Looks to me like the Bulls' coach has the team peaking at the right time. The Bulls are roaring into the playoffs and those of us who picked them to make it to the NBA Finals aren't looking as silly these days.
Now what do you think of Skiles?

Well let's look at some numbers first. When Skiles took over the Bulls were the worst team in the league. Yesterday's win over the Wizards put their record at 49-32, second best in the East and 6th best over all and got Skiles record with the Bulls to 156-155 after taking over a team that was 33-49 the year he took over. The Bulls are in the top 5 in defense, rebounding, assists and three point field goal percentage. They are 4th in the league in point differential at +4.1. They have the 4th best record since the All-star break. Since the break their turnover rate has decreased from 17 TOPG to 12. They are 6-1 in the last seven games, the only loss a blow out in Toronto which appeared to be a let down after blowing out Detroit in the Palace and blowing out the Nets at home. A win against the Nets in the final game of the season Wednesday night or a loss by the Cav's in either of their last 2 games will assure them the second seed in the play-offs. After digesting all that, I'd have to say Skiles has done a damn good job. Ofcourse now if you prefer to listen to people like Tyson Chandler and Tim Thomas or so-called locker room rumors rather than cold hard facts I've just wasted my time. And Yes Roman I am one of the "US" that picked them to get to the Finals. I still Believe it's the Maverick's year but it will take 6 games against the Bulls to get it done.
The only criticism that I sometimes have of Skiles concerns a tendency he shares with Phil Jackson.
Scott, like Phil, has a belief in letting his players "work through" a bad stretch without calling a timeout. When Phil had MJ and Scottie, et al or Kobe AND Shaq, that philosophy worked fine.
These Bulls, however, have not reached that level, mentally or talentwise.
I think that the Bulls could have another 3-5 wins, which would have meant the #1 seed, if Scott had called some additional TOs at appropriate times when the players were in brainlock mode, throwing the ball - and games - away like they had forgotten how to play the game.
Roman responds: I think I read Skiles saying the same thing about another 3-5 wins, but every team could say that. Bulls probably won a few they shouldn't have. Still a very good season and I like their chances in the first and even the second rounds.
I'm looking forward to the playoffs and I hope the Bulls will be in the finals. How could you not love Scott Skiles? He never looks for attention and is all about winning and defense. GO BULLS and WHITE SOX!!! Lets not forget Paxon who built this team of unselfish players.
Happy birthday to Loul Deng, TEAM MVP!!!! BTW - it is my Birtday too!
Skiles has done enough already to keep his job, just like Isaiah. Doesn't mean its the right thing to do either! Bulls are going into the second round, and have a great chance to win and advance to the conf. finals, where they will be thumped. But it will be a significant improvement and everyone will be happy in Chicago - but ME! Because I can count championships, of which we will not be competing for.
Call me a dreamer, but I think we could have done more this year and I don't think Mr. Skiles is the guy to take us to the finals. Mr. Flynn has aptly pointed out one of a few problems I have with Skiles, even though I respect what he has done in Chicago. I liken the Bulls to Miami, when they had a bright young coach in Vangundy and a exciting core of scrappy players. What did management do? They dumped that coach and traded two of those promising players for an old 350lb relic! They replace their young coach with a legend and the rest is champagne-filled history...que the rap music...
Keith, why are you so negative? Do you really want a super star like Shaq or Kobe on this team of unselfish players? I won't mention any of the Knicks players because we both know they are a joke. I would rather watch this team filled with unselfish players win it all then a team with a big headed super star. Ben Wallace is a big improvement from last year and don't forget we still have the lottery pick FROM YOUR BELOVED KNICKS this year. Don't you just love how our Bulls are out there earning there money playing hard every single minute? Don't be such a downer.
Roman responds: Ok, I think we've convinced Keith of the error of his ways. He's backed off, so let's cut him some slack.
Roman, understood... Keith, I'm sorry and if you want I'll buy you a Big Mac.
Dan - NOBODY will cheer louder than old Southsider! I haven't trully respected the Knicks as a foe since Starks went baseline on us! And I don't want to experience that Hugh Hollis feeling ever again. I want the BLOCK-PARTY FEELING! "In Archie Bunkers's voice "those were the days"... ALL I CAN SAY IS "Mr. we could use a guy like Michael Jordan agaaaaain"....
I highly doubt we will see a player like Jordan again in our lifetime or a Bulls team from the 90s. If you prefer a Whopper over a Big mac that's cool too.
