So Lance Briggs addressed the media today and admitted that immediately after crashing his Lambo early Monday morning (hours or so before he was supposed to be at practice) he reported the car stolen. Now why would he do that?
It's still not a huge deal, but it does enhance the suspicion that he had something to hide. That and the fact he fled before the cops got there. http://www.suntimes.com/sports/football/bears/531287,briggs28.article
It's not going to change things in the long run, but why can't the Bears go a few weeks without controversy? I mean, the media is not making this stuff up.
uhhhh...why do you think.
From what I heard, NBC is reporting that people saw him at a few clubs last night.
Connect the dots
He lied about the car being stolen and fled the scene because he was drunk and he either figured on his own or was advised that getting charged with fleeing the scene of an accident is better than getting a DUI. As far as the Bears having controversy, they, like every other NFL team will always have controversy. Now, if they were a MLB or NHL franchise they would have less controversy.
hmmm, why would you report a car stolen and then 10 minutes later?....well, if you have drugs in the car...and can't find them while you're fleeing the scene...of course..the car has been stolen.....but then you find the bindle or the bag..ummm, I don't know, lets say...10 minutes later..and come you to your senses.....and just say you panicked....cuz in reality...that's what ya were doin
Or he could have been that chitfaced and drunk dialed the first time
Pray the NFL doesn't piss him in the next couple of days
A report says Lance Briggs' car accident was really Rex Grossman's fault. Apparently, Grossman walked Briggs to his car to make sure he made it home okay. And, he reached in to get the snap on Briggs' seat belt. But, Grossman didn't get his hands all the way in and the snap popped out later, causing Briggs to slide out of his seat and swerve his car.
We'll never really know exactly what was going thru his mind because for one, none of us are Lance Briggs, but I'm sure past team circumstances danced thru his head. I've never crashed a Lambo before so I can't say how I might react after messin' up my new toy while trying to see how it feels to drive at a speed I'm normally not accustomed to, let alone with a vehicle, I found out the hard way, is tough to handle. HEY FRANCE, I'll trade you one Miguel Noriega for a Hans Peterson?
(1) Running away from the scene of the accident, (2) mis-reporting and then (3) talking to police nearly a day later.
Did anyone else think of Ted Kennedy?
Lance did not leave a drowning young woman in the car, but I suspect his reasons for running and lying also involved excess drinking.
I think he reported it stolen because he couldn't spell "lamborghini" in his text message to his agent. Then, because his agent isn't very smart (and couldn't spell lamborghini either), he told Lance to report it stolen. If nothing else, they can probably turn Lance's life into a reality TV show (As the Lance Squirms).
Seriously, athletes have been conditioned to believe they can get away with most anything and that fans will be all-forgiving. Based on some of the posts on the other Lance-related string, Bears fans seem willing to give him a "pass" on this crash. So why not make up some fairy tale? It seems to have worked before.
I had written a much longer post, but these few words will do!
Dammint Lance! DAMN! With only a million dollar guaranteed
signing bonus, you do not go out and buy a $350K car man. This
type of money should have been invested in real estate!!
You are an idiot!
Whatever the hell your excuse is I do not like it! If the Bears
let you go after the season, so be it! I hope you gave your momma
the rest of your signing bonus so you can go stay with her!
Would someone please give me a million dollars? Please!
Is this the dude who complained about not getting paid by the Bears and threatened to break his contract? Stupid....m****f*****...all these young ball players are young and stupid...Vick and Briggs and Tank whats-his-name...I'm not a football fan, but obviously stupidity runs through the players' blood. I blame the colleges for not giving a course in "common Sense" and "critical thinking."
If I spent $350K on a car, I can see my Father chasing me down on a football field now. Hell, it wouldn't be any practicing. Teammates laughing, coaches laughing, even security laughing because I am running and dodging to keep him from swinging on my butt!
He would be chasing while screaming out of breath "Three hundred thousand ON ONE DAMN CAR!" "I am whipping your $$$ when I catch up to you!"....*ha ha ha ha ha*...."And you tore it up?!"
