantly if they are first coming to the blog page. If you wanted to play on the roman as in ancient roman times I would say "Roman's Arena"

Or what about "Roman's Sports Arena"

Bogey, until you can post without contradicting yourself, Have a nice day.

dude, you seriously need to get out of Wisconsin.

and stop sipping on that kool-aid too.

I'm watching some tape of Adrian Peterson and then Cedric Benson, because you told us elsewhere Ced's right up there with all other NFL backs.

but I'm having a problem. The Benson tape seems to be running at "half speed" compared to the Minny rookie, maybe a third speed, even though I haven't played with the speed settings.

Any suggestions?

How about Roman Gladiators?(just a thought)

Julie B., do we have to pay full price since he hasn't been used very well or do we get the Darwin Walker discount?

Roman responds: Every time I hear or read "gladiator," I think of a joke at the beginning of "Deer Hunter."

I'm not sure what the Bears return policy is, Chuck, I mean he is slightly used. I doubt we'd offer a full refund though.
