Tank's odyssey continues

| | Comments (46)

Tank Johnson got 120 days in jail for violating his probation on a 2005 gun case. He'll be back for training camp. He could have received a full year. Does the punishment fit the crime? I believe it does.

Eh...under normal circumstances, I'd say "no."

But Tank certainly seemed contrite in his press conference after Posey was killed, so who knows? Maybe he truly has been punished "enough." Whether or not he really understands the consequences of his actions (or even his inaction) will be determined by everything he does henceforth.

Money sure makes a lot of things easier, doesn't it?

I'll never understand what the big deal is about this. This is stupid. What about all the drug thugs in the NFL? they don't go to Jail? I guess THEY don't need anybody to buy guns to stay profitable when you have government contracts. Who has a contract for weed? cocaine? He could have been caught with two meth labs
and a murder rap, and he wouldn't have gone to prison. What did Ray Lewis get? A big fat contract and that stupid dance.

We're not talking about years so it fit. No one should skate, because a crime was committed. I hate that this question will bring out the sanctimonious respondents that jump all over every transgression that these players make because they're really POed that he's still a rich and able to keep his job. With good time he'll get out in less time. I still think that his first arrest was not have been warranted. Because a nosy @$$ valet, parking you car find something in your car and call the police that conjures a certain thought in my head. I doubt it was just sitting in the open for anyone to see. (Even Scotty's was found in the armrest not in plain sight) It was stupid to have it so easily found. But I bet if it was money the guy might have just kept it. Where is there a policy in the valet parking handbook that state you are supposed to nose around someone's car? I bet the valet service fired the guy after the situation because that had to be a lttle bad for business, that there was an appearance of snooping. Who thinks he got a raise or an award for his "heroics"?

Tank should have been given a 6 figure fine instead of jail time. We have people who are out selling drugs, robbing, and shooting people. They are the ones who need to be going to jail.

Roman responds: Tank had loaded guns and over 500 rounds of ammo in a house with kids. He's lucky he hasn't lost his kids to DCFS. And he was shooting and mistreating his dogs. He's not an innocent victim.

Any time a professional athlete finds his way into trouble like this we are conditioned as fans to expect he will be "bailed out" somehow and avoid any serious punishment, like jail time. I am actually happy to see Tank paying a steep price for screwing up. I still believe, however, that having the best lawyers and the fame associated with playing for the Bears did not hurt him at all. If it were some guy off the street, it's a safe assumption he would have been punished more harshly. But this is a start and hopefully sends a message to professional athletes that even though they can get away with more than regular folks, they are NOT above the law. As far as the Bears enforcing a punishment of their own at this point, it would lack credibility as they already allowed him back to play in the Super Bowl. Hopefully the league does something along the lines of a 4-6 game suspension. After he serves his time in jail, and then with the league, maybe he'll truly be ready to move on and understand he needs to clean up his act or his days in Chicago and perhaps the NFL wil be over before he knows it.

Yet we can have politicians and CEOS steal millions and destroy people lives and walk around for 5 to 6 years before a trial date is even set, get real.

Roman responds: You're right.

Another fine example of an overpaid, undereducated pro football player who thinks he is above they law. Tank is no "rock star" or celebrity...maybe the NFL will suspend him for 3-6 games. He got off lightly...judge should have thrown the book at him.

But Norman, politicians and CEOS don't have to be free for the start of training camp.

If the man wanted to have dogs and guns in his home, that's his business. I would not do that, but who gives me the right to judge someone else. We live in a Society that loves to judge, provided they are not under the same indictment. I feel that this man is being made an example of. In my opinion, this is not a case of justice being served, just merely priviledged people who feel they are "threatened". Man, get real!

Roman responds: Look, laws are laws. We all have to live by them. He had been arrested twice before yet chose to allow a convicted felon to live in his house. There were drugs and firearms in the same house as children. And he apparently would fire his weapons in his backyard and either her or Posey apparently shot at his malnourished dogs. The judge did get real.

If Tank wants to keep weapons and ammo in his home that's fine,he can also keep his pistol right on the front seat next to him.All he's got to do is move to Georgia, especially Atlanta, then he can become a member of the Fel-CONS.

Roman responds: Or to Cincinnnati. Wait a minute, he's not the only member of the Bears who's been in trouble. Ricky Manning Jr.s' incident was nauseating. Maybe Tank belongs right where he is.