You have to understand my dad is practical, he can see ten cars for that amount even though he would be wondering why so many, but NOT ONE! I sat down with him and made him understand differences in Mercedes Benz, Roll Royce and General Motors many years ago. He would buy a Benz, but not a Roll Royce or Bently - way too costly. Give him a dependable car to get to point A and Point B and back to point A he is happy!
I have to find humor in this story people. I know we have dream houses, cars, vacations and other items, but I was thinking about how my father would view this. It is just too funny for words!
Obviously Lance wasn't thinking at all....and higher than giraffe pootananny... This was just updated an hour ago... AP...and the Link.. http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/7164244?MSNHPHCP>1=10347
"Illinois State Police said they have no record of Briggs reporting a stolen vehicle. They did say that Briggs placed a 9-1-1 call at around 4 a.m. Monday, after initially saying he did not call police until sometime between 8 a.m. and 9.
But Master Sgt. Luis Gutierrez said Briggs gave "no indication of his car being stolen" during either call."
He couldn't even fix his story sober....whattaputz....whatta blacked out putz....
does any body know if i can buy his lambo for 150,000 after it gets back in one piece so to speak, letssee , the economy is in the dumps and the headline is about a guy and a wrecked lambo, been there wrecked that
Buying Real Estate is a way better investment !
Come on Lance....You can get some good deals on REO's and short sale property out here in AZ!
Call me Lance, lets divest that money thats burning a hole in your pocket!
The parallells between this and Lohan are very disheartening.
Could the Club owners in Chicago do us a flipping favor and not let these guys get PLOWED in their bars and drive home??? Seriously, or wait at least until after the seasoN!!!! DAMMMIT LANCE!!!!
I think for ten minutes or so he was thinking how much money he could make on a book titled "If I Did It" and then he remembered that had already been done and called back to rectify.
Can we stop talking about this "Lance Briggs Lambo Leap"? Wow, is that clever or what? Way funnier than Lance Lohan.
Sept. 9th.
At first I thought it would be a good barometer for the Bears. Now I realize it'll be a good barometer for the Chargers. SuperBowl preview? Yes. The Bears are ridiculous. Merriman's off steroids. LT has nowhere to go but down. Norv Turner has too much acne scarring. Every player on our team can make the Pro-Bowl. The Bears are winning this game. I'm betting the mortgage on it.
I'm with you Douglas,
Do I wanna pay the man 60 mil over 6 years if I have to wonder if he will show up in the papers crashing up a new car every morning.
Don't know what he was doing, but is it really worth losing your life, or your career. Maybe that is why he wants a bigger contract than Urlacher, probably had his future bm in the car and "lost control".
This seems like a desperate attempt by lance to get the bears to treat him with all the love that tank got before they finally dumped him. Has Mcaskie visited lance just once yet?
Maybe what is needed to stop this reckless behavior is another team building outing to the fbi shooting range.
Wait until Roger Goodell gets done investigating this one. He will probably be putting Lance on the bench for a little while. His investigators will do the job the Police won't.
Whatever his motivation could have been, it wasn't a smart move. Any one that had nothing to hide would have stayed and waited for the police to arrive. I bet he was drinking, driving at speeds he had never experienced and lost control of the car. It wouldn't be the first time I've heard of this kind of behavior from a young man. I think it's inexcusable. The Bears should say something besides the proverbial nothing that they usually put out.
Great post Douglas.... Woody I try very hard to never think of Ted Kennedy but since you mentioned him that comparision would have been better in Jamar Smith's case.
Lance went out like a 2 bit sucker. In light of Tommie's troubles, he and every other Bear are without excuse. Bears should cut him, but they won't because he is too important. Which goes to show you what the BEARS REAL standards are. They wink at it when its the right person. This is what I was alluding to in my other post about if it were Urlacher. And the NFL should come after Briggs very harshly (even though I know they wouldn't do the same for Urlacher). This is big business too. But folks who were ALL over Jamar Smith can cut him a little slack now. It happens.