Keith, I agree with you that the Bulls are not world beaters, they have weaknesses and can be streaky, but... whats with all the isiah love in your posts??
Isiah hasn't done any better than Larry Brown has done, they both didn't make the playoffs... Why they gave him a contract extension before the season ended is beyond me. This is his team right? 3 small guards that need the ball all the time, a 5'6" dunk champion that likes to start fights, oh and the front court for years to come (like you said) Curry, Jerome James, and Jared Jeffries... yuck!
Question, you really think Gasol would have been the difference maker? Giving up Deng, and possibly Gordon? Not me... for KG but not Gasol.
Sorry back to the subject, I think Skiles is doing great job, but only time will tell if he can get them over the hump in the playoffs.
Big D, I picked the worst possible example to compare/contrast all of our current success. For me a NBA team is built with the simple blocks:
Center (7ft musclebound scorer/rebounder on the block/passer)
PF (6'9 musclebound rebounder/scorer on the block)
SF (6-7 Slasher/shooter/weakside rebouder)
SG (6'6 scorer/create own shot/ballhandler/shooter)
PG (6-4 playmaker/ballhandler/shooter)
From that blueprint you select your team and go to war. Bulls have bits and pieces. We have a great PF, SF, all the rest we are too small. But we do defend well collectively. This gives the opposition 3 ways to attack on offense because of our size deficiency. We are going to war with a hybrid team! 5 guards and 5 small forwards and 3 power forwards!!! Thats all um saying. Isaiah's team does not look like a Rorschach blot! Thats all fellas. Other than that, its all good.
And D, of course we want to give up players for Garnett, but he wasn't available. We need someone for Sat, when all the thumping starts. And I would love to see Gasol put Shaq or Rasheed in foul trouble, cause Deng wont do it.
Roman responds: Gasol's a softy.
Keith, again, I agree with you that Bulls are lacking a post threat, everyone knows that.
With that said, I still don't understand your love for Isiah's NY knicks?? Yes, the bulls are overloaded at certain positions, but so are the Knicks. They have 4 guards (robinson, crawford, starbury, franchise) that are more SGs, but can't defend that position, no true PG (Starbury and Franchise are small guards in point guard bodies), SF slasher? Q, Jeffries? no...., 7ft center muscle(285 pnds, yeah right) scorer (sure, when he feels like it), rebounder (no way).
I'm aware that Garnett was not available, but if I'm giving up my core players, it's not just for Pau Gasol.... who I think would be the one in foul trouble against Shaq or Sheed.
I am still not the biggest Skiles fan around. The team is winning, but I don't really believe it's because of Scott Skiles. The biggest difference in the past month is the energy Tyrus Thomas has provided them. We still wouldn't know what he could do if Nocioni didn't get hurt, which doesn't say that much for Skiles. I still have concerns about him being able to coach superstar players, which may have us only looking for good and not "great" players for our team. I still don't think the players want to play for him. In my opinion this is another one of those "winning solves everything" situations that we won't be able to properly gauge until we run into a good team in the playoffs.
I won't be jumping on the Skiles bandwagon anytime in the near future regardless of what happens.
What many of you don't seem to understand is that the team's improvement over the course of the season is not only an improvement in the way the team relates to each other and executes both the offense and defense with better precision because of better familiarity, but it also shows that Skiles has made adjustments in his substitution patterns and that against certain teams he needs to call for time instead of letting the players play through a rough spell and he is not hesitant to yank his best players after they've committed consecutive bone-head turn overs. The improvement process is not limited to only the players as a season wears on but it involves the entire coaching staff. Go back to my first post and read the numbers again!
And I agree with Roman Gasol is soft.
Also I would not give up Deng for Garnett, maybe Duhon, Allen and Khryapa and a draft pick but then hasn't Garnett said he doesn't want to play in Chicago?
Keith I know you're impatient and want a SHIP tomorrow but "ship" teams are built in stages. It Took MJ 7 seven years to get there and believe me the Bulls will be there soon while Isiah is still trying to understand why he can't get a team of "I need the ball you play defense" players into the post season.
My main knock on skiles is that I think he sometimes allows his players TOO MUCH freedom with the three-ball. I feel as though the Bulls too often try and shoot their way out of slumps, this leads to even larger deficits, forcing us to claw our way back during the later part of games. Too often, Ben Gordon or Kirk will fire the three at random times during the games when they should be driving, or atlease looking for a higher-percentage shot. This WILL certainly be their achilles heal during the playoffs.