One important element missing in the Tank Johnson situation and the jail sentence he received yesterday is the fact he did not get charged with child endangerment. Loaded, unlocked weapons, some loaded, with easy access to live ammunition in a home with young children could have resulted in more charges levied against him. Frankly, I am surprised other charges have not been brought against him for this reckless behavior.

Tank Johnson is very lucky he didn't lose custody of his children.

Illinois is a state that thinks all the people allowed guns are ...

Roman responds: No more racial talk right now. I think you're new to this blog and may think it's unfair, but if you scroll through the comments, your argument has been articulated before. Thanks.

Romo-
500 rounds of ammo is nothing to an avid shooting enthusiast. most ammunition is sold in boxes of 50 or 100 with the exception of shotgun shells (25 to a box). during the days when I did a lot of hunting and trap and target shooting (5 different caliber and gauge weapons and all registered)it was not unusual for me to have twice that amount of ammo and the supplies to reload spent shells in the house, and yes it was not readily accessible to my children although they were educated at an early age about firearms and firearm safety. although these days I prefer to shoot deer and other wild life with a camera instead of a gun I am still a proponent of second amendment rights.but I also believe that right carries a responsibilty to keep within the laws of the state you live in. with all that said Tank broke the law and if he was indeed shooting his dogs and mistreating them he should have gotten more than 120 days. considering Illinois' gun laws I am surprised they did not send a stronger message.

Had Tank stayed under the radar after the initial raid, I'm almost positive he would have received a slap on the wrist and told to get his act together. Instead he chose to "mingle" late night at a club less than 48 hours later. He not only lost his best friend (who for all we know may have encouraged him to go out that night), but his chance at any leniency by the court. I'm sure it eats him alive that he made the bonehead decision to go clubbing for only the loss of his friend, but now he has the time (120 days will be 60) to think over things a little longer. Jail time gives him the opportunity to relive the past an long for the future. The silver cloud here is he will be a committed player and a devout father and husband after this one. You'll see!

dr. harry edwards said it best; guys like tank johnson are pretty much the same guys who routinely get sent away to jail every day. the only difference is that they make 7-figure salaries. one thing tank johnson can be happy about is that he has truly "overcome", as the civil rights song says. anyone else, white or black, being caught with loaded guns with kids in the house would have had those kids snatched away from them that same night. but thanks to his status as a football star, dfcs looked the other way.

but, it won't last for long. the days of giving lawrence phillips second, third, tenth chances are coming to an end. nfl commissioner goodall doesn't want his annual hawaiian pro bowl ending up like the nba all-star game because of the tank/pacman/bengals mentality that is festering within the ranks. tank johnson should count on receiving a minimum 25% salary reduction (4-game suspension) this season. maybe that will convince him to shape up.

I don't understand the folks who think Tank Johnson got a raw deal. Yeah, there are criminals in our society who should be in jail...what's your point? He got caught twice. And, he's doing 120 days, if it were Joe Citizen, it would be three years. He already got a kitchen pass

He may have deserved a lesson and has obviously ignored his responsibilities, but I don't believe this is going to help him. It may, in fact, hurt him as he interacts with the kind of people he needs to distance himself from. Maybe he'll find a new bodyguard at county.

I can't believe some of you people are saying he doesnt deserve the time he recieved. He should be locked up for the max 1 year.
Tank will own fire arms again and will hang out with the same shady people that he always hung out with. I hate these pro athletes that think they can get away with anything and I'm so happy he's going to be locked up for at least 60 days. I hope he does something stupid in jail so he can't get out early with good time. Anyone thinking about me being a racist can stop because I'm black.

Tank got what he deserved. It coulda been a little more or a little less and it still would of been ok.What is not fair is that the nfl will probably make an example out him and suspend him for 4 games and fine him.I understand that professional athletes are held to higher standard but if any of us got arrested and our job suspended us with no pay then fined us s..t would hit the fan. Lets hope he learns from his mistakes and doesn't make urlacher and lovie look like morons for testifing on his behalf.

I don't like the fact that states have control over The Right To Bear Arms, that are founding fathers clearly stated as our right.
He bought the guns legally in Arizona.
But, I would give him more time for animal abuse. If you abuse an animal you are the animal.
So hindsight being 20/20 it may just be good for his hollow character to have to do a little time.
I guess animal abuse is part of the "street" cred thing that some of the pro athletes seem to deem a necessary component to their Machismo. Or something like that. Ignorance prevails with some of these guys. Scary isn't it?