I'm curious as to who exactly picked Lance up on the side of the road. He had to have gotten away somehow. He didn't call a cab, didn't catch the bus--if he had, someone would have come forward by now--did he call a teammate? Team official? Batman?
Even funnier than "Lance Lohan" and "Lance's Lambo Leap" (which was funnier until you pointed it out and dissed Butch) is.....
Earl's post:
"Maybe what is needed to stop this reckless behavior is another team building outing to the fbi shooting range." (Earl)
That takes top Honors!!!
Tim, what ever did happen to Mr. Kennedy? Did it hurt his career at all? What about losing his position and never being able to be a Senator? PAH-Lease. Blip on the screen. They smooved that over like it was a bump on the expressway. (probably the one Lance hit) But when it comes down to Jamar and Vick - folks want blood. They want the entire career. Black Folks get the FULL EXTENT of the LAW applied. Read below - what their counterparts get - - AND I DARE ANY OF YOU TO EXPRESS AN OUNCE OF OUTRAGE!
FYI - The Chappaquiddick incident refers to the circumstances surrounding the 1969 death of Mary Jo Kopechne, a campaign worker for Senator Kennedy. Kopechne was killed when the Senator drove his mother's car off of Dike bridge and into a channel after a party at Chappaquiddick Island, Martha's Vineyard. Kennedy entered a plea of guilty to a charge of leaving the scene of an accident and received a suspended sentence of two months in jail.
Report claims former QB Couch was using HGH, steroids
- 9 hours ago
1 NFL draft pick Tim Couch had doping regimens that called for anabolic steroids and human growth hormone, according to documents obtained by Yahoo.com. ... (Boston Globe)
Doctors orders??
(its not like they helped him much though....is he even still in the league?)
Keith, They gave Tank Johnson more than enough chances to get himself right. Why would they not give Lance another chance.
I would hate to be his insurance agent when this call comes in.
Perhaps I'm wrong but falsely reporting your car stolen after fleeing the scene of an accident is likely a felony. Oh well. I guess there's always room for one more.
Keith- I've told you this before-stay on the south side. And that means out of Soldier Field.
The Bears should cut Lance? The NFL should come after Briggs very harshly? Get a life. Go hangout with Ozzie Guillen somewhere, maybe he'll toughen you up a bit, you Sally. You're the definition of a 'hater.
Keith
The Bears start and end with Lovie...go cry to him. He is fast becoming the Marvin Lewis II.
Here is my starting line up!!! I put my money where my mouth is baby!!Lets go CEDRIC!!!
Manning, Peyton QB IND
Benson, Cedric RB CHI
James, Edgerrin RB ARI
Edwards, Braylon WR CLE

Jones, Julius RB DAL
Norwood, Jerious RB ATL
White, LenDale RB TEN
Ginn Jr., Ted WR
Raiders, DST DST OAK
Culzie, we only have one player in common - Calvin Johnson, but he's a backup for me. (we only start 2 WR's. my starters are T.J. Housh. and Deion Branch) Gould was such a homer pick! Otherwise, nice team. I'm curious what pick you had.
What was Lance thinking?
My guess is: "Man ... this is one bad motor scooter. I'll bet I can take this next turn at about 120, while eating a Big Mac, talking with my homies on the cell, and admiring myself in the mirror all at the same time."
Whoever said the Economy is bad....needs to stop getting all their political info from "the Daily Show"

WASHINGTON (AP) -- The economy grew at its strongest pace in more than a year during the spring as solid improvements in international trade and business investment helped offset weakness in housing.
Thanks again Georgie!!
Unnamed players allege corruption in professional tennis
Aug 30 10:31 AM US/Eastern
Match-fixing, some of which is linked to internet gambling, is not uncommon in professional tennis, according to a damaging report in L'Equipe on Thursday.
Two elite players made the claims, under anonymity, in an interview with the French sports daily claiming they have witnessed matches being "thrown" and that they had personally been offered bribes.