Other than that, I feel skiles has done a wonderful job with the team. There's only so much you can accomplish with a "jump-shooting" team, and he has done more than enough.
How can I redeem all of these Big Mac I have been offered!!
D, all I am saying is before you have a racecar you have to have a driver, engine, trans, steering, and brakes. We have 2 of 5.
Center - Wallace (A BEAST on the Boards/Defensively - too small - is only 6'8 and is naturally a PF - cannot score - liability at the line - especially in crunch time when we need him the most)
Center - Sweets - could not be a more appropriate nickname. Most likely is in Skile's doghouse. Looks defeated.
Center - Adriscuvicious (you spell it man!) Replaced Big Bird Luke Schenscher. Haven't seen him - Schenscher has played as much.
PF - PJ (too slow, too old, and does not rebound enough)
PF - T-Thomas (Explosive - should be - should be rookie of the year but is not because he plays for coach Skiles.
PF - Malik Allen - (serviceable bench player.
SF - Deng (great just about perfect - goes away at times)
SF - Noch (Mr. Intensity - takes too many charges and 3 pointers. too slow to guard 3's and too small to guard 4's)
SF - V-Krapy - (I like him, just too slow and we are heavily stockpiled at 3.
SG - Gordon (Special especially in pressure situations, but turnover prone - liability on defense - too small) Would be sitting behind the bench if he didn't have that killer instinct and that rainbow of a shot. Its beautiful like a pack of skittles!!!
SG - Thabo Sefeloosha - Great Defense, good passer and rebounder. Will be very good in the future especially under a different coach. Good size and wing span. Seems like a 3 at times. Reminds me of a young Scottie.
SG - Adrian Griffith - Good Vet. Not used enough in my opinion. Good size! Tough old school defensive Vet.
PG - Hinrich (ALL-HEART Defensive stopper - but goes away on offense and is not a true playmaker - too slow to play point and too small to guard shooting guards)
PG - Chris Duhon - best point guard we have on the team - has been scott-skiled! Cannot summon Offense at will. Looks spirit broken.
PG - Barrett - who? a very quick lil guard that must not be very good defensively, because Skiles has not played him at all this year.
Bench - OK - Because Thomas is there and Defensive specialist Adrian Griffith. Better in years past.
Skiles - AKA - "Oscar the Grouch" - career killer. Has a point guard's mentality but does not even have a true point on the team. Runs his offense from the perimeter (worst shooting percentage on the floor). Does run a tight ship which you have to respect. Is not the next level guy. Not respected by REFEREES, Alienates players. Has media fooled.
Dan - its not enough to have a good team with clean faces and braces n stuff! We are not trying to be the Washington Generals, but that is what we have become.
ROMAN RESPONDS: Career-killer? Whose career has he killed? Jason Kidd? Kidd may not have liked him, but he excelled and even upset the Spurs in a playoff series with the Suns.
The Bulls aren't clean faces and braces. They're floor burns and hustle, taking charges and rebounding. This is a dangerous team, and a lot of it has to do with Skiles.
Now it's true that Skiles' personality conflicts with players like Curry and Crawford, and Chandler to an extent, but in case you haven't noticed, those guys will be home watching the playoffs on TV.
Tim - It only took Phil 2 years in Chgo and LA. It only took Riley 2 years with Shaq in Miami. Rudy T - 2 years with the Rockets. 3 years for Poppovitch. It only took Larry Brown 2 years in Detroit (no real star).
Mike/Bulls was mishandled for years under Doug/Sleuth. Detroit knew Chicago was better a long time before we ever overcame them. Its a formula of balanced talented players, coaching and team defense. Wait? What for? Tim, that window of opportunity closes quickly on you. Ask Utah. Ask Sacramento. Ask Barkley and the Phoenix Suns. Had to get married to get a ring. And has to listen to Kenny the Jet on the set!
