The Heat may have been defending champs, but the Pistons are the No. 1 seed in the East and have home-court advantage. It's a tall order for the Bulls, but not one they can't accomplish, especially if they continue to shoot like this.

Props to Anthony Navarro and Jason for predicting before the playoffs started that the Bulls were going to sweep the Heat. It hasn't happened yet, but bouncing back on the road like that in the fourth quarter is huge.
Should they trade down? What position needs to be addressed most urgently? What to do with No. 55?
Whether it's for this season or for the rest of his Cubs career, Mark Prior is done. It's always sad to see an athlete seriously injured in the prime of his career. Let the second-guessing start, did Dusty use him too much? Where was Larry Rothschild? Why did this happen?
As Pat Riley was leaving his postgame interview session Tuesday, he looked at a reporter, smiled and said "Flop." It was in reference to an earlier question, but that's not the point. The point is Riley didn't seem at all worried with his team down 0-2, and that's exactly how the Bulls should want it.
This isn't just normal Cubs follies. This is Hall of Fame stuff. Losing the way they did Sunday — AND THEN AGAIN MONDAY — was just unbelievable. And now I find myself not being able to look away from Lou Piniella's postgame interviews. Although of course, I couldn't watch his postgamer Monday since he skipped the required media session.
Sure, Hinrich stunk it up Saturday, and the timing enhanced his poor performance because of those comments. But Hinrich's troubles led to playoff playing time for Thabo, and he was incredible to watch.
It wasn't the most impressive victory in the world, but the Bulls' win Saturday served an important purpose.
What a surprise in UFC 70. Gabriel Gonzagao knocks out Mirko Cro Cop in the first round with as vicious a head kick as I've seen. AndreI Arlovski, meanwhile, wins but is unimpressive.
The way I see it, the Bulls just lost their first-round series. Losing to the Nets is no sin, especially now as they caught fire lately, but matching up against the Heat was the worst-case scenario for the Bulls.
What a game. Grand slam, great defensive plays, pick-off of the only base-runner - who happened to be Sammy Sosa.
So what do the Cubs do when Alfonso Soriano comes back, move Pie to right and bench Jacque Jones?
Looks to me like the Bulls' coach has the team peaking at the right time. The Bulls are roaring into the playoffs and those of us who picked them to make it to the NBA Finals aren't looking as silly these days.
Ozzie's talking about flip-flopping Erstad and Tads in the lineup? What do you think Sox fans, and what moves would you make? Same with you Cubs fans, Piniella's also talking about tweaking the lineup, what are your changes?
Sam Zell must be wondering what he bought. If the Cubs are the plum of his Trib Co. acquisition, then he's in trouble, because his asking price is decreasing daily. Nice of Trib Co. to leave the new owner with that bill, too.
It seemed somewhat appropriate that the Bears schedule came out on a snowy day. How do you see it?
If you've ever been to a Bulls game when the home team gets close to 100, you know the roar that accompanies each possession as the fans get excited about a free taco, or in the case of Tuesday night, a Big Mac.
It's been just over a year since I posted an entry on Candace Parker. It was after her two dunks, and I insinuated they weren't really dunks. I should have followed up on that before now.
One blogger drew a parallel between Imus and Tim Hardaway and wondered why we aren't going after Imus with the same zeal. Well, simple, Hardaway is a former NBA star from Chicago, and Imus is a radio host with no connection to sports, except for the stupid comment he just made.
At the end of spring training, another uneven spring training for Bobby Jenks, he was asked about critics who doubted he could turn things on again once the season started. And he said everybody could kiss his butt.
As I watched Lou Piniella talk about the weather after Tuesday's 4-2 embarrassment to the Astros, I winced. I kinda like Lou, and I hope he does well. But the weather? Please.
Then again, it might be tough to blame Bob Howry considering he's on pace to pitch in like 150 games. And Michael Wuertz did a decent job. Another quality start wasted.
I mean, as a catcher, you would think the one thing he could do really well is catch. But the guy treats pitches like Rex Grossman treats handoffs. Another Barrett passed ball Thursday killed the Cubs.
You guys more worried about Garland or Contreras? Starters or the bullpen? The White Sox or the Indians?
It's really hard to say who's the best match-up for the Bulls. I think the worst one is Miami, and New Jersey isn't far behind. Maybe Toronto. What do you think? How disappointed would you be if the Bulls are one and done?
We put Tribune Company on trial for gross mismanagement of the Cubs, you found it guilty and we sentenced it to sell the team immediately. Less than a week later, the team officially is for sale. Who would you like to see buy the Cubs?
Other than Big Z, who's going to step up on the Cubs' staff? Can Soriano play center? Will Buehrle return to World Series form or last season's routine? Will the Bulls finally get past the first round?