I think I figured it out, its not that the Media doesnt report the White athletes crime, its just that I about Fell asleep reading this article. ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ.............snorrrrrring!!!!!!
Deja Vu All Over Again? Former USC Star Quarterback Todd Marinovich Arrested on Illegal Skateboarding/Meth Charges: If This All Sounds Familiar, He Was Busted Exactly the Same Way Almost Three Years Ago - When this story first broke on Monday, we thought it sounded familiar. Not in a "jock busted for drugs story" familiar, but a "haven't we reported on this exact set of circumstances?" thing. And sure enough, after checking our BadJocks Archives, we found that back in September 2004, former Oakland Raider Todd "Robo Quarterback" Marinovich was caught by police skateboarding in an area where that activity is prohibited (as we recall, on the steps of the courthouse where he had previously faced a judge), lead them on a brief chase (low speed, likely) that ended up with officers finding methamphetamine and three syringes on him. Busted! Flash forward to August 26, 2007: Marinovich. Illegal skateboarding. Cops. Chase. Busted. Only this time they emptied his pockets and found one gram of methamphetamine, a hypodermic needle AND a metal spoon. The old Toddster is getting fancy in his old druggie days. (OC Register)

Romes, do you love my FFsquad or what? I do!
So Rex gets blamed for this too? Good grief!!!!
"Economy Grows at Fastest Pace in a Year"
This doesn't mean anything. A bloated, leaky economy can be just as hazardous as a starved one. Unless you compare this growth to previous generations of growth; in character, quality and substance, including other circumstances within the economy-including the sub prime loan industry, the statement doesn't carry any weight.
"Economy Surges Ahead at 4 Percent Annual Rate in Spring Despite Housing Troubles."
Are we surging ahead just enough to stay behind? What are we surging ahead of? Is it a sustainable surge? Is it asurge that is beneficial for the majority of Americans?
Housing troubles are very important to consider, especially if you're stuck with a ballooning mortgage and you've just been laid off.
Okay, what about the last pre-season game tonight?
Hopefully, in the Browns/Bears game tonight, some players will make their case for making the team. A lot of people aren't too concerned with tonight's game, but, the 'bubble' players are and the players the Bears keep will help add to team depth.
And, I hope these players play well and make ths roster or IR:
Garrett Wolfe
Tyler Reed
Mark Levoir
Josh Beekman
Anthony Oakley (Needs great game)
Mike Hass
Michael Okwo (IR?)
Darrell McClover
Rod Wilson (may be cut if Jamar Williams plays MLB)
Corey Graham
Brandon McGowan
Kevin Payne (IR?)
Trumaine McBride
Anthony Adams (needs a solid game)
Daniel Bazuin (IR?)
Players likely to go are:
Antonio Garay
Drisan James
Fontel Mines
David Ball
Bret Pierce
Chris Frome
Danny Verdun Wheeler
Greg Fassitt
Tim Mixon
Tyler Everett
Andrew Shanle
Copeland Bryan
Tory Collins
Steven Vieira
Jermaine Allen
Josh Allen
Quadtrine Hill
Chris Leak (Please not 2 FLA QBs)
Also, will the Bears play Terrence Metcalf at center. If they do Anthony Oakley is a goner.
I could have sworn that I posted something about this topic earlier this morning, but it must have been prior to my first cup of coffee.
Perhaps I was asleep at the PC and forgot to hit the send button.
BC - I don't know why my comment from yesterday regarding your FFL team wasn't posted. I like your team, we have Calvin in common, and you're such a homer for picking Ced and Gould. That was all I said, nothing worth editing. Some questions: What pick did you have anyway? What's your team name? Wanna know who's on my team? And when are we going to have a proper forum to discuss fantasy football? Roman, I hate to say I told you so, but......
Roman responds: You love it.
Lance went out, got a little happy, and realized he could get away with being drunk as long as he got home safely and without police involvement. Which he did. Lesson learned: Lance Briggs is prone to moments of extreme stupidity and moments of extreme intelligence, although initially reporting the car as stolen means the stupid outweighs the intelligent.