Two major factors here. #1 you have six maybe seven teams in the N.B.A. playing their butts off right now for playoff life or position, and the Bulls are one. #2 all good teams go thru a season with a decent streak of shooting and strong play, and the Bulls are one. Given these factors we know the Bulls are playing as hard if not harder than their opponents so a 'peaking element' might be a little premature. It is impossible to foresee how this young team handles the post-season regardless of the addition of seasoned veterans who may have little to do with outcome of the play-offs in the first place. Skiles has the benefit of a soft Eastern Conference but the disadvantage of a young team who is up there in "unforced turnovers". The key word is unforced. If he can get his troops to jump another level in concentration and continue to play the otherwise controlled ball they have all season they'll be fine; at least thru the conference. The one thing the Bulls have shown on a consistent basis all year, turnovers aside, is on both ends of the ball they look very disciplined while always playing. The consumate professional team under a good professional coach. We'll see to what level of pedestal placement Skiles has reached after the play-offs. Note: The Bears reached the Super Bowl via a weak N.F.C., major blunders by Seattle (Lovie got outcoached big time in that game), and a brain freeze by the N.O. coaching staff. The Bulls could well be in a similar situation, so a trip to the N.B.A. finals is in no way a farfetched idea. Now as for hurdling Mount Dallas/Phoenix/S.A., that's a reach!
This is a little off-topic, but since others have brought it up, I'd appreciate a response from Roman or others.
Out of 30 NBA teams, just how many really good low post players are there in the league? 10?
Dampier passes as that guy for the Mavs and his offense isn't integral to their success. The Suns success is not due to a low post player - Amare scores a lot inside, but mostly as a slasher or on alley oop passes.
Even the Spurs with Duncan, don't really qualify. Yes, Duncan does score inside, particularly when he has a real mismatch, but he has scoring ability out to 15-18 feet and his rebounding and defense are at least as important to the Spurs.
At this point in time, Curry and Dwight Howard, regardless of the fact that they get all their points inside, do not really have a low post game.
KG, a very talented player who will probably never wear a title ring, is in NO WAY, a low post player.
Despite the fact that Webber and Rasheed CAN be effective in the low post, they - or the way the Piston's run their offense - seldom choose to do so.
Shaq is the current quintessential low post player and, when he is gone, who besides Yao Ming and Gasol, are really that good?
Roman,
Skiles has certainly done a good job with the Bulls. There are few young coaches that has his moxey for defense and hard core "run it back at you" style that has led to so many easy points and weariness of the other team by the fourth quarter.
Every team has strengths and weaknesses. The Bulls are a little small and that does lead to some easy baskets over our players even with good defense. I think of Carter and Kidd. But they continue to show that they try to rest during certain parts of the game and allow us to abuse them with speed and superior effort. No one tries as hard as the Bulls except for the Raptors and they are younger and less experienced.
I have been a believer in the team all year and after watching tooooo many games, conclude, they have a chance as long as they do not get scared, to win it all.
I do want to say one thing. I am out in CAli and Kobi almost came to Chicago with Skiles as the coach. So those people who think great players will not play for Skiles are wrong. The great ones want the ring.
Ok Keith when Phil took over in '89 he already had in place MJ, Scottie and Horace Grant. In LA he had Shaq and Kobe. In Miami Riley had Shaq and D. Wade (by the way the Bulls gave them all they could handle in the first round also). Rudy T. had Hakeem and as for no real stars in Detriot, Ben and Rasheed, "Rip" hamilton and Tayshuan Prince were a pretty impressive group. Skiles has come along way without any so called legitmate superstar. Where are the Lakers and Phil right now? 7th seed with 8 fewer wins than the Bulls, Mami 4th seed with 5 fewer wins than the Bulls and a 1-3 record against the Bulls in the regular season. Do I think the Bulls can take any of the top 3 western conference teams in a 7 games series? No, but neither can Miami, Detroit or Cleveland. But what I do think is that Skiles has done an excellent job and is one year and one player from a championship. And that one player just may be Tyrus Thomas.
I agree the window of opportunity is a small window just ask Karl Malone who went to LA thinking he would finally get his ring there after being denied more than once by MJ and the Bulls. As for Sir Charles, I truly feel bad that he never won a championship and I love watching him banter with Kenny and EJ. I think the only thing funnier than his comments is his golf swing and like many I think the race between him and Dick Bavetta was fixed.
Tim - I AM CRACKING UP!!! That Dick Bavetta race was the highlight of the season for me! When Dick Bavetta dove to the finish line I slumped over my couch in tears! I'm glad he is ok.
Keith I had no doubt that Bavetta was ok that race was as well staged as any WWE match and as entertaining BUT...I am surprised you had no comment on my assessment of why it took Phil and Riley only 2 years to win a championship.
Now as far as Tim Flynn's assessement of the low post he's correct in that there are few true low post players these days but all that is needed is a threat in the low post to open the rest of the floor for the slashers. Example....Tim Duncan's real game is 12 to 15 feet but he commands attention on the low block opening the middle for a pass out of a double team to a cutting Parker or Genobli. Shaq is a true low post player because he not only can score consistantly but is also a deadly passer out of a double team in the post.
i think scott skiles is alright as a starter coach somewhat like doug collins was ,but if this team expects 2 go all the way someday he will have 2 be replaced someday by a phil jackson or pat riley type!it's still a superstars league when its all said and done!