What Tank did, he did to himself. His HOME, his DOG, his KIDS, his CAR. A CRIME is supposed to be against society. Check it out for yourselves. I have to agree with an earlier poster about minding your own business. Drunk drivers WALK AWAY SCOTT FREE - after taking lives. You want to go after someone, pick someone who has actually done something to hurt someone other than himself. Tank has apologized, made changes in his life and shown contrition. Got rid of the guns, the dogs, his friends, even his braids! Our GOVENOR (Ryan) was responsible for the deaths of 6 children and wouldn't even write or offer an apology. He devastated an entire family and won't so much as walk by a jail.

I am trying very hard to understand how anyone could be making an argument that supports Tank in any way. Referencing the seriousness of other crimes that go unpunished is irrelevant. If it takes years to get those CEO's brought to justice, you can blame the legal system. But don't dismiss the crimes Tank committed in any way. He is clearly an idiot. He's not a victim and I don't buy that theory about being a product of his environment. There are plenty of pro athletes that had bad friends growing up and somehow managed to keep themselves out of this kind of trouble. From the day those professional teams invest their first dollar in these players, they are all over this stuff and look to protect their investment by bringing in career counselors and advisors to help players learn how to adjust to life as a pro athlete. It was no secret he always found trouble and I bet anything that he had teammates, coaches, and the front office telling him more than a few times that he needed to clean up his act and do a better job of staying out of trouble. But he ignored every bit of good advice and got exactly what he deserved.

And at the risk of echoing other people's comments, the way he endangered his children is just pathetic. It's going to make me sick when he returns from his suspension and comes dancing onto Soldier Field during pregame introductions like nothing happened, further demonstrating he wasn't humbled at all by this. And it will make me more sick when he's welcomed back by fans with a louder than normal ovation.

what Tank did was NOT just to himself....HIS DOG? there are laws covering mistreatment of animals (this was not done to himself and by the way Ron Artest should have at the very least been fined for the treatment of his dogs)...HIS KIDS? again there are laws covering child endangerment....HIS CAR? Tank didn't have a carry permit from the state of Illinois (granted the parking valet had no right or business snooping through the car and should have been at the very least fired for that)so having the gun in the car was a violation of state law.....fortunately for Tank stupidity is not a crime. After he has served his time he deserves a chance to prove he has turned himself around. Those of you that thought it was a farce that the court alowed Tank to travel with the team to the SB keep in mind that many people convicted of DUI are issued a restricted license that allows them to drive back and forth to work. As far as governor Ryan is concerned that is a travesty and one can only believe he will answer to a higher court when his time comes.

Football seasons's over and we got three out of four blogs on the bears.I think you can say it's a postseason from hell for Bears fans.
Tank you made a stupid mistake now do your time, just make sure you dont lose too much weight in there.Maybe commisary has protein bars.

Lance I know your deeply hurt over the 7 mil contract.Right or wrong your still going to play I have no doubt of that.Just remember us Bears fans been hurt for generations by the misers of the midway and please give us 100 percent next year.

lovie your game calling is horrible at times now that your gonna be here for a while fix it.

I love coming back to IL. The firearms I legally own and carry in NV have to be locked away, seperated from my ammo. Because I still have a valid FOID, I'm allowed to gingerly transport them to a dingy range in the back of an industrial building, where I show ID twice before getting the practice required to be a safe, careful gun owner. I've had my background checked by 2 states, my picture and prints run by 2 different state police organizations and the FBI, my proficiency tested by a certified expert, and if, God forbid, somebody so much as sees my legally purchased guns, I'll be felony stopped and treated like a criminal.

It's a good thing there isn't any violent crime in IL that respectable, upstanding citizens would want the freedom to protect themselves from.

BTW - I buy my range ammo in bulk - 1000 rounds at a time. Because of IL's silly law, instead of having it shipped to my office, I have to get it shipped to my FOID listed home, where it sits unattended on the front step all day until I can bring it inside at night. Feel safe IL, the laws will protect you better than you could ever protect yourselves.

Roman responds: Yep, the laws are silly. We need more people with more guns. That's the answer.