Culzie--here's a place where you can submit news links. This isn't the place.
Although, on the subject, did you even read the article? It points out what the rest of us already know--big business and international trade (read: corporations and people rich enough to do business internationally) are very much on the rise, while consumer spending is slowing down. Numbers on the economy merely reflect people using credit and racking up debt, which the current job market isn't allowing them to repay--hell, the article itself points out unemployment claims are rising. The Federal Reserve's brilliant solution to the problem seems to be to lower interest rates, allowing people to obtain more credit and, by proxy, accumulate more debt--which would be fine, except for the fact that the institutions benefiting from this strong economy don't appear to be creating jobs that would allow people to, say, live.
So sure, the GDP is swelling considerably, but with what as its source? I'm no economist, granted, but doesn't it seem just a bit skepticism-inducing that, while the economy is ostensibly booming, more and more people can't find work?
This reminds me of the mid-90's, when Clinton and Gingrich bragged so much about how they were getting people off of welfare--what they didn't bother to tell you was that people weren't necessarily stepping into a life of luxury (if making a living wage can be called as such); they just started working their butts off in crappy jobs, thus precluding them from receiving welfare benefits. Quality of life didn't go anywhere but down, a process the Bush Junta only hastened.
The current U.S. economy is teetering on the verge of a gradual-yet-severe recession--swollen, but full of nothing save for promissory notes no one will be able to fill unless enough funding and effort goes into essential services no one who can afford to wants to pay.
Thanks Georgie--or, rather, Karl and Dick.

Surely your not suggesting that Sub Prime loan for most americans is a good thing?
I mean, thats what is causing this crunch in the first place. Greedy lenders, and ignorant first time buyers. People who thought they could buy a home for 0 money down and double it in less than 2 years. Well, some people were able to do that, and then the ones who followed got caught "holding the bag".
I actually have a ton of Canandian Buyers now, who have a strong Loonie, and cant find a decent canadian property for under 1/2 a mil.
Come to AZ....ill find you a great deal!
Its a buyers market!
Do you think that the flip side of being so Pro-the little man, that you become biased towards the successful man. I mean, isnt really the successful man, who we all aspire to be, and if we fall short, we would rather tear down than pick up the pace.
Oh well...
Hey, so....by the way DM, joblessness and unemployment is at an ALL TIME LOW too....but good link on the Fark, i like.
4th Pick
High Plaines Ninji
Commissioner
FF Post would be a bit much actually, but, probably get a lot of traffic though.
Economy swelling? After I lost my job of 18 years,in November, I never made it to the balloon mortgage because they had to foreclose on one of my rental properties. After the tenants tore it up and refused to pay for months because they couldn't find work and afford utilities I couldn't sell no matter how hard I tried. With my unemployments checks being 40% of my income I had to let something go. Funny how I sleep better WITH a foreclosure on under-serving rental property on the south side. Thanks George and Richie Daley and all those polititions who care little for the little guy in the city. You get no more of my tax dollars Chicago. One property down-one to go.
WWE suspends TEN superstars
By SIMON ROTHSTEIN of THE LILSBOYS
August 31, 2007
IN the most decisive move of its kind in the history of the wrestling business, the WWE have suspended many of their biggest name wrestlers for breaking drug rules.
The action came after the 10 men - allegedly including former world champions Edge and Randy Orton, ECW champ John Morrison, Brit William Regal and rising star Mr Kennedy - were identified as clients of Signature Pharmacy in Orlando.
That company was busted by cops in February for the distribution of steroids and other prescription drugs to clients who had not been examined by a doctor.
It has now been established that their 'patient' list included the 10 grapplers.
Former stars Chris Benoit, Brian 'Crush' Adams' and Eddie Guerrero were also clients - all are now dead.
Chris murdered his wife and seven-year-old son in June before committing suicide with experts blaming decades of steroid and painkiller use for his mental decline. Eddie died from heart failure, also linked to years to abuse.