Roman responds: I know this perception exists, but I don't understand it. Riley and Jackson won not only because they were good coaches, but they had the best players in the league. Skiles doesn't have one All-Star. NOT ONE! Yet the Bulls may be the No. 2 seed in the East. That's called coaching, not just riding Shaq. Give Skiles Shaq and Kobe and MJ and Pip and I'm sure he'll get a couple of rings.
Brian Hanley - Sun Times, Wed 4-18-07: No matter their seed or opponent, the Bulls are expecting a playoff run that doesn't end in the first round.
''We have every intention of continuing on,'' Skiles said. ''I don't want to make just getting out of the first round somehow the high bar of a great season. We want to keep on playing. The guys appear to be mentally and physically very fresh right now. Theoretically, that's a good sign.''
Added guard Ben Gordon: ''We're not playing just to make the playoffs; we want to advance, try to make the Eastern Conference finals and win. Anything short of that will be failure or disappointment.
''An underdog role is something we're going to have to take until we get out of the first round. It's a challenge. We just have to play to our capabilities, and that can take us all the way to the championship.''
Lifetime Southsider: TONIGHT IS THE NIGHT!! This game will determine if the Bulls have made significant improvement from last year. They win, and they prove they have improved. They lose, and they doom themselves to repeat last years limp into the playoffs and become heavy underdogs in the first round - against the champs. Only this year, they have Wallace and the Rookie and home court. Contenders or pretenders? TONIGHT IS THE NIGHT WE FIND OUT!!! I won't lie, I prefer they take the hard road! I would rather lose early, reveal our hand and make changes for next year. Beating up on weak teams and losing in the finals would give us a false sense of who we really are as a team. Bulls are close as Tim Little has mentioned and I agree. We just disagree at how long it will take to make the leap. I think we need to address: Coach, Center, 2 guard, Point guard positions. We need length and talent and a respected coach in here (players and refs). I don't like these weak teams coming in hear with confidence. Make these changes and the WHOLE league will know, Chicago is back. As I sat in the barbershop on Sat. (southside), I looked around at all of the posters of past glory all fading from the sun exposure. I remembered those teams and know that this current team is good, but we can be great.
i'm really thinking racism is at the heart of why people can't accept scott skiles as coach...
Darry M, tell me why? Because Phil, Riley, Daley, Poppovich, Tomjanovich, Brown are all white coaches - and CHAMPIONS.
darryl m that is the most absurd thing I've read here. what is the basis for that statement? are you claiming Skiles is a racist and that is why he is not accepted? and if so where are your facts to back it up? the truth is Skiles has a hard nosed personality and generally points out defeciencies first and hands out praise secondary. he's not a flamboyant charachter like Phil Jackson or Pat Riley or even Isiah Thomas(ouch that one hurt to say). but racism at the heart of his lack of acceptance? I don't know if I am more offended at your blanket statement without any explaination or more surprised that Roman allowed your post.
Roman responds: I thought he was being sarcastic, implying Skiles' critics don't accept him becasue he's white. Keith?
I thought he was being sarcastic, implying Skiles' critics don't accept him becasue he's white
there ya go.
I agree Skiles deserves a lot of credit, but I can't believe nobody else has mentioned the one thing that drives me nuts with him. Game on the line, last shot, time-out, and then its like Groundhog Day - Ben "My Name Is Not Michael" Gordon, smallest player on the court, drives the lane into the big trees, knowing the refs will never blow the whistle at that point, and throws up a bad shot. Bulls lose. How many times has this happened this year? 12 times (3X in Cleveland loss alone)? How many game winners - 1? How will we ever know if Captain Kirk has big shot ability if he is never allowed to take one? Personally, I'd rather see Duhon take an open shot in this situation then Gordon drive the lane. When this is repeated in the first close playoff game, then tell me what a genius Skiles is. It makes me think what a good coach Doug Collins was!
Simple question...Could any other coach win 50 games with this roster? I'd say no.