My rebuttal to Keith is in parenthesis:

What Tank did, he did to himself. His HOME,
(people live next door to other people, and when your behavior intrudes on THEIR ability to peacefully enjoy their own homes, you've crossed the line)

his DOG, (pets are defenseless animals, and harming them is NOT doing something to yourself. It's a crime; look it up.)

his KIDS, (also defenseless, they need to be protected from negligent parents who would leave loaded weapons within their reach)

his CAR (he has been driving on a suspended license for quite some time, flaunting the law in the process).

A CRIME is supposed to be against society. Check it out for yourselves. (how many of society's laws should he be allowed to violate before he's held accountable?)

You want to go after someone, pick someone who has actually done something to hurt someone other than himself. Tank has apologized, (what other choice did he have?)

made changes in his life (again, what were his options at this juncture?)

and shown contrition (are we somehow obligated to buy into this act?)

Got rid of the guns, (Once more, what choice did he have?)

the dogs,(he gave them up before they were taken away)

his friends, (he didn't willingly part company with Mr. Posey)

even his braids! (a cosmetic PR move, if I ever saw one)

I think we should remember that "the right to bear arms" was enacted to deal with local militias over 200 years ago. This is something that should have been changed some time after the Civil War! Guns in the hands of people like Tank Johnson is one scary thought.

Roman responds: All these gun advocates talking about the silly laws, then the ones who get shot aren't some armed robbers. I read 100 times more stories about kids either shooting themselves or some other kid with their dad's gun than about the old man shooting home invaders. Or macho men in bars settling fights with a gun, like what happened to Tank's friend. I don't even know why we bother talking about it, they'll never agree, and the NRA's too powerful to allow change. So on we go.

The NFL could put an end to all of this nonsense if it chose to do so. I'm sure that the Player's Union would kick up a fuss, but they'd take a serious public relations hit by doing so.

If the NFL is serious about distancing itself from the Hip Hop, thug life, gangsta image that appears to be in vogue with many of it's players, ownership can shed this image by simply avoiding those players who revel in it, regardless of their talent.

The NFLPA can scream all it wants about the collective bargaining agreement, but where does it say that a team is obligated to continue it's relationship with an employee that has tested positive for drugs? They can cut such a player at any time, if they're willing to make a statement, and take the resulting salary cap hit.

Players who have been arrested and charged with crimes are afforded all the protections of the judicial system, but there's nothing anywhere that says a general manager is obligated to keep them around until the final disposition of their case.

The suspensions that teams and the leage are allowed to impliment are strictly governed by the CBA, but there's nothing in the CBA to prevent a team from simply severing it's ties with a troubled player. I guess their primary concern is that there is always another team out there with a need to fill, and a willingness to overlook any negative baggage. This is an issue that ownership needs to confront as a group. Until they reach a consensus, law breaking players will continue getting passes.

If the NFL wishes to market it's players (read: employees) as role models, it has every right to insist that they conform to all of society's laws, and it has the ability to do something about it if they don't.

What it presently lacks is the courage to do so.

Roman responds: Ok, I'm on my way to celebrate St. Patty's Day, so I can't rebut the entire message. But the "hip hop lifestyle" has nothign to do with anything. Most hip hop fans are white kids in the suburbs, anyway.
Happy St. P's day everyone.

Hip Hop, thug life, gangsta rap ... all elements of a larger culture that are very similar, and convey mixed messages to the impressionable children that they attract. The misogynistic, and violent undertones of this so called "culture" have a negative impact on it's targeted audience, and do little to promote anything positive or beneficial to society.

It matters not whether the consumers that this junk is being marketed to are black, white, or polka dot. The message remains the same. The glorification of crime, and drugs, along with the idea that women are the equivilant of female dogs is a recurrent theme. It isn't "just music"; it's a lifestyle. A lifestyle in which respect for life itself is cheapened, common courtesy is considered passe', and personal responsibility for one's actions is almost non-existant.

Don't bust a cap in my a$$ for making this observation. Shooting the messenger has never solved anything.

And happy St. Patrick's Day to you too! I'll be staying home tonight, lest I run across any partygoers like Tank Johnson's former friend, or the guy who shot him.

I do not think that the punishment fits the crime. The crime was violating his probation by possessing of gun. Its not like he violated his probation by taking or dealing drugs or harming others. I think that any punishment in excess of home confinement is excessive (and even that's pushing it).

Roman... Seriously... You need to start believing the opposite of everything you currently believe. Then you would go from about 65-35 wrong to 65-35 right. That's one heck of a jump in accuracy with one action. Think about it.