Vince McMahon's company released an official statement saying: "Based on independent information received from investigators from the Albany County, NY D.A.'s office, WWE has today, under the penalty provisions of its Wellness Policy, issued suspension notices to 10 of its performers for violations.

BBC Exposes Dog Fighting in Ireland
Aug 30 06:21 PM US/Eastern
By SHAWN POGATCHNIK
Associated Press Writer
DUBLIN, Ireland (AP) - A star of Ireland's Gaelic football league was exposed Thursday as a director of an illegal dog-fighting club, an underground gambling activity that has wrecked the reputation and career of Atlanta Falcons football player Michael Vick.
The 17-month undercover investigation by BBC Northern Ireland's "Spotlight" program, broadcast Thursday night, found evidence of 15 illegal dog-fighting operations in the British territory of 1.7 million people.
The program secretly filmed Gerard Cavlan, a 31-year-old member of the County Tyrone Gaelic football team, discussing his ownership of more than a dozen dogsāand bragging about how one "hard-mouthed dog" gripped another in its jaws.
"Sure he had him in the chest, and he shook him and he shook him for 25 minutes," Cavlan said during a conversation filmed covertly in his vehicle.
The BBC program deployed an undercover specialist from England who duped organizers of two dog-fighting clubs in Northern Ireland and two breeders of American pit bulls in Finland who supplied dogs to Cavlan and other Northern Ireland-based dog fighters. All were filmed discussing the tricks of their trade and methods of evading detection by authorities.
With my unemployments checks being 40% of my income
(umm..i dont want to get you into trouble, but i didnt think you were allowed to have any other income, while you were collecting UNEMPLYMENT benifits???) Would this be another example of how every cheats the system? Hey If you are sound enough to work, then...could you get off the public dole please? We shouldnt have to pay for your mistakes. Rental properties are risky business. You take risks, you either reap the rewards, or suffer the losses. That is the nature of risk.
Daley is a Democrat by the way...
So then if we actually had a FFL post, you'd answer my questions, BC? You are weak at WR, and have a rookie backing up a rookie. It's probably the easiest position to fix though. Just wondering where you got Peyton, cuz you took a hit in the WR department because of that pick. There, now that should get you to pay attention.
And I just ranked my players, huffed some ether, woke up...Ladies and Gentlemen.....My Team
Team Name..Ether-Huffin-Monkyz
qb..Brett Favre
wr..Jerry Porter
wr..Larry Fitzgerald
wr..Andre Johnson
Rb..Lamont Jordan
Rb..Thomas Jones
Te..Vernon Davis
Kicker..Robbie Gould
Defense..DaBears
Reserves..
rb..Marshawn Lynch
wr..Devin Hester
Te..Greg Olsen
Qb..Kyle Orton (Favres bye is what, week 9?)
Kicker..Joe Nedney
Defense..Detroit
Big Willy that is sad and scarry. I am dreaming of one day trying to buy some income property in the city. Looks like a bad idea. What a nightmare. You are certainly in my prayers.
Kudos to Chris Leak for being the sharpest quarterback in the game yesterday. His passes were precise, none were tipped (Mr. Orton), and I'm not sure how many, if any, of his underthrown passes were intentional but they were all located where only his receivers could make a play on them. Granted it was against third stringers, but his football I.Q. is very sharp. SLEEPER! Kids a winner and there's no substitute for that instinct.
Antwan Randell El who?
Hitman...ill make you a side wager that Ced has better year than T2J
also..thanks for the tip on Hester, just went and picked him up on free agent wire.
Go Bears!
Hitman, I love your team name. And thanks for writing about FFL - I do love it. Bears D should carry you far, my friend. You may want to consider layin' off the ether when picking a QB in the future though.
well bculz...ya know I gotta take that wager...ok, bragging rights...I'll wager...I told ya so's and ha ha's...I'll even throw in a "youre stupid"...I'll accept it if you will
and Julie...there's a picture online of curious george passed out with a bottle of ether in the background....that's where the name came from...and hey, Brett Favre has handed me my worst nightmares as a Bears fan....I even threw up my food one monday night...sober...cuz the Brett punked us so badly..I feel he owes me....