Tim Flynn - you are right about the Center position, that is why guys like Curry/Gasol are at a premium. Also why guys loke Zo, Antonio Davis, McDyse, and Kevin Willis are still working. Shaquille Oneal said there were only 3 true centers in the league - himself, Yao and Eddie Curry. And that was about 3 years ago when Eddie was with the Bulls. I think you have Tim Duncan wrong, he is just smart and knows when to set up on the block. The game today is not suited for low block posters. It has become the run and gun high scoring style of the Phoenix Suns, even though playoff ball is more traditional. I like new guys Amare, Dwight Howard, Andrew Bynum, Chris Kamen, Darko Milicic, Rasho Nesterovich. They are the future. Playing the post is a lost art. I hope it comes back in style.
I know you guys are going to get all over me for this, but when Isaiah signed Eddy, I thought that was a stroke of genius. There are times when you trade the player, and there are times when you keep him and make it work. Was time to dump Chandler, but I am not so sure with Eddy.
ok I can see the sarcasm in the statement now, my apologies.
Tom Woodbury you brought up a valid point that I had intended to bring up on more than one occasion but decided to let it go at the time. I don't have a problem with the ball being in Gordon's hands at that point BUT! there needs to be options off the play. even his airness did not always keep the ball all the time. Remember Steve Kerr's game winning shot? MJ told him coming out of that time out to get open and be ready just in case. as the defense starts to collapse Gordon should be kicking the ball out to Deng or Nocioni on the wing or back to Kirk at the arch, any one of them would be open and my money would be on Deng or Noce to knck down the shot.
Keith you need another Big Mac to get blood flowing to the brain. Eddy Curry was, is and always will be lazy, soft on defense and a terrible rebounder which is why he fits so well in the Knicks scheme of egocentric players that don't know there is no "I" in team.
I was rather disappointed with the loss tonight and thought the Bulls appeared to be pressing instead of just excuting the offense. On the bright side though they have played well against both Miami and detroit during the regular season and have a chance to avenge the loss to Miami last year right out of the gate with the home court advantage. now if the Bulls were to beat both Miami and Detriot and Toronto upsets Cleveland (which is a possibilty) the Bulls could end up with home court in the conference finals.
Tim, break out the Saran, cause its a wrap my friend.
Skiles was my boy back in college but he can't coach. The fact that Kirt dribbles way 2 much, Gordan can't dribble, they have no low0post game, and have more unforced turnovers than any other team in the league speaks volumes about Skiles as a coach. Time 2 move on.
I'd like 2 see Kirk, along with a few other players GONE from this team. He is a slightly better version of Rex Grossman.
Roman do you realy think guys like Shaq,Kobe and M.J. and Pip would play for Scott skiles !jordan and pippen hated playing for Collins, and Shaq was not to crazy about Stan Van Gundy!COACHING superstars is alot different than coaching kids!for a while their Ben Wallace was looking like like he might implode and he is a b-list superstar at best!
Roman responds: It's a fair question. I don't think those guys would want to play for Skiles. Tim Duncan might. Garnett might. I don't know. I think part of it could hinge on how well the Bulls do in the next few weeks. If Skiles could prove his method works, a lot of superstars just want a chance at winning a title.
Oh and by the way the way the Bulls are the 5th seed in the east, and probably 1 and done!Superstars step up in the playoffs!
"I know you guys are going to get all over me for this, but when Isaiah signed Eddy, I thought that was a stroke of genius".
It was a stroke of luck and genius that Paxson was able to get this deal done. Isiah has taken indirect shots at Skiles by saying "we need to teach Eddy fundamentals", like Skiles never tried. Let's all worship Eddy and his 3 pints higher scoring average than what he did with the Bulls. Give me Tyrus and whomever they pick this summer ANY day. I relatively sure they won't sit on their butt and eat McDs all day. I only wish that pretty boy Isiah had to sit at the lottery show in a few weeks...that would be priceless.
For another view of Sally Curry, take a look at this odd stat in Yahoo sports and you'll see yet another reason why this whole NY-contrived, "King Eddy" is so laughable. I'll admit this is one person's view but I also find it comical that Eddy is the worst on this list and the Bulls new, real, center is at the top.

Jeff and Tom Flynn are right on...
Back to Eddy...I wonder what the net difference is between Eddy and his opposing center. Think of Curry's turnovers, rebounds he doesn't get, lack of blocked shots, and general indifference to playing any D...based on that he's really no better than the average center in the league....Dampier is a good comparison I think.
I can just see Isiah now if the ping pong balls bounce the Bulls' way and give them Oden. "Well we still love Eddy and I would make this trade again". I almost think we owe Isiah something for taking Curry and Crawford off the Bulls hands.