Roman responds: And who's the judge of what's right and wrong? You? If that's the case, I'd rather be wrong. Thanks for the insight, though.

Tank got probation for having a gun in his car. They gave him misdemeanor probation it should have been a Felony. One of the conditions was he could not have any guns in his possession. One break. The States Attorney dismissed the assault charge against him on a signed complaint by a Police Officer. How many of you would get this break? Break Two. He was given home confinment but was allowed to go to Miami. Break three. He got a fair and just sentence.

On a different note, I just read that Tank will spend at least the next two months in protective custody (isolation) and only be allowed out of his cell for an hour a day to shower and watch TV. He won't be allowed to work out.

I have a problem with this. Under most circumstances I'd agree that inmates should not be provided with exercise equipment. With nothing better to do, they spend their time working out, becoming even bigger and tougher than when they entered prison. Anyone can understand that having bigger and tougher criminals is not in society's best interest, especially if they're violent criminals.

But Tank Johnson was not convicted of a violent crime, and if he is compelled to serve the entire four months the effects could indeed be devastating, as coach Smith suggested. A poor prison diet combined with a lack of physical activity will have serious ramifications insofar as his status as a professional athlete is concerned.

An accountant who goes to jail will not forget how to add and subtract, and a tradesman will be able to pick up his tools where he left off after his incarceration is over with. But muscles don't remember how to stay strong. They atrophy, and in four months even a young man like Mr. Johnson can lose a considerable percentage of his muscle mass, along with a great deal of flexibility. It might take him as long as a year to recover, and regain the kind of strength, speed, and mobility that's required for the NFL's level of play.

In this respect I can see how the sentence could be looked upon as being harsh, and I would suggest that he be allowed to at least maintain the strength he will need to continue working at his chosen profession upon release.

Tank doesn't come off like a bad guy.Filling up jails with folks like Tank no wonder our jails are over flowing! Like one blogger wrote, jails are for gangbangers ,rapists ,murderers, child molesters & robbers etc. I believe in tough punishment but sometimes our courts let the bad guys off easy & throw book at the good guys.

Roman responds: I agree, Tank doesn't seem like a bad guy. But still, 3 arrests in 18 months? He's no saint, either.

Roman must have really tied one on yesterday. It's been almost 24 hours since this blog was updated. I hope he's ok.

Roman responds: What, you think I should be glued to the laptop 24/7? Thanks, had a good time. What did I miss?

more educated and trained people owning legally obtained guns is the right answer.why are we a free democratic country.because our forefathers owned guns 230+ years ago and used them!thank whomever that we have not had to use them on our soil in 140+ years.I would rather be the shepherd than the sheep.I SUPPORT OUR CONSTITUITION AND THE 2ND AMENDMENT.Tank is now paying for his transgressions. When his time is done we should leave him alone and see how or if he has changed.YOUR FLIPPANT ANSWER TO MARK JUST SHOWS YOUR IGNORANCE OF THE ROLE GUNS HAVE PLAYED IN OUR FREEDOM.

Roman responds: Quick, name as many athletes as you can who have been pinched for some type of weapons charge. Tank, Pippen, Muhsin, Fizer and Lonny Baxter come to mind, and those are just Chicago athletes. Now take a minute and tell me how many athletes you can think of whose lives were saved by having a gun. Now tell me how many kids are killed each year by accident as opposed to how many armed robbers were stopped by a gun. Yeah, I know about the role guns played in our freedom, I also know the role they're playing now.

Roman what makes many of the gun laws "silly" is that the laws that existed prior to the enactment of many of them were never enforced much like the drunk driving laws were prior to the efforts of groups such as MADD. Only after years of campaigning did MADD get the attention of the court system and drunk drivers began to actually pay the price and the streets began to be safer. As it is right now a drunk driver could potentially get a stiffer sentence in many states than a person commiting a gun law violation. A person sentenced to 25 yrs. to life is eligible for parole in 12 1/2 yrs the person he/she shot was sentenced to their grave without benefit of a trial. All the laws in the world aren't going to get guns out of the hands of criminals, but enforcing the law and handing out meaningful sentences especially in gang and drug related cases would be a start. In those cases where "innocent" children have been shot with daddy's gun....daddy should be held responsible for having that gun available and for not teaching that child the devastation a firearm causes. I have owned guns my entire adult life and taught my children from the time they could understand about guns and their proper use and safe handling. They have chosen not to hunt or even own guns. That is their choice and I respect that but they would be the first to defend my right to have them. Bottom line is guns are not the problem. The problem is today's society. Too many parents are caught up in their own careers to take the time to spend meaningful time actually raising their children and the judicial system doesn't hold them responsible.