Good post Navarro! I agree about Chris Leak. And Wolfe had me howling all night long. I was at the game and that move he put on cleveland wooed the whole crowd. Was an ankle breaker.
League Name: FreeBalla's 2
My team neam is: High Plaines Ninji
I picked 3rd and am the league owner and commissioner.
I just picked up Hester..thanks for the Tip Hitmaniac!
#55
Wow, I'm just trying to picture anyone sane-slash-sober drafting Peyton #3 overall. But in any case, here's the lineup for "Tom Brady is Hot" (formerly "High Maintenance"):
Starters:
RB: Reggie Bush
RB: Travis Henry
WR: T.J. Houshmandzadeh
WR: Deion Branch
TE: Dallas Clark
QB: Tony Romo
K: Neil Rackers
D/ST: Carolina
Reserves:
QB: Vince Young (will likely end up starting him frequently, but can't resist Romo's week 1 match-up)
RB: Cadillac Williams
RB: Chris Henry
WR: Calvin Johnson
WR: Greg Jennings
WR: Wes Welker
D/ST: Seattle
So, what do you guys think? I mean aside from my team name, which is utterly genius.
BTW, Hitman - that is a funny picture. When I googled it, another one came up with him smoking a pipe in a big red chair. That definitely would've been my logo last year had I known about it!
Bet. Braggin Rights - I told you so's - Lots of HAHA's - Your stupid and No Blogging for 2 weeks?
Is it Thursday yet? I'm starting to get antsy over here.
you're welcome, bculz....usually, all my reserves are rookies I think are gonna blow up midway thru the season or in Hester's case...rookie season at wr
This is the first year in a long time I just ranked my players and went to bed...don't really know anyone out here yet....The cool part about that, tho...no money involved...I could pick my Bears and Raiders...
Sorry JB, just saw yur post...
ok...
I picked Manning in first round, Edge then Cedric...then Braylon and then Calvin...I picked up Hester and McNair over the weekend and got rid of Norwood and OAK DST.
I will see who heats up after first round and make some changes if needed at WR.
Its a tough league, lots of know-it-all ballBusters (go figure), so little trade potential.
Ummm...did someone who just picked Mr. Reggie,Tweener size, 3rd down back, split time with Duece, cocky, dating some socilaite sl*t bag, BUSH in the first round question me picking last years SUPERBOWL QB Peyton Manning?
Let me say again, that I picked Peyton last year first and I WON the whole league. That makes me 1000% in fantasy football leagues. How did you do last year?
Reggie Bush??? LOL
i mean...come on....reggie...bush...#1?....sheeesh!!!
Excuse me? You are laughing at me? Get over yourself and your #3 Peyton pick. I had the luxury of the dead-last pick, thank you. Your #1 RB is Edge (really, really great last year on a fabulous team - LOL indeed), #2 is Mr. Unproven-play-cautiously-so-as-not-to-blow-out-knee-Benson. Your #1 WR is Braylon Edwards, dude. Who's tossing to him in Cleveland again? You've done yourself a disservice getting rid of Norwood in favor of Hester. In fact, I hope your starters stay healthy becuase all of your backups are weak. And yeah, your right. Kim Kardashian will probably ruin my season.
Ron Rivera OUT - to S.D.! Babich IN!
Good call on Edge, NEW COACH, NEW O-LINE COACH, 60% RUN OFFENSE (almost bears coach), BETTER QB (will be top 2-3 QB's of all time before its all said and done). Cedric will dominate. Longest O-line inTACT in NFL. Better than REGGIE BUSH (LOL). Thats all I HAVE TO SAY ACTUALLY, YOU TOOK BUSH WITH FIRST ROUND PICK. THAT IS SO EMOTIONAL. Peyton won me 90% of my games last year. Also I had the #1 coaches rating. Meaning, I played the right players at the right time. Did I mention that I WON THE LEAGUE AGAIN? How did you do last year? Braylon Edwards had Charlie or Channing Fry throw to him last year and he still caught 7-8 TDs and he was hurt. OH yeah, #1 pick wasnt he? Same with Matt Jones (3rd year...break out year??) I thought you woulda known about third year recievers....yeah..Jules, you really know Fantasy.