Tank is going to get HUGE while he does his bid. THink about.... 4 months in the Pen, he needs to do push ups all day and get jacked then him and Harris can work the line...All of you in Chicago be greatful you are there for the holday. Brutal loss for da bulls last night....painful

Basically, Tank violated his probation terms and that is why he was sentenced. Having the fire arms and the ammo is beside the point. Also, I don't think he shot at the dogs. Wasn't that Posey. I think this has been blown out of porportion, but he got what he deserved. Hopefully, he can move on and live a law abiding life. By the way he can do push ups in his cell and jog in place until he gets out. I assume he will then have atleast a four game suspension from the NFL to get back into NFL type shape. Roman, for professional purposes, you should really research fire arm statistics and fire arm laws before you write about them. It is a diservice to your profession to write unintelligently.

Did Tank really think the new haircut would help his image? Perhaps he ditched the dreads to come off as clean cut, but he's not a good guy. People should learn from their mistakes and he has shown he has not. You're right, Roman - 3 arrests in 18 months is a lot. Tank also should have known not to go to a nightclub the day after being arrested. Bad things tend to happen when NFL players go to nightclubs. He's lucky he hasn't had to serve any jail time before now, and I'm guessing he won't serve the entire 4 months. And he still gets to keep his job. How many chances does the NFL actually give its employees when they get into trouble? Pacman Jones has been either arrested or questioned by police 10 times in 2 years. There's no way a regular person with a regular job would be able to keep returning to work with that kind of history. Everyone knows guns and drugs are bad and lead to bad behavior, but I can't get past the mistreatment of his dogs. Cruelty to animals should be all the confirmation anyone needs as to Tank's true integrity.

I guess this topic is toast.

Let's move on.

I never said Tank was not wrong, I just appreciate that he was ruining HIS LIFE instead of others. Its ashame to mistreat children or animals, but the professionals that looked at both - and NO CHARGES were filed. This was the assessment of the PROFESSIONALS - not me. I blame tank's arrests on his youth and bad judgement. People are too hard on others - but they want MERCY when they mess up (or their loved ones). I would rather my taxes be spent on jailing someone - who inflicts pain on others. He is in jail now, so a lot of folks can sleep better tonight knowing Tank is not out there with HIS children and pitbulls. What a joke.

Cut him. He had his chance.

I agree 100% with Julie B and have nothing to add to her passionate statement.

kevin: "[Roman's] FLIPPANT ANSWER TO MARK JUST SHOWS [HIS] IGNORANCE OF THE ROLE GUNS HAVE PLAYED IN OUR FREEDOM."

Speak for yourself. My freedom was determined by a single decree from one tall guy from Illinois, the peaceful protests of a man named King, and the firey rhetoric of a charismatic Muslim convert.

While I agree that guns don't kill people, stupid people with guns certainly do kill people; since it is neither possible nor humane (although the latter is up for debate) to regulate the presence of stupid people, I'll settle for strict gun regulation. I like Chris Rock's idea of "bullet control," too.

Mark: Herschel Walker doesn't lift weights, and he's still a beast. (Watch Pros vs. Joes.) If Tank does push-ups and sit-ups, he'll be relatively okay.

I think Tank is getting what he not only deserves but needs. Hopefully he will get straight and get his life in order. The only thing I can say about Posey is that it's hard to let go of friends. I know most people would run for the money and leave everyone behind but some people aren't made up like that. I grew up in a rough Chicago neighborhood and was a great student, but just because I lived in proximity to alot of bad things I had gang members and drug dealers as people I went to school with from kindergarten and up. They weren't always drug dealers and gang bangers, and even though people have been to jail, in the end most people STILL only see their friend. It's hard to just turn your back on these people, so I think maybe people should try to
understand that.

As for the kids being taken away? Hmmmm........seems kids get killed everyday in Chicago because DCFS is apparently run by morons. I suppose that in this situation Tank Johnson is just like everyone else in not having kids in a dangerous situation removed. That's the sad part.