Your are right about 1 thing...i hated to let Norwood go. I had to let someone go. He was my 14th round pick, so im sure he is not going anywhere...im the only one who recognized how good he is going to be anyways. But...Hester is purely a fun pick up. and my league is loaded with bears fans. So, i had to get um, before someone else remembered he was a WR. (or reads Hitmans post).
Jules, nice try, you came hard, and you know I appreciate that. But, ease back on the coffeee sister. It has you all jittery!
I do like Vince Young. You should start him immediately. I woulda taken Vince with First Pick if if peyton was gone. No kidding. Your league must be filled with people who dont have any vision if you picked him up so late.
and..Travis Henry>???? Isnt that the guy who got 9 kids from 8 women?
I do know fantasy, sister, and I know that even in a league full of Bears fans (which describes one of my leagues) dropping a starting RB for 3rd string WR (at best) who has never seen a down lined up at that position is not a smart move. I don't waste waivers on "fun" picks. I can't resist starting Romo at home against a weak Giants secondary, even though - like I said, I will likely start Young and maybe trade Romo later. I'd also like to hear your explanation as to why one's girlfriend or the amount of children he has produced has any bearing on what he's going to do on the field. Oh, and I guess I forgot to congratulate you on your victory......last year. Congratulations, and Tom Brady is Hotter than You.
Now where's my Grande Skim Red Eye Misto?
also..i have 3 starting wide SLOTS in CBS's FF league and I also have LenDaleWhite (starter) and Julius Jones(Starter) as my back ups to Edge (starter) and Ced (starter) so I NEEDED A BACK UP WR. Should I take Booker instead?
ANY DIAMONDS IN THIS ROUGH THAT HAVE BEEN OVERLOOKED??

BC, where'd you get this list? Reche Caldwell was released, and so was Antwaan Randle-El. Keyshawn retired. Toomer was injured last year - I wouldn't touch him. I'd grab Ronald Curry. Peerless Price may be a decent option for a backup too. Here's a guy not on your list - Eric Moulds. You may want to check him out. My first choice would still be Curry. It's okay - you can take my advice. Contrary to what you think, I do know what I'm talking about.
Reggie Williams WR Jax....David Garrard loves to throw to him and in Dirk Koetters new offense...they are going to throw a lot
3 pts?
Well, im not one to rub salt in your eye, but...well...yeah I am.
I will say this, its only game one, and its a long season and maybe Reggie Bush will get a few more carries or catch a few more 3 yard slants, id say its nice that he is returning more punts, but that doesnt count for you.
Oh well.....i dont know if you noticed how Peyton did.....288 PaYd, 3 PaTD (27,28,45)....id say average day at the office for him.
Well..dont feel too bad JB...it was only your first round pick!
There is still hope....Maybe Tom Brady will HOT you a spot into the playoffs though!!!
News: Reggie Bush, who came into Thursday's Week 1 opener at Indianapolis nursing a sore left ankle, posted just 38 rushing yards on 12 carries and he managed four receptions for only seven yards.
Analysis: A total of 45 yards on 19 touches is not exactly what Fantasy owners had in mind to start off the 2007 season. He'll look for better results in Week 2 at Tampa Bay and he'll have an extra three days to rest that ankle. He remains a must-start in all Fantasy leagues despite the below-average start.
Interesting news and analysis, Culzie. I just read it verbatim on the CBS site.
NFL started last Thursday and I have to go back 11 days to find a post on Football...ok, well, then..Im opening today with a post about how Michael Irvin is mysteriously missing from the ESPN's NFL sunday countdown.
Any explanations?
He wasn't mysteriously missing at all. He was let go by the network in February. I thought it was mysterious that his name still appeared on the Direct TV guide for NFL Countdown today.
Great Marketing Department! Michael needs to check in.
